No One Picks Up Loot?

This is the first game I've seen where people have no desire to loot items. I played last night on Heavy so there was tons of people and I spent a lot of time looting since no one wanted their stuff. Each mob dropped 2-3 items and the people would just kill mobs and move on.

Is looting not important until later levels? That's the only reason I can see for people not looting. Unless they are botting on the starter island.

It makes me question if these people know something I don't and I am wasting time by looting.
They just don't want to waste time on looting, but I think that looting is important since you can acquire items that you can sell to npc to improve a bit your cash.
It depends, some are lazy and don't want the money from the mats.
Also at higher lvls are many player that xp a sub or play some twinks (2nd char etc.) that don't care anymore for 200 or even 1k adena.

The real money doesn't come from mats drops. Atleast not at lower lvls.
I got about 2mil adena and lots of armor bags in Ruins of Despair so many ppl killing mobs no one bothers with looting so they can finish the quests.
What server were you playing on? And what level area?

Chances are if you were on Chronos or Naia the person has toons with millions possibly billions of adena on them, as there are alot of people right now quickly leveling alts to transfer Mentee Certificates to their higher leveled toons. Those alts you see leveling in the 1-38 level areas will probabaly be deleted once they complete their second class change quest, and another toon will take its spot until all their important toons have Mentee Certs. Expecially if they were nuking, the time it takes to pick up 100K of adena on the ground might take hours off the time to level.

Sometimes nukers will go on a killing spree for a set amount of time, then run around after to pick up the drops.
I was playing on Magmeld, *sadface* just went down, and in the low level area (15ish) no one picks up their items but I'm not in a leveling hurry so I'll pick them up.

At higher lvls u earn much more adena and get better items. its better to lvl quick first and after u have a good lvl u can start looting again.
Or possibly they are fighting to get out of the same level as everyone else, since when I was playing on that server there were so many people in the same hunting grounds you had to be lucky enough to get a mob spawn beside you to get one.
Is it possible that dropped items form some sort of lag to the server???
I don't pick up drops, enless they are valuable, until I get a character to 45-50. Before that point I just don't see the drops worth the time I would spend picking them all up :)
I made a lot of adena picking up other people drops.. sometimes asking first if the player is there.

If not picked up items vanish by themselves after 10 minutes; this was done in Gracia to ease the load on the server database.
Most people don't pick up lower level stuff because the drops just aren't that good in comparison. Why pick up 500 now when you can just be picking up 5000 later? No to mention the crowds you deal with at lower levels even still on the new servers.

Not worth the hassle for most people, at least that's the reason I don't do it. Now I'm 70+ and I loot.

I am the same way with my level 76 Spellhowler, or I drag a lower level toon behind me and spam hit the pickup button with my other keyboard. :D

I pick up the dropped items with my lower level characters because for me any little bit helps. In Enchanted Valley the other night I made almost 500k adena just picking up **** all over the ground. Not bad for a level 47 Warcryer just running around. :D
Whats the point picking up 200 adena, when in the same time if you make last hits on mobs and finish your quests you earn 100-300k?

There is no point picking up in the open fields, the time you lose running around can slow down your xp/h rate by a lot, and in general at 1-60 lvl range drops are 90% crappy.
Simple, you used to need materials to make items. Now you're given items all the way up to 85, so there is no longer any reason to pick up crafting materials or adena until 85.

Silly now, but all those drops used to be really important.
get pet (wolf or any baby pet) make macro that has your main nuke/attack and petpickup command. try line mobs so that you can nuke from top of last mobs corpse. pet pickups and you can still nuke normal speed!
I wish people would pick up their loot. It's an eyesore. :P

But I don't mind getting several hundred or even several thousand adena. :)

Besides that, I played on other games and having items on the ground was a surefire way to crash a server...

...so possibly?

have you seen drops?????? adena??? mobs at lvl 70 drop more adena than mobs 87!!! around 1000 adena/mobs it's amazing! and the parts to craft R grade? they are so many that we dont need
Well on lower lvls, if you want some adena, go check higher lvl spots also, most of ppl skip adena (and new mats ) drops even on 85+ spots. (solo exping areas)
Psssh tis all good... more adena for me!
I love when people leave adena lying around, I simply log in one of my lowbie toon and go around collecting it.

Great to do when I get bored of grinding and just want to explore. Unlike the die-hards I do not spend hours grinding for XP as I am a casual player who is not interested in getting to end-game in a few weeks. :D
The thing is that now the game just kind of gives you money. You get around 1kk just for getting through the tutorial. Back when I played one million adena was a pretty big deal. New players will get in the mindset early on that the quests will just keep coming with money, which is partly true, and have no desire to pick up piles of low adena amounts.
When I can play, I pick up everything earthly possible. I'm such a greed. :c
Picking up in low level areas is probably ok for the most part but be careful when u get to higher lvl hunting areas. Like someone previously mentioned, some ppl pick up after they've cleared the area. I've had ppl pick up my drops when I was just getting to doing it myself w/o asking and that's annoying as ****.
Unfortunately, loot time goes down quick until it can be picked up by anyone. If you're in an area with other players, you need to decide which one's more important: attacking that monster or picking up the loot the last one dropped. It's annoying when people pick up your things, but it's your fault.

It's funny how u were judging the established community in ur earlier post by calling us rude and unhelpful but seem to be doing the judging now. My post was directed at giving advice to someone new to the game and whether u like it or not, u need to respect someone's work whether they choose to pick it up right away or not. It's not up to u to decide how someone is to do things and on what schedule, but respecting someone else's accomplishment will take u a long way. By your "its ur fault" logic, ksing should b totally fine and nobody should complain about it. Cuz its a free for all, according to the new players. U r right, it's that type of attitude that is not respected by the established community.
You're making no sense at all. I don't believe I ever judged any one, even in my introduction forum. I do enjoy the fact you're getting an attitude over a harmless comment. Picking up loot isn't the same thing as KSing. The simple fact of the matter is, if you want to assure no one else gets your loot and you're in a populated air... Pick it up. Otherwise, don't throw a hissy fit.

I don't run right over to a killed monster and pick up loot. If no one's around it, then I'll grab it.

Then reading comprehension may not b ur strong suit if you didn't understand what I was talking about. Again, not surprising from someone stooping down to phrases like "hissy fit"... You should put a bit more thought when throwing around such generic statements like "it's ur fault".
And that's coming from the person who types "ur" and not "you're/your" with endless typos to accompany it.

Well, I'm not going to feed you and carry on this childish argument. To each their own. Have a nice night. c:

Someone who plays as much as she says she is, it should come as no surprise that this kind of typing is meant to reduce the time it takes, not for the lack of knowledge of grammar. I'm perfectly aware of the proper usage of "there", "their", and "they're". Honestly, every time someone starts picking at someone else's writing style it just shows me how emotionally immature they are (here, happy?). So yeah, no more time wasted on you.

most higher lvl players will not pick up loot on a low lvl toon since the time they spend looting would be worth more on thier high lvl toon.

I'm the same. It is against my religion to leave adenas laying around.
