I'm playing in the Shilen server currently with "Tree Blessing - Stage 5" buff which is supposed to recover vitality when gaining exp. However my vitality is dropping at its usual rate currently already blown through ~6% since server came back online. The pattack section of the buff is working as the tooltip describes.
This is a bug with all the buffs from trees which will be fixed?

You can only give her ornaments when the tree is in a stage that needs a particular ornament. The event starts with all trees in stage 5, at which time you cannot give here any because none are needed.
There were changes made to the event yesterday, and a notice about that was made on the event page, in this thread, and in the maintenance page. The Tree Blessing buffs that give P. Atk and M. Atk no longer give a XP buff. The XP boost is only obtained through the Stage 5 item, Miracle of the Tree.
Are you saying that when using the Miracle of the Tree item, your Vit is not replenishing as you gain XP, as it describes?
Sace, I think you guys need to fix the re-spawn rate of snowman. Every town is stuck at stage 2 over an hour. I've been searching aden, TI, and gludin, but seen none of snowman.

That's not very helpful. Are you saying that every so often, a snow man will appear and 1 person can kill it, and collect a handful of items to start raising the level of 1 tree somewhere in the world, assuming that they choose to do so? That is almost as insane as you expecting us to buy a my teleport book, then an item to mark locations down, AND THEN another item to use the marked location.

i know that sace the point on this is that only the really lucky ones can get out of this enough stockings to change it at santa girl for a present and at this rate its useles for many people to even participate in it

I see. So the tree buff description is wrong. and the null.error.item which gives no buff icon is what replenishes vitality. That makes this event even worse than originally described. What on earth were you thinking when you thought this would be a good idea? Certainly, a player does not need to aquire 10 items to raise a tree level. But a 100 still need to be collected and given. There is no way to tell how many have been given, and there is little incentive for someone to toss away their 10 and then have no idea when that tree will level up. Oh sure, they get 50 stockings, that's half a box that you know is going to give you a junk 9/10. Real classy adding low grade scrolls to the prize boxes. Oh now I bet you are going to try and argue that d grade scrolls are relevant rewards once again now that we have new players: THEY ARENT. If you bothered to play your own game, low grade scrolls are even more pointless as players dont stay at low enough levels to actually need/appreciate an enchanted weapon. It's a waste of time and money now more than it ever was to "gear up". Half the time you get the stuff for free now anyways, giving them enchant scrolls just encourages players that dont know better to lose all their stuff! So cruel ncsoft, so cruel. You punish us high level players with worthless scrolls as prizes and then burden the unsuspecting lowbie player base with the same scrolls!
I was really looking forward to this event. Even a 15 minute buff of vit replenishment (And lets not kid our selves, most players will only ever see that tree at level 2 now) can be used effectively, but it appears that the corporate motto of "no fun allowed" is still alive and well at ncsoft.

Pretty clear to me that the reason they changed it from how it was originally stated is because they want to push more vitality cash shop sells. Sace has made it very clear that things are working how they think they should work. Remember, we wouldn't have any incentive to buy their vitality "holiday" cakes if we could just keep going back to the tree and get it for free for the rest of the month. Very dirty on ncsoft's part. In before someone justifies it all with "businesses have to make money" fallacy, as if they aren't already making money and haven't been for the past 8 years. I hope this doesnt set the tone for the rest of the games life.
Being polite has never helped the lineage 2 player base. They were going to make us continue to pay a monthly fee and force a cash shop on us before we all raged about it. The last time the player base was polite about anything was in 2004 or so, when we politely asked them to fix the bot problem and they promptly banned over a thousand concerned players from the forums because they made the word "bot" censored, said the discussion was over, and people for obvious reasons disregarded that rule
well naturally theyll think of the cash shop too its the way they make money now in f2p and if they dont make that money you can say good bye to L2 servers when theyll close them cuz no money makin
and NCSoft compared to Blizzard is a lil puppy on this matter now that is a genius company on how to milk out the cash from people

When you get the Lvl 5 tree buff you get the vitality item in your inventory. Clicking on it gives your char. the red glow and allows you to regain vitality when you hunt.
When i open the boxes from the event then i get elixir of life r grade from it and the reword list dont say anything about elixir..

Not meaning to rag on you too harshly, but you told us that this wouldn't happen again. That you wouldn't be given the wrong information and you wouldn't communicate it to us. Who exactly is making these changes that you are not aware of? Aren't you suppose to be apart of that process? How about instead of getting the "description" fixed, you fix the effect instead? That would make everyone much more happier. Personally, I was planning on abusing the free vitality, but I was going to purchase a couple 7 day exp runes to go with it. I really don't see why I should now. 50% exp isnt that much to me, at least not somethign that is worth paying for every week. 250% is a different story. That's my personal feeling but I know I'm not alone in this.
Ideally you'd want every player to buy every time every week but that's never going to happen. Ncsoft shouldn't punish us for their unrealistic expectations. I suggest that you communicate to your marketing team that they need to stop being so greedy. I'm sure they've sold your bosses a nice little story that has absolutely no basis in reality. That's how these things tend to go when you don't have any actual experience with the product. I imagine more players would be willing to buy this and that if you gave a little in return. And again, with the 7 day hats. You'd sell more if they were perm. The 5 second bonus buffs with the 10 hour reuses are not that desirable. People pay 150m adenas in game for hats BECAUSE THEY LOOK NICE, not because they have the fire work or big head ability! Get some of your pencil pusher in game for heavens sakes.
Whoever it is that is in charge, they continue to make poor cash shop decisions that lack any kind of common sense from the player's perspective. Perhaps you all feel as moderator 1 and really don't care about our concerns. But you should care about the cash you make, and you could be making more. Case in point, if you are going to charge us an arm and a leg for my teleport, at least have the decency to put it all together in a neat little package with a slight discount over the individual items so we don't see/feel how clearly you are nickle and diming us. That's basic customer management 101 stuff.
The problem I had with the Vitality-maintaining ornament (apart from the no.name item but it actually does work when you click on it, and it keeps your vitality as it is or replenishes it if you lost it), is that the website says that it has a reuse delay of 4 hours, and that it will be deleted upon the end of the event.
The thing is when I clicked on it, it disappeared. Does that mean it will indeed disappear, and even if I run into another stage 5 tree and get a new one, I won't be able to use it if I have JUST used it , at least until the 4 hours are gone, or does it mean that once I have the item, it's supposed to remain in the inventory and just be used every 4 hours?
That's my doubt. Because mine has vanished, and I am not sure whether that's working as intended, and I have to pass through another lvl 5 tree, or if there's something wrong with it.

Thought the website says it, the in-game icon don't. It's kinda confusing.
I figured it out!
So... it's like this. The item disappears. You have an hour of the red aura around you in which the vitality apparently replenishes (What I've seen on my Spellhowler was that it kind of remained the same... didn't see it going up as fast as it was going down, but at least it didn't go down).
Then let's say you get another item right away. If you try to use it, it will give you a CD warning. While the item disappears when you use it, the CD remains anyways. If you get another one right away, you won't be able to use it until the 4 hours have passed.
The vitality with the buff doesn't go up goes down!!!
YES the Tree's blessing is a lie! vit goes down! Doesn't recover! WHY you do this to us NCSoft???
BTW the noitemname is good it restores vit so its ok and doesnt use our 5 vit items.
I bought 100 star ornament in the Grocer and now i dont know where to redeem them. The girl in red tells me that only redeeming red stockings. So where do I redeem the ornaments that I bought at the grocer?
The Tree Buff is not replenishing vitality while I am exping. In fact, it is nearly down to 1/2. I don't know if it is because of the Mentor Buffs or what. But it is not working me for me.
I even tried using the star I got in my inventory from the tree *while* the tree buff was up. I had the red glowing ball of dust in the center of my toon, and still, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo vitality replenishment.
What is going on here?

I got vitality star yesterday, ofc it has name : NoItemName (1), when I used it it gave me pink aura like from vita replenishing items on 1 hour. I could not get it when I had this buff on me and a star in inventory so after using it got another from stage 5 tree.
This buff is on your buffbar, if I had debuff from my lion summon on tank, debuff was near invisible vit star buff :)
They of course should stack in inventory and be able to collect them more than 1. And this 4 hrs reuse sux <.<

There is no reuse to take 2nd item. You can't have 2 items in your inventory. So, you have to use one, to get 2nd. :)

Come on ...meh thers already after 1 day a huge gap between farmers and normal players, they camp the grouch spots to get the ornaments and camp the tress to spam the npc to exchange the ornaments to get the stockings for present and staging up the trees
was early reading a chat between a farmer and normal player and farmer was braging on how he already has tons of presents and is going to make millions out of it and the normal player was begging him to let him kill the grouch and a min later the farmer brags on how he got 16 new presents thats 1600 stockings ffs

I totaly agree. I was really looking for xmas event and it is a disappointment.
This event would be much better if simple changes were made:
-> All the trees were integrated (all get the same stage)
-> The vitality item was recycled (you use it and it gives you 1 hour buff with 4 hours CD and it vanishes at the end of the event)
-> The number of ornaments were higher (this way ppl would work together to get the trees on stage 5)
-> There were more snow man crunch to drop more items.
-> The tree buff could be better so ppl would work to stage it up.
-> And the rewards could be USEFULL (who the hell needs scroll to put a D armor back to unidentified?)

Why didn't you just put the holiday cape in the L2 store FFS, This event is a waste. the items are useless. Giran santa girl was knock all the way outside almost out of town. Somehow L2 staff didnt see this one coming. She hidden in a corner. I tried to knock her back in town but now she is stuck in a corner and im an archer so i got no pull skill.

lol, are you serious? My Vitality bar barely moves when I get this buff... something must be wrong.
well the rewards list hasn't been updated,but I can tell you that 10k SP scrolls are one of the mystery rewards.
This event has very little items useful to 85+ players and small chance of getting a item of use to a 85+ player. I honestly want to say the event was intended for the new influx of players. I just went and created a lowbie to farm. Much cheaper and faster. I've done a few boxes and all I get are D junk and binding scrolls of various grades highest I got was S. The time it takes to get 100 stockings isn't worth the pitiful rewards. Let's hope in the future events that you can win items or chose to purchase in the L2 store because some of us are just that lazy and get sick of being jerked around with low rewards for the efforts.
And btw where's the special Christmas trees dang it!! I hoard those for AOE parties!!! My stock is below 100 trees! :(

Anyone got problem like me when I receive stage 5 buff at the trees but couldn't get the Vit restore Item, I tried many times but useless, look very carefully in my inv & the system message but only buff that I can get, no Vit Item. Anyone please help me!
Personally, I think this event is awesome. I've already gotten almost 10k stockings just by myself, and my list of loot isn't crappy either. To you people complaining about getting EADs, get over it. It's a random chance and yes, you will get d grade items, that's how it works. I have a buttload of them but at the same time I've gotten 3-4 S grade Seal scrolls for weapons and armor, 2 R 85 High grade Life stones, 3 temporary cloaks(2 30 day and 1 7 day)500k SP scrolls, other SP scrolls, and only a few elixirs and enchant scrolls, so closing in on 100 items now.
For the record, I have WAY more seal scrolls than I do enchant scrolls in total, and in higher grades, so it seems you have a better chance of getting seal scroll vs an enchant scroll from what I've seen, which isn't too bad at all. I'm not sure why everyone here seems to think it takes ages to get stockings, it doesn't. I didn't see anyone in this thread complimenting the event yet, and I know why, those people are in game right now getting stockings while you guys are moaning about not being able to /pickup fast enough.
I'll leave you whiners with a few tips to *maybe* get you into the holiday spirit of accepting FREE ITEMS(you don't have to buy the grocer ornaments if you're poor due to grouches so...no, not just for "rich" people)
1. Snowman spawns are 1-15 mins give or take, it's "random" in between that time period or close.
2. Snowmen always drop the same ornament in the same spot, so if you got bows off them in a certain corner of a town, you will always get bows from that corner of town.
3. Each town has multiple snowman spawn points, I've killed one on one side of town and instantly I see another snowman spawn on the other side of town, since I'm watching it with an alt. So the timer can indeed be very, very quick, but never on the same spawn spot that you just killed it on.
4. My suspicion is that only 1 snowman can spawn at any time, per town, and each town has 3-5 spots where the two kind of snowmen spawn, I *think*. I've never seen two at once spawned but I've seen them spawn within 10 seconds of a kill.
5. You always have to be watching to get snowmen, but that doesn't necessarily mean not being able to do other stuff like grind on your main, just find a way to minimize the game in a corner of the screen so you can see when he spawns. He dies instantly from most hits and his loot takes maybe 2-3 seconds to drop once he dies, so it's gone very fast.
6. Disable sound in your active clients and leave it on with whoever you are watching a spawn with, you will hear him spawn and be attacked, giving you time to alt tab.
7. If a lot of nerds are around afk and holding down their /pickup keys with a rock or tape or whatever, lure them away by dropping low value items on the ground until they are too far to run over to the snowman's loot, or lure them outside of town and kill them on a pk, your choice!
My final tip is that the tree is on a specific timer, but what it is I won't reveal, work that part out for yourselves, it's not too difficult. And regardless of if you camp trees/snowmen whatever, this event goes on for what, 2 weeks? Even if you just grind like normal you will find plenty of stockings by the time the event is done, sure you probably won't get a perma cloak, but that's the ultimate reward for this event, so don't expect it, I certainly don't.
I hope this helps a few of the people who are confused about the event and just want to participate, and I hope anyone angry at NCsoft for not getting tons of free stuff for zero effort breeze over this post and ignore my tips!

Even if you just grind like normal you will find plenty of stockings by the time the event is done, sure you probably won't get a perma cloak, but that's the ultimate reward for this event, so don't expect it, I certainly don't.
I hope this helps a few of the people who are confused about the event and just want to participate, and I hope anyone angry at NCsoft for not getting tons of free stuff for zero effort breeze over this post and ignore my tips!

You don't have to farm and camp all day, do what you do and grind normally, you'll get stockings. So what if you can't get as many as people that are willing to put time into the actual event? Wah wah poor baby, it barely takes any of my attention to occasionally kill a grouch and finding a tree's timer is ridiculously easy if you have any common sense whatsoever(HINT people standing near trees idling). I've been out-clicked on trees, omgomg it's the end of the world right? No, it isn't. Go find any of the other 5 or whatever trees and try again, you get many attempts per day to get 500 stockings in one go, or more, and that over the entire event period will still equal up to a lot of stockings.
The grouches aren't hard to get loot from, at all. Everyone has a fair chance of getting the ornaments as there are no loot rights, so if your computer sucks, that's your problem, or if your internet connection sucks, that's also your problem. That's how it works in any mmo and crying like a baby doesn't usually get you far.
But yeah, it's the start of the event and you expect spots to be free and not have to bust your *** against players and bots? Are you aware what game you're playing?
That is with a very good party as I am getting 1.6m xp/mob. At low levels I didn't see any move on my vp bar tho :s
Fair point. But I'm killing at Mithril Mines/Plains of Lizardmen and they've very good solo XP spots though. Getting 100-200k per mob and I one-shot most of them...

and about the timer easy? unless you stand there by a tree everytime it gets on stage 5 you wont have the timer you can be 5min late and youll end up standin there for 2h

I don't think the argument here is about the fact your multi boxing. No normal human playing this game can do it for 24 hours a day non stop as you've been suggesting. 10k stocking since maint ended? Unless you've been botting it since then in a aoe party with all your toons MAYBE,but I was doing a normal grind on a low toon and never cleared 100 in an hour. Chronos drop rates are not really all that high to be honest. And the trees don't appear in the "5 towns or whatever" as you said so I don't think you even have it straight. The trees appear in RUNE,ADEN and TALKING ISLAND just to clarify that fact for you.

No, nothing is suspicious. You're just lazy as hell and just cause you can repeat "16h a day" doesn't mean it's true, I've gotten 2k stockings in the span of 2-3 hours a couple times, that means I potentially could have had all my stockings within this magical time limit you're saying, when it's been 2 days already(48 hours in case you don't know).

lol, are you serious? My Vitality bar barely moves when I get this buff... something must be wrong.
That's how I did it:
got the vitality items on two characters (both are on the same account);
did the SoA instance (30 minutes) with the first character, refilled about 50%;
logged on the other character and did the instance again: 100% vitality restored, with the vitality buff still lasting on both toons. :)
Is it necessary to start decorating the tree from stage 1 to recive vita replanish item. I put 100bow ornaments to stage 4 tree and I only got stockings as a reward.
Anyone got problem like me when I receive stage 5 buff at the trees but couldn't get the Vit restore Item, I tried many times but useless, look very carefully in my inv & the system message but only buff that I can get, no Vit Item. Anyone please help me!

Quick update: in researching some of the issues players are reporting about the event, we've discovered a localization error in the cloak descriptions. The time-limited cloaks do offer the decreased inventory slots and weight reduction, but the permanent version of the cloak is cosmetic only. We have submitted this as a bug to have the cloak descriptions for 7-day, 30-day, and permanent be rewritten, and we are updating the event page to display the correct descriptions. We sincerely apologize for this misinformation.
Also, regarding Santa Girl, we are aware of the issue and have already submitted a bug report for this, and we will get a fix as soon as possible.
The NoNameItem item and description has been fixed. There was no downtime maintenance for the fix, but you need to "Repair" your client to see the change.

Are you seriously trying to imply that the entire server can access content that you yourself have already claimed to have on nolifefarm status? They can't. One guy can do it, or maybe a handful of people even if the entire server tries to do what you do. People who hunt for stockings will get anywhere from 5 to 10 an hour until prime time, then that gets bumped up to 100-200 an hour for about 6 hours. The rewards do not justify the drop rate or turn in. The only people who can gather enough stockings to access a reasonable amount from the prize pool are the handful of no life, unemployed, children who know the tree timers in advance and who go so far as to steal the grouch items with alt box bots. I can't believe you would proudly proclaim this. Do you enjoy negative attention or something?
And to Sace: another translation error? Really? Sounds like a "community manager who didn't test a single thing beforehand" error to me. Why not put in a request to change the item effect rather than the description? Once again you make the wrong choice as far as the community is concerned. We want items as described. We want prize lists as stated. Fixing it after the fact doesn't change the fact you messed up in the first place. This is a mmorpg, not a single player game. People's time has been wasted. People's money, gone. This is your last chance so to speak. You guys killed lineage 2 in north america with your mishandling of the community and were lucky that the concept of f2p/cash shop is now an industry norm. Stop making the same mistakes you made in the past. There isn't going to be another goddess update to bring people back. Ever. And since you made it a point to force us into the nclauncher, every time you anger a f2p lineage customer, you turn them off from your other games as well, and they tell their friends that they don't like ncsoft and it just gets worse for everyone >:|
The Tree Buff is not replenishing vitality while I am exping. In fact, it is nearly down to 1/2. I don't know if it is because of the Mentor Buffs or what. But it is not working me for me.
I even tried using the star I got in my inventory from the tree *while* the tree buff was up. I had the red glowing ball of dust in the center of my toon, and still, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo vitality replenishment.
What is going on here?
P.S. Isn't there a testing phase that goes on before content is released?
The Tree's Blessing does not replenish Vitality. This is a change made to the event the day before it began, and it was not possible to rewrite the existing items before the event launched (unless it were to be delayed). We updated the website and announced these changes on the forums and via login announcement. Now we have implemented the rewrite for the item itself (you need to "Repair" the client through the NCsoft launcher to see the change).
There was a testing phase before the event, yes. Unfortunately the sudden changes to the event the day before it started caused problems, but we are working with headquarters with the goal of avoiding this kind of situation in the future.
About the miracle of tree item:
-How long is the "cooldown" to recieve another item? Can I take one in differents trees? Can I have more than one in my inventory?

You can only have 1 Miracle of the Tree in your inventory at a time. You can have it in your inventory while you also have the buff on (from using a Miracle of the Tree item that you had previously).
It takes 2 hours for a Stage 5 tree to go back to Stage 1.
I got the 7 day santa girls cloak, but it says that it cannot be equiped because my set is not full. What does it means?
To unlock the cloak slot, you must be wearing a full set of S- or S80-grade armor, or be wearing a R-grade chest armor.
Is there a certain place grouches are spawning in town? Or do they do they spawn in random spots?

I believe they spawn in one designated location only. All monsters drop the stockings but not at a 100% drop rate. Remember you need to be within the monster’s level range for it to drop items for you.

I'm sorry that I want to spend my time actually raising a character in the game world and not having to *just* sit at a grouch spawn for hours on end. Nobody is going to do that, least of all when there are more than 2 or 3 people at the spawn, how many times are you going to let the grouch spawn, let others take the loot(or only gain 2-3 ornaments), before you leave? 2 hours? 4 hours? Just sitting there and not doing something else, like grinding on an alt or watching a movie? NCSoft did mess up a bit in that snowman spawns are random in a certain time period and that means you *always* have to watch if you want anything, but I'm pretty sure they don't expect you to put everything on hold to sit there on one character doing nothing, wouldn't that kind of completely negate the vit recovery buff we've been given? And, snowmen don't even give exp!
For all the people saying "you no life this", I've already explained I've gotten 2K stockings within two hours, multiple times, and that includes camping & filling the tree. For instance, today I logged in and all the spots I use were completely vacant(2 grouch spawns)so I had a good start, and when I got to the tree there was like 10+ people around, all afk. No bots or other competing players caused me to get roughly 4k stockings since I woke up(4ish hours ago), while actually being able to grind normally on my main character and not be bored out of my skull.
Everyone here knows the majority of players here duo or trio or heck I've already seen entire bot armies, so please excuse me if I don't really believe all this outrage over using an alt(yes, one alt) to watch a spawn for me, which anyone really interested in getting a cloak, is doing. Much less when the spawns I'm using are completely empty, and not anything like you describe.
The problem here is people need to read the official info and not go on word of mouth, a lot of you seem to think that it's impossible to do this event yet I'm on one of the most populated servers and have no issues, there are times of day when it's easier to do. If you can't handle that, then grinding normally and getting stockings that way will have to be your thing.
Also, where does this information that stockings only drop more often at prime time come from? I didn't see this anywhere and my assumption was that certain mobs had a higher drop rate than others, which is exactly what I observed today. I don't see it on the official info page so I'd like a link to where you saw that, thanks!

I went to santa girl with my 200 red socks and crossed fingers for a CLOAK before trading! OMG , the crossing fingers worked and I got a CLOAK with my first 100 red soaks! I felt so happy and above all LUCKY as they have announced it on lineage II chritmas event story! With a big smile on my face I traded my 2nd 100 red soaks and I got a enchant wepon C! Which was not bad at all. So I found myself a nice little cozzy spot and I clicked on the the RED CLOAK eagerly. Nothing! Didn't work! I clicked again...Nothing!! Again and again...nothjing! The cloak was still in my bag looking at me with a big red smile! I clicked again and read the message displayed ,which said that ,YOU DONT HAVE FULL ARMOR SET! huh! Very wiered I had my full dark crystal 4 peieces set on !
I messaged a friend and explained what is going on. He said I was LUCKY but the cloak is for lvl 70 + ! I messaged another ,and she said it is for lvl 75+!
So it was clear, this event is all about to be LUCKY to get a CLOAK that you can't wear!!HAHA! And they call this christmas event gift 2012! A gift that lasts 7 days even if I could wear it!
I had no other choice left but to THROW away the sanata girls cloak :(

After destroying my event gifts ,I received a message from another friend telling me , that he just traded his soaks and he has gotten enchant wepon D! haha

Good and Funny post Endza. You are right ,they better stop calling this nonsense event ,christmas event. I was expecting something better,original and outstanding. But unfortunatly my beloved game LineageII failed big time for the biggest celebration of the year.

This christmas event is one of the worse events that I have experienced in my Lineage life since Beta ! My friends are suprised as well. I realy hope that NCSOFT will take a look at your post and our post with an interest and prevent to come up with events as horrible as this.
Here's the thing about the grouch. I camped a spot for an hour just to see. He will only drop 10 items per spawn and I killed him like 6 times or so. When I was able to find a tree accepting the bows I got about 300 or so stockings just from 60 bows. Personally it is a waste of time trying to camp the grouch. Other people will show up and take some of the drops from you anyways. I've tried many gift boxes and the best I got was two 7 day cloaks. I don't think you'll have better luck either way. At least if you kill something you're xping over fighting for the grouch drops. Not to mention people are dragging the santa girl away from the trees and that issue needs to be fixed. The Giran girl is way around the back of the church behind some pillars. Gludio I can't even find her, someone probably dragged her into a clan hall. I've send the GM many tickets and all I get is auto replies...bravo there.
The best I've seen anyone get is a 30 day cloak. The perma one I think is a rare win like a weapon. I really think this event minus the cloak was directed to noobs. What do I want with D and C junk I can't sell? I got warehouses full of cubics for scrolls.
I think the transform events on FI were more a better deal,I realize there's too many people now to do such an event on FI,but possibly make special zones for these at least people have a chance to collect items in masses to win something.
ETA: I liked the server before F2P tbh. Its not really the same community it was,the customer service is going back to the same ol,bots are back and getting worse by day.

Enjoying this event to the max! First I was picking up the stockings ( I dont bother picking up any of my loot, must reach 85!!), but now I don't even bother with that!
This event is amazing I can xp with full vitality all the time :D I would gladly sacrifice all the fancy cloaks for that!
Lineage II had a good repution when it came to events. That is why I titled my post worse christmas event ever !

I was hoping that Lineage II will come up with an event to MARK not only christmas but also it's 1st year going free! On Chronos, Santa Girl has been on the move. It's almost a running joke there.
Lol I was in Aden earlier today looking for her so I /target her and find her staring at the wall, made me laugh.
Event buff is rly nice , helps in exp and pvp. I also go some low materials in that reward but hey we got exp freez and buff, so im kinda happy about this event. Would be nice to have some Christmas epic raid event like giant snowman with low damage but lots of hp so he only could be killed with 200+ players and spawning 3-4 times a day, dropping some Santa hats would be nice in this time :P
This event does suck. Whatever happened to the christmas event like on the original Lineage. Snowmen and reindeer would spawn all over the world and have high chance to drop Nzels, Ndai, Bzels and Bdai among either useful items..
For those of you who dont know Nzel=enchant armor, and Ndai=enchant weapon. B just means blessed. I think l2 should consider events similar to the first lineage all of its events were fun and rewarding.

So it was clear, this event is all about to be LUCKY to get a CLOAK that you can't wear!!HAHA! And they call this christmas event gift 2012! A gift that lasts 7 days even if I could wear it!
I had no other choice left but to THROW away the sanata girls cloak :(
I couldnt wear it! I couldnt trade it! I couldnt sell it! The only option that I had was to put it away in the warehouse and wear it when I was lvl 70 or 75 !!!! haha
By the time I get to that lvl , the christmas is over and I don't want to run around with a red christmas cloak on my shoulder for 6 or 7 days! haha!
So my mind was set up, I took my cloak and destroyed it! I did the same thing to my enchant wepon C..I couldn't trade or sell ,and had no need of that either :(
After destroying my event gifts ,I received a message from another friend telling me , that he just traded his soaks and he has gotten enchant wepon D! haha
he was lvl 70 and very very disapointed!
Anyways enjoy your WORSE CHRISTMAS EVENT presented by LINEAGEII! I just don't understand why they call this christmas event! I guess they have ran out of good ideas or maybe too busy to have figure out something better and funer for the occasion.

obviously the seal scrolls exist so that the d and c grade players can reseal the free 30 day gear they get for leveling up... oh wait they can't do that either.. .what exactly IS the point of those scrolls?
When do the grouches and trees dissapear? Need to know when is the latest I can turn in ornaments :)

can be exhanged/destroyed or stored in private WH. cannot be dropped.
no more informations about safe enchant (on usual scrolls, u can read safe enchant +3 or smtg like that)

Event is complete FAIL. as always with NC events. Nothing new here.
Waiting in town, looking at wall how paint dry, waiting snowman to spawn, and then get all drop picked by others. who are most likely bots...

Come on NC! why you can't try more? And at least once make bot proof event that would be enyoable?
Need ideas? Ask in forum! I'm sure a lot people would help you with ideas.
If you're too lazy to do some serious code, do something simple - daily or 6 hour reset solo instance with same rewards! But stop dropping items from mobs or making "pick up item faster than others" type events!
If you are talking about the Santa Girl's Cloak, it isn't tradable.
I like the event, except for one thing. I wish you would make the limited period Santa Girl's Cloak so that the time on it doesn't start until you put it on. I haven't opened any of my gift boxes because if I get a limited period cloak I can't wear it because I haven't reached S grade yet.
It is one week and some time from even start... and the even page on web still isn't updated... Is it really that hard, to give proper info on time?... Actually... I think noone is reading this thread anymore... and if... they keep ignoring all the ideas and requests...
Tho... no hard feelings... it's free game now... so no wonders nothing is done as it should be. It should be expected to get worse support.
Anyway... Good work with providing all support and fun for this game. At least you tried with this event, even if it was a little let down after all those great events before.

I'm a bit saddened by this event. I got the cloak from the box, which cannot be used until I get a finished armor set, which is far away from me as I'm still 68lvl, so I was thinking why would you put rewards that don't fit with the levels of all? WHY?
Agreed. I just got a 7-day cloak on a lv58 toon. I figured that, because Event items can theoretically be made to "break the rules", that they could have made it so that these cloaks (or at least the time limited ones) can be worn no matter what -- throw us a bone here, guys, it's XMAS ^_^ If the cloak were permanent, I wouldn't mind so much, I'd just throw it into the Warehouse for a while and snag it once I could use it. Maybe a solution would be to keep them as No-trade/no-sell, but just have the game REPLACE all time-limited cloaks with the permanent one (even if you had one and it expired; surely the game keeps internal logs that can track that). I even submitted a report about it. Maybe if enough people do it, they'll take notice >_> (then again, I played Aion as well, not holding my breath)
Tree is always in Stage 2 or Stage 5. Event doesn't work in Chronos :confused::confused:

Wasted got to it first. I have literally seen trees drop to Stage 1, and then jump to Stage 4 within ten seconds. I got a Grinch ONCE and got lucky enough to turn in his ornaments one time, ever >_< That, and I wasted some adena on the store-bought ornaments, too, just like most of us.

are those "scroll of enchant armor or weapon event" can be used safelly with +4 or more ?That's actually a good question. What you're looking for are BLESSED scrolls. Whether they are from the Event or not is irrelevant:
For normal Scrolls: Each time you attempt to Enchant over the "limit" listed on the scroll, there is a 1 in 3 chance that you will destroy the item.
For Blessed scrolls: Still a 1 in 3 failure chance (iirc), but a failure will simply reset the weapon/armor as if you had never enchanted it at all, so you can re-enchant it (in other words, +0). The item will NOT be destroyed
re: Community Manager -- I can't speak for Sace specifically, but most or all CM's for ANY game I have ever played are generally NOT part of the Development nor Programming teams; they are usually either employees from another tier or from outside of the company who were hired to be CM's. Their job is to deal with all of us ^_^ and pass word back and forth as much as is practical between us and the dev team. They generally have little to no actual power as far as changing the game goes; that's above their pay grade, so to speak.
Even when we're all ticked about something in the game that IS ridiculous (like the event dropping temporary cloaks that only a small percentage of people can USE at this point due to all the new players like me -- if they had done this a year from now it would not have been a major issue), all the CM's can do is take notes and report to the higher-ups. With all due respect to Sace and to the Devs, how likely is it that someone who is getting a salary as a Dev would be given CM duty as a regular thing when they have in-game stuff to deal with? Devs do post here from time to time, but note that it actually *calls* them that in their Profile boxes...
edit: Someone made a comment about Sace passing on incorrect info from the Dev team...I have a question for that user: Tell me, if you would, please...If someone in the Dev team DID give Sace information which was not entirely true and asked that it be passed on to us, how, exactly, would Sace know that the info was inaccurate, short of outright being told?
Oh no please, no! I won Santa Girl's Cloak 30-day limited period! Ahhhh that's not fair I want her forever. Never won anything good events. Gain has a term to expire? It's not fair. I want to stay forever! It would be like a real gift.

event for me for more than useful with those 3 high grade unbind scrolls. I don't think everyone should get all the top rewards for it to be a "good event".

I like the idea to have a buff/item to regularly recover vitality. I think they should implement a npc or a quest to daily give us 1h vitality recovery.... or keep this event forever !

While we are on the topic of the website documentation of the event:
The main part of the event will be over in a few hours and there is still no update concerning the "additional" not yet listed rewards that can be obtained from the gift boxes.
I know that there must be a chance to get enchantment scrolls of destruction, but a complete official list of the possible rewards would be nice....
FYI, it's been determined that Santa Girl's Gift Boxes will be removed from the game when the event ends on January 11, 2012, as it is an event item. Please be sure to open any Santa Girl's Gift Boxes you have before that day's maintenance begins!
As you know, all other event items and NPCs will leave the game at that time as well.
