I just did a kama 49, well I say I did it, by which I mean we did the first boss, went to the second (im the healer btw, elven elder), by the time the bosses mobs are dead I have about 1000/1800 mana left, by the time the mobs spawn again, the boss is only on about 6/8 of its life and I'm just about out of mana from healing the tank only using greater heal.
I'm sure the squad wasn't the best as a couple people in the squad was saying, as no one was listening to which mob to take out first and it just looked like everyone was scattered nearly trying to attack the boss minions.
So yea, what would the ideal squad setup be to do this? how many healers? do we need an off-tank? is there specific things I should be doing as the healer apart from simply healing and debuffing it's attack speed?
The Kama's that end in 9's are alot harder then the rest, and you need a party that knows what they are doing in order to beat them.
Usually we have everyone stand back so they don't aggro the entire next area. Have someone try to pull 1 mob at a time back to where your party is. If you have a few Pole users, you can pull a few at a time.
For the bosses. You need 1 tanking the main boss, and the rest of the DD's all have to decide on a targetter, and make sure they are all focusing on the same mob. If they are all trying to kill this mob and that mob, there is no way you will complete it. It also staggers the minions returning. As soon as you see a minion come back, the entire DD team must stop hitting the boss and focus on killing each minion as it comes back. The Tank should also be using HP pots to help keep the Healers MP.
Random parties and the Kama 9's never seem to work out well.
