Playing a knight class in Lineage 2 God

So i want to play again and thinking heavily about playing a knight class...
Back in the days when i played it was the worst decision you cut make but how about now with the way less grinding and solo options in lineage 2?
I played a Tank class in Aion the last 2 years and really enjoyed it but how far did tanks in Aion develop?

They are like Captain Americ on Steroids; the only thing they are lacking is a throwable shield that bounces back, they get everything else plus magic reflects.
