I noticed in these forums in this game 2 camps of players. The first being fan boys. The second raising concerns and issues to get information. The difference is hilarious. Some examples:
Curious player asking: "This game was fun with lots to do, see, and quest. Then it hit grind wall. Is this a grinder?" - Response from fan boy camp: "This game has quest progress but does not hold your hand like wow. At 41 it is a grind and a Korean game. Get used to it or leave".
Curious player asking: "Why is a PvP oriented game not have a linkable auto target? Why do the WASD controls suck for a PvP game?" Fan Boy - "Leave if do not like it. We are not wow, we do not have auto target".
Here is where the fan boy fails, and where I find this really funny:
1.) The fan boy falls on the "This is lineage, it has history, balh blah"...sure. It is old game, but they invested in patches adn content, and a revamped game. With a little code tweak the controls and questing could have been fixed. But nope. So this whole argument: "It is an old game" Holds ZERO ounces of water. LOL!
I have this super suspicious feeling, that Lineage 2 (SO DIFFERENT than the 1st BTW) got all these players stuck and addicted, and they have been losing their money to an outdated dessing, and instead of exploring other titles to see that, they just stick to ignorance and respond ignorantly. It is so blatantly clear. I have flavored just about every mmo, and to tell players to go play WoW or a private Lineage 2 server is not the answer. There is: Prius, Battle of Immortals, PErfect World, Forsaken world, Regnum online (closest to this game), ARGO online, AIKA online, etc. etc... ALL PvP open world games that have BETTER controls that make PvP feel like a real combat between TWO PEOPLE, and NOT TWO ROBOTS waiting to target... LOL! THAT my friends is the difference. Not WoW, but the fact competition out there is x100 better than this (HENCE the reason this garbage went F2P). *slaps fan boy upside the head* durrrrr....
As far as grind, yes, almost all the Koreans have learned, and all grind pays off in the other games, more so than these "outdated" games refusing to change due to dropped management.
So, word of advice fan boys. I am sorry you got stuck here (and paid cash), but there are some pretty cool titles out there just like this, that are a little more fluid and with a larger enveloping story. I am sorry you are mad at WoW, but NEWS FLASH, it is not the cape goat to blame your frustration at. When the player says: "WASD" is broken. IT IS BROKEN, it is a blaring default other (almost all?) other mmo competition has fixed... that is all. There is not "It is broken therefore it is hardcore, therefore that makes us super cool grinders" LOL!! It is like grinding since 2008 has broken your heads.
And new guys finding these same inconveniences as I did, yes, you are right, and hey, you should listen to the L2 fan boys and quit. I am right now. There is no incentive to play with cooky camera. awkward robot like movement. Spending the next few hours of my life only to find end game nothing but a farm fest, (even PWE learned to make end game content more meaningful for the grind). I have a several level 50 characters in other games that I keep in window mode as I played this.
Congrads for going free to play, as I believe this is the future of all games. And sorry it is directly paralleled with and competitive with free to play servers and wow (at least to Fan boys view). I will see you in some other better titles! HAve fun! and enjoy the fail! :)

I use to play both L2 and WOW for the past 7 years (actually I just play these 2 games and DotA) both on retail and private servers.
Every person can make a decision for himself and tbh L2 has always been holding my heart. I am not gonna flood this post with pros and cons of both games because you know very well what will start from it.
It is basically like this:
I like both games but I have always loved L2 and now I love it even more since they have dealt with so many major issues like the very essence of L2 being a mindless grindfest and oriented mostly to hardcore gamers. Now it can offer fun for both casual and hardcore ones.
I play only MMOs (no Skyrim and **** cause I don't like playing a game by my own) and L2 has always given me the pleasure I need.
Every man makes his own decisions as I already said. Nobody can make you play or not a certain game.
Love this I know best threads and I came here to change a game to fit my preferences.
We like Pizza so we 're here eating Pizza. You can't demand we all eat hamburgers instead cause you prefer them. How about that little mountain you missed? I don't go to WoW boards telling them jumping around is idiotic ... they enjoy it, they do it. Similarly, I enjoy point and click and I play this game. If this game was different I might not enjoy it, but suggesting the game would be better if it was tailored to your liking is utterly myopic. Which is pretty much, in true clueless style, what you accuse OTHER people of ;)
I feel someone just lost a few minutes of his life writing a rant that nobody cares about. There are no decent MMORPGs right now, prolly Tera or TOR will change that, who knows.
It's not the fanboys fault if people join this game without knowing anything about it, asking random questions and comparing this game to others. You downloaded the game, made an account, so go ahead and play and ****.

So, WoW, Fiesta, Conquer etc etc etc, you can WASD and jump, that in my opinion, might make the PvP funnier, true, but **** it, your PvPing with Rabbits all the time jumping?
Let's put this on real life, you're gonna kick someones ***, ur gonna jump around him? HE would just look at you and "WTF?"

And there is a horde of freebie-comers, which want L2 to become the same as some MMO game they've just left, who want it right now, don't want to learn to play, don't understand how the changes are brought into this game... and QQ a lot.

Actually they use a combination of WASD and the Mouse.
WASD mapped to Forward, Reverse, Strafe Left and Strafe right. They use the mouse to turn. Which also works in Lineage as well, albeit a little wonky still.
They also use extensive custom key bindings with CTRL/Alt multipliers.

There is no way to strafe in L2. That's by design. If you want to run away from a dagger, you will need to show your back.

I always love when someone puts something like this on their post since they know there theory is so full of holes that you could float a aircraft carrier through it. Basically all that sentence says is "I'm an idiot so please ignore me."
