It is very hard to train a wolf

I have a wolf level 15, and when my level is 50, wolf's level is 24, so I created other toon for leveling the wolf.

my toon level 23 - wolf level 24
I farm mobs, and I do not do any quest, and now:
my toon level 29 - wolf level 26

It seems to me that NCSoft change exp's table of character, but not exp's table of wolf.

what do you think?

Yeah it is quite a pain. Have to raise hat for those who leveled wolves before they made it even as easy as it is today. (wolf needed to do damage and so on)

yep i did the same thing on my wolf today on alternative char no quests after 20 wolf was 21 and at lvl 38 wolf was lvl 27 lol
it clearly shows that NC didnt redo the pets xp table to match the new characters xp table x.x

i have a lvl 87 and 83 wolf

has to do with 2 things

1. whos xp is more important urs or the wolfs? (u need to think of ur wolf as a party member)

2. how many chars do u have to lvl a wolf?

if u wanna lvl a wolf properly its xp MUST be more important than ur own

wolf equal lvl or less than the master: 30% wolf 70% master

wolf higher than master up to 5 lvls roughly 40% wolf 60% master

wolf higher than master 9-15 lvls roughly 50% wolf 50% master

wolf higher than master 15-19 lvls roughly 70% wolf 30% master

so best xp for wolf is ALWAYS lvl him with a toon that is much lower than him

i can lvl a wolf from 15-55 in roughly 2 days doing this. (i used to lvl em up and sell em all the time hehe)

2. u MUST have many alts to do this . I have 28 heheheheh

Like stupidity said, without a high level char to level the pet, create alts and level wolf by doing kamalokas only. It's the easiest way to level a pet to 55, after that the pet should gain exp in about the same rate as you.

So you must be 16-19 levels under wolf level in order to power level the wolf correct ? {70% wolf 30% master}

If you are 20 levels lower then wolf level you cannot control it right ?

probably not cause baby pet "drain" more XP, but you can still use the same "system"

I picked him at lvl 26, kokaburra at lvl 24.

Now i'm lvl 52 and kooka at lvl 25 with 30 %

my pet gets 0.08 each mob that i kill. ( i get 0.60 )

Baby pets take 5% of your exp, regardless of what level.

Wolfs are different and act as a party member, do what somebody else said and create alts. No quests, just grind!

No! Read it again out loud that would only be the case if the XP needed for the pet to level was the same as yours which it isnt, 1% of 1000 is not the same as 1% of 100. So your pet will get a lot more thank 0.05% if you get 1%.

I just use % as example.

The main is not the experience points?

I got 5000 xp from mob, the pet will get 5 % of that ( 250 xp ).

What is the difference if i kill a mob now that gives me 20000 xp, pet will get 5 % of that ( 1000 xp ).

So.. if i kill more mobs that gives me more exp. basically my pet would grow up faster.

I'm trying to say as more exp points you have, more exp points kooka will get, don't matter the lvl.

If i kill a wolf in starter town at lvl 1 i get 60 % ( 1000 exp ) my kooka will get 5 % of that. 3 % and 50 exp.


NOW if i kill stakato in lvl 52 that gives me 1 % ( 20000 exp ) my kooka will get 5 % of that. 0,05 % (1000 exp )

You understand what i'm talking about?

yes in both cases u are correct.

1. After 55 wolf is still same as it was pre GoD. (my wolf was 86 100% pre GoD now is 87.13:P) he gettin slow xp now lol 20min grind in L room was .01% lol same as b4 :)

2. baby pets: same idea just in reverse
baby pets are always 5% until they become improved pets. improved pet i believe are around 20% (i havent tested this in a while so dont quote me on this lol)

so it works in reverse. The higher the char, the faster the xp for the baby pet. I used to sit in IT the first 4 mobs, put it against the wall and watch it ding about 10 times in the first 20 min or so lol

While it somewhat challenging, it isn't impossible to raise a wolf at a decent rate in GoD. I started with the wolf on my 1st toon when he was already 37. Wolf got little XP so I decided to roll a new char and used wolf on that char starting after the SS quest (lv 6-7 I think?). Char is now 41, Wolf is 24.

I know that's still behind me, but it's not as bad as some of these people make it sound. Also, my pet has died quite a few times and only gotten 0-20% res. At least a level lost from death so my wolf is leveling something like 3/5 of my rate; I'm bad at math.

And if you learn how to properly park your pet or gear and buff, they really shouldn't die as much as mine do. I'm just lazy lol! Just learn which situations to use it and which ones to park it before you get there and then call him once it's clear. Fairly easy in my experience.

it will only grow faster if u use a 75+ char to lvl a 25-55 pet. park it and grind :)

I don't get why its so hard to lvl a wolf. Maybe it's the person's perception of how fast the pet should lvl. I started lvling my lvl 15 wolf back when they had to attack to get xp with my nuker. At lvl 50, I started lvling him with my titan(which was 10 lvls lower at the time then the wolf). Got him to lvl 86 @ 100% and put him away 3 months before GoD came out to lvl a buffalo. I Awakened and started lvling him again. Now I"m lvl 86, he's lvl 88 and the way he's going, he'll get to 99, sit back and laugh at me while I'm still 90. HE MOCKS ME!!!!!

Just put in the time. he'll get there. Some ppl just don't want to share the xp all the time and this might make it seem that the pet doesn't lvl fast enough for them. Took that puppy everywhere with me, all the time. I upgraded his gear slowly. He assisted me and is a Da mn good DD. He earned his lvl with me. Did the same thing with my WC. Did they slow my xp down? Sure. But now I have a good DD to complement my Golden Lion and
an Enchantress with Kick asz buffs, ;)

I honestly thought it was easier to raise wolves this way then the way we have now. Then again, I was raising a wolf with a SE oh so long ago, was one of the first high lv wolves, minus a few other individuals like what was her name.....that wolf lady! Kiriana or something!

Do pets not get XP based on their damage ratio to your damage?

Well i don't understand what the xp system is now for baby pets...but i remember that before it would level up faster than i did even if i was higher level than the pet. Now i got a kooka at 24, it is now 25 and my character is 45. This is simply not right. It should not be so hard to level a kooka. Besides have u tried to level pets after GoD stupidity? Cause yes, all the things you are saying are true BEFORE the update.

I'm now lv66 my wolf is lv39. It's now gaining more % than I'm. So it's catching up! :)

and how its about the hatchlin? someone can tell me if they r like the wolf lvl system or the baby pets plz^^

When I came back my Wolf was lvl 45, I started partying in GC and he now is lvl 72 and a fenrir and can dish out quite a bit of dmg with the weapons I bought him. Its very easy to level a wolf, my girlfriend was leveling a koka and she went from 28 to 60 even faster than the wolf.

well put it this way....

i will level every pet the way i did b4 GoD and let u know my progress :)

took me 4 alt chars to get wolf on 42 in god on normal grind

and how its about the hatchling? someone can tell me if they r like the wolf lvl system or the baby pets plz^^
