I would understand(?) if someone kses a Q monster when there are 100 ppl waiting for it,but i had a slim hope that as the game proceeds ppl would some some respect to their fellow gamers.Instead of this, everywhere i go there is a tough guy(replace u with a) who ks my mobs.I play l2 for many years and if i happened to see a spot that is claimed by another,i move forward. This surely doesnt happen here.Learn to show some respect, this ain't private server, and i think YOU have to adapt to this.
I am sorry to hear, you are having a hard time with the player base, after the game went free to play, a large number of rude players have come to the servers, they don't respect other players and will try to grief you, please be careful.
that's the downside of F2P unfortunately, everybody that couldn't afford $15 a month can now play here and yeah the quality of the playerbase has gone downhill
even with the $15... there was constant Kill stealing all over the place....

it's when the population dropped it was rarer... but it still occured.... usually followed by either pvp.. or pking
With too many players doing exactly the same quest its bound to happen.

Im doing dailies in one place and normal grinding in places that doesnt have dailies. Doing that i have no problem.

Have to admit tho, im getting used to Ksing too, dailies are forcing my hand :P
In all of my years of playing Lineage II, I've come to surmise that this game has the highest ratio of Dchebags:NicePlayers to any other MMO I've ever played. It's just something you'll have to put up with, so don't let it get to you. Since I've been back, I've experienced many kill-steals, buffed people after they asked and not get thanked in return, rec the heck out of someone who asked to be and not get thanked in return, offered to buff people who just completely ignored me and so on. But on the other side of the coin, I've also met some great people in the past week, so that helps negate the others.

I have been experiencing KSing in full force with the daily quests. My lowly tank is no match for an archer on one side of me and a mage on the other. There were many times when I sent my panther to a mob and by the time he got there (and I am talking about sticking to my own little area), an archer killed two or three mobs total, including that one!

Chances are this will all die down as time passes. In the meantime it's still good to see so many people in-game.

No joke. With all the KSers around me I have never been so pushed towards PvPing in my life. But I suck at it so I drop that idea quick ;-)
The way to stop it used to be Pk ut these stupid koreans disabled it.

Or you could adapt.
Even with so many people doing the same quest or in the same grind spot, they certainly need to use their eyeballs and see if said monster they want to kill isn't already being killed as we speak.

So many times have I sent my servitor out to kill something and I can see that one melee out there charging his head towards it. Servitor is beating the **** out of the monster. Melee is in range, kills it, takes the drops and moves on. I mean really? There are even times I can servitor and nuke the monster and same thing happens still.

I've played my fair share of MMOs: free, paid and private server but the abundance of this is a bit too much.
I wonder how feasable it would be to simply implement a system where if you do damage, you get credit. COH does this, and it works nicely. Granted, a lot of COH's systems are geared, in theory, to reduce inter-player drama (can't kill steal, drops are totally anonymous and automatic, no way to tell who got what, etc), but may not be appropriate here.

... and you favor the highlevel with the most damage output. (these already get the most XP btw)

how about just hit everything thats close to you and everyone gets their quest done ... or you can make an actual team and help each other out

Or if you're mad you can hit players, or if you're really really mad you can pk them.

Yes, since Free To Play, alot of new players are just bottom of the barrel KSing scum.
I find it funny how some people say the new players are bottom feeders... when MANY of the "top" members in the game for years have the exact same attitude, rolling in an KSing, and then just because they think they can.. and more often than not, know they can because of whatever reasons... will destroy anyone that tries to defend themselves and their spot.. or wants to try and get revenge...

True, many of the so called top elite pvp kings are the same way.
Bottom of the barrel KSing scum.

& I never said all new players are bottom feeding scum. Only the group that KS's everybody.

You can pk them for the spot.

Oh wait, you cant.
An easy way to fix KSing would be to implement what EQII has. The moment you attack the mob it locks it out so that others that aren't in your group/raid party can't attack it.
If quest monsters counts apllied to everybody on the same party at same time, it would lessen this but nooo...one of the reasons i still find this game too primitive, it's not using it's potential.

Angel_lucifer, warlords would be kings then :D i understand where you coming from tho but there would need to be a huge downside to that person.
It is the way how it is from the beginning of LA2 and now you complain that it's bad/broken and must be fixed? Where you came from people? It's LA2.
PK, PK, PK!!!! thats just the way it is!
Do like i'm about to do.

Gonna farm a Chaotic char, gonna kick his *** with my main char, get green name, and due having positive reputation i can PK once in a while with -1 reputation penalty until 31PKs.

After that, for what i DID UNDERSTAND (might be wrong) after you have 31 PK and you PK again, your reputation goes negativo to your PK count.

If that's so, until 100 PKs would be piece of cake, you just need to keep your Greenie name up, so you can have 1 free PK kill for spot :)

"If a Lawful character’s PK count is 31 or higher, that character will immediately become Chaotic and the character’s Reputation points become negative proportionally to PK count."

Or becomes -31 reput, or 31 x 700 x.x'
Can anyone clear me out on this?
You guys do realize this system is intentional to start drama and pvp right? If it wasn't they would have fixed this system years ago. Now as for why they overhauled the PK system... I'm a bit boggled because that was a trait L2 had going for it.

Generally I think the PK system is fine, I think it should be a little softer on anyone pre75 though. There's alot of AOEing going on post 75 and you can easily wash a pk in a couple pulls at those levels. However it's a nightmare for anyone below 60 right now.

I wouldnt be surprised if by the next expansion it gets toned down a little bit, I wouldnt say go back to the old one but make it more manageable, this seemed to be very directed at getting ppl back without them feeling griefed from the get go.
It is not 100% intended KS,
i am a new player that came here from the private "world" when the f2p system implemented, and i sure KS'd a few mobs in my root to 63 lvl that i am now but i just want to tell you that at least for my case it wasnt intended because of the lag i hitted many mobs that i even couldnt see that someone else had/was/gonna to attack them, for me it was like seeing a mob and nothing else arround it and after killing it 2-3 ppl showed in screen that had the mob

Ofcourse there are KSers but i just believe that there is a 20-30 % of people that they dont do it on purpose
Why does everyone say " you cant pk any more"?

Correct me pls if i am wrong, but doesnt it cost 5000 fame to remove a pk?

In a weekend of TW and Seige, i gathered 55.000 fame.

If I am correct, that gives me the right to pk 11 times! Doesn't it..?

Quoted for truth!

you can remove pks with fame, you can't remove negative rep with fame. Plus the problem these people are having is mostly sub A grade when they are all bunched up together in I don't know, quest zone X with 100 mobs and 500 people trying to gather 40 quest items from them

by removing the pks with fame, u make sure u wont drop an item.
Replacing the reputation points is just a matter of grinding.
So what is the real problem?
Yeah I think as the new playerbase gets spread out a bit more this will diminish. But L2 has always been an open game. Open market (traditionally, little to no emphasis on soulbound items ... though now there is a bit). Open PvP (both in the sense that you can attack anyone at any time, and in the fact that your 'enemies' are of your own political creation - it's not a factional game like WoW or AION). So KSing has always been around.

Frankly I think it's a good way to judge who's an idiot and who's not. The people are who are respectful and friendly are most often the best people to have as friends and clanmates - you know you can trust them. The KSers and trash talkers? Revealed as the immature kids they are.

Also I have to admit I KS accidentally more often than I'd like. Living in Australia gives me a massive ping, and it literally takes a second or two for my clicks to result in in-game actions (like stopping attacking or running towards a target). Sometimes people just have lag - they aren't intentionally trying to KS you.

Their problem? That when you 're a lowbie and there's literally 3000 other lowbies all grinding the same area grinding away 700 negative rep is a pipe dream. So you end up having to tolerate the KSers.

I read somewhere about the next patch-update in GoD and we will have to choose sides or something. "Dawn & Light", could be similar to previous seven sighs. I just hope that does not have to do with factions. Lineage 2 is the greatest game ever and I hope it never changes.

As for the people complaining about PKs. It will be easier to de-karma as soon as you gather fame and remember fame points will be much more now. But I like the new system and those who say they hate it, I'm sure they don't know what they are talking about because this update just started, give it time.

The KSing will always be around, especially when places are overcrowded. I have KSed as well. Sometimes intentionally sometimes unintentionally. Sometimes cause someone ****** me off. We just have to live with it. That's why playing in groups always reduces these kind of bad sides of the game.
I am guilty of this >_____<

In my defence I invite everyone around me to a party so they can share in my dred's awesomness :p

Notice the stat that says "PvP/PK"? that is your PK counter. When you kill someone who flagged, you get a PvP count, if not, you get a PK.

When you have 31 PKs or more; your next PK will automatically turn you red AND it will give you negative reputation calculated accordingly.

The thing is before the patch; they removed all karma from all players; so you had reputation 0 to begin with. If you had under 31 PK counts you got a PK buffer that would only reset your rep to 0 IF YOU HAD ANY and not turn you chaotic.

But if you had more than 31 PK from before, then you lose all reputation you might have earned, and inmediatly go to red name with negative reputation according to your number of PKs. so a single PK could net you some 50k or more negative reputation.

for new chars, you get none of this; PK once, get -720 reputation, kill twice and get like -800 MORE; you go redname, stop earning xp and sp and have to hunt mobs your level or above. The more you PK, the higher your negative reputation is.
You all talk about the quality of the playerbase going downhill but you ignore the fact that it's a general issue in any game. If you compare the gamers from years ago you'll realize this new wave (from one and a bit more years ago) are composed of crying babies who wants everything easy, for free and will bully much more than what we're used to see. They all follow a single stereotype:

1 - When low-lvl they're all friendly.
2 - At mid-lvl they start KSing for good and *****ing.
3 - At high lvl they're all arrogant who think they're the hot shot in the game and make fun out of the newbies.

This is just a reflection of the kind of people we'll find nowadays in real life.
This is what happens when you put such a harsh penalty on PK'ing people in this game.
