Your own definition of carebear?

I've heard a few definitions of the term carebear when it comes to mmorpgs, and I'm curious, what's the most common meaning, or even your OWN personal meaning?
I know it's rather derogatory for the most part, but I also hear different variations.

Example 1. Someone who doesn't like pvp.
Example 2. Someone who doesn't like pvp and performs 'cowardly' acts to get out of it. (running to a guard npc when a red player attacks)
Example 3. Same as 2, but they whine about it in all caps.

I'm probably what you'd call a carebear in that I don't participate in pvp.
At first, it was from a simple disinterest, then because I'm still getting used to the game and don't quite know how to play my character in such a situation...
Now, it's because I don't want to work off the negative karma since that would be difficult at my character's level.
Someone who spams chat asking for a GM to ban me for KSing
Someone who cant pvp without some illegal 3rd party software.
Someone who makes a complaint over the most insignificant aspect of the game, usually brought on by their own flaws.

Carebear originally referred to anything to make stuff easier for people. It has slowly mutated into a weapon of self deception so gankers and griefers can pretend they are more "core" than other players for being complete *****. In all honesty, the original L2 pvp system was pretty carebear because of how exploitable it was.
For me it's only the guys who neglect to take part in the official PvP side of the game, wich you can do and I am fine with it.

when I am not fine with it is when those carebears complain about server politics when they effectively removed themselves from being a factor.

Like complaining current clan dominating has too high taxes, when they don't even challenge them or don't form part of an allliance to bring them down.

Not having a desire to take part in petty PvP while hunting I can understand, I have limited time to play nowadays and I hate it when some small ***** player insists I "PvP" him while I'm leveling up. It's not attractive, I gain nothing from it, I disrupt my leveling process and in-game I achieve nothing either.

Not my fault you are bored out your rear beause you don't level up properly and are behind the curve of big clans and you don't care to play the market to gear yourself up. with the latest release it's even more pointless to engage in random PvP over a hunting spot before level 76.

So there are few "real" carebears anyways.

You only get negative Karma from PKing; PKing is not PvP, PvP is consensual, and not in the "ask for permission" sense, but in the "they hit back when you attack".

You only get negative reputation and a red name when you kill a character who never ofught back.
Hmmm this is funny since I've always considered myself a carebear, and yet don't fall into any of the definitions so far in this thread.

I like to PvP and mostly will only play on PvP servers if given a choice since it adds an element of danger, but I pretty much never initiate an attack and in factions games I have waved to and even helped out people on the other side if they are getting overwhelmed in a PvE fight.

I never "whined" about a game mechanic. I have voiced my opinion if there is one that I don't quite agree with, and defended my point of view (of course some people consider that whining since it goes against their point of view). But I have never spammed a forums with threads hoping to get my way. I also don't whine if killed by someone; if I can't hunt there because of PKs then I'll move on (I usually have 2-3 different MMOs I play at any given time so if all areas I need are on lock down I'll just log into another game, go watch TV, or play with/read to my son (this option only been viable for the last 2 months)).

I have ran to guards and such to get away from a PK, but don't consider that cowardly since most times the PK won't attack you until your engaged with a mob or are probably low health/mana, or they are a higher level (5+); to me those guys are the cowards and don't deserve the kill.

I guess I consider myself a carebear for the most part because I generally am a nice guy in game, and will help an "enemy" out rather than gank them if given the opportunity. Now if they have killed me before while I was fighting a mob or otherwise engaged (obviously lowhealth/mana or whatever) then all bets are off and I will gank them if given the opprotunity.
That's not carebear, that's common sense and a reasonable way to play. *high five*
