I know everyone says it's all about play style, but judging by the last 7 years this isn't true, lets get a real discussion about the opinions of the community in regards to the best PVP and the best PVE classes so far... (it's too soon to tell is not a real answer)

You don't think wizards count as an awakened class?
I don't really like my knight. Yes, it's a needed class at the moment, but let's be clear: Sigel Knight is even less complex and deep than a level 74 knight* of any type. They removed so many skills from each knight that it feels grossly dumbed down. The new chain skill stupidifies pulling so much that even an idiot can do it (but leading the next pull still requires effort and timing). No root makes it more difficult to actually lead the next monster. No heal skills like Touch of Life or Sacrifice or no lvl 83 awesome skills leaves me feeling like a dumbed down Hell Knight. I could go on and on. Those who think our miscellaneous skills that most people never used were useless are people who never learned to play their class expertly in the first place.
Looking at the skill list, I doubt the situation will improve much by 99.
The only good thing about GoD for us knights who like putting in a lot of effort is the hunting grounds themselves. While the knight class itself is oversimplified, you really do have to put some honest effort into targeting and being aware of your surroundings. The new areas are good fun so far.
I dislike the new class system in nearly every way. The only good thing is the fact that dwarves can now be anything they want.
*-let's ignore the fact that a level 74 knight at this point cannot function because it's too low level to do most of the things it's designed for. It has the skills to be quite versatile.
ok then let me ask what is a "stronger" class? being basic or not if 2 players with equal skills would play a sigil knight and tyr warrior who would win? and who would be more effective in pve?
From what I've seen its either Faoh Or Wynn.. but I'm basing this on how many cool effects I see in a fight... Seriously, whats up with the trees spawning from nowhere.. ;)
I created a dark elf to become a wynn summoner and stopped at lvl 67.
Now i have an Abyss Walker and want to be othell rogue/sub yul archer.
Now, reading this topic, i think "did I make a good decision?"
What´s better? Othell Rogue or Wynn summoner?
Take into consideration 1vs1 pvp, mass pvp, oly and sieges.
Could someone who has tried them give me an opinion?
My first character was a summoner- I straight away knew what I wanted. I leveled her to 41 and forgot about her when I had the urge to play an archer (wtf?).
So I started an arbalester (named after my forum nick) and leveled her all the way to 53, and then suddenly had the urge to play an SK (wtf!?)
So I go on to play an SK (WittyRitz) and lvl her ALLLL the way to 50. I talk to a good friend of mine on FB and told him I moved to Shillen to play my SK, but he seemed disappointed about this choice and had hoped I'd be lvling with him in Magmeld. So, as I go on back online to play my SK, cuz that's what I wanted, I went to dig a bit more into what Tanks awaken into. Now, they seem pretty awesome, however I can't bear to lose ALL of the skills that make this class (SK) so fun. I was dissapointed.
So now... I'm back where I started, with my beautiful PS (LadyINTJ). Atleast with her, I don't mind losing most of my skills for new ones. Especially new summons. :D

only one answer to yours. LOL
Seriously, i laughed a lot.
But could someone tell me which one is... funnier? which has more surprises and don´t die 583476834598 times without doing nothing on siege or mass pvp?
Edit: Now i think ill stick with the abyss walker and sub into archer. As this game has a lot of mass pvp (sieges and other) and these classes are suitable for oly, too, i´ll use them :P
i do like my sigel knight - been a titan so far, i liked the simple and straight destructiv force of that class ... tank seems to be similar in some ways .. dps is not bad, some aoe skills and the new "drag mob to me"-skill is very cool and nice. Besides an orc look pretty awesome with shield and sword/blunt .. much better then wielding a dualblunt what i had to wear if id go warrior instead.

wow you make it sound like you worked soo hard lvling a few toons to 50.... rewind about 7 years and getting to 50 would have taken you months.

Oh don't get me wrong, knight is my favorite class in the game to play. I was complaining because they oversimplified the class in comparison to blue tag knights. A knight with a blue tag is much more fun and versatile imo than our new awakened knight. Instead of that we've got a bunch of lol DD skills that we can chain for 1-10 second debuffs. If your party is doing its job in pvp I would say you can pretty much shut down a healer long enough to kill it, but other than that the blue tag knights were more about tanking and less about having generic damage dealer skills.
The Awakening classes bundle all the included classes skills so you don't really lose anything. And even the skills themselves get bundled. So one skills does 3 things, and your DD skills are your vanguard skills.
I kind of like the Awakening, even with 4 bars, it was getting hard to find space for all the skills they were giving. I definitely like bundled buffs. "emp plz, mental shield. #i need haste. $anyone emp plz. "sry we already have sws, need bd.
I am seeing some replies that the awakened tank is less than exciting to play. I have to disagree with that. Yes, we lost some skills and gained some new ones, but change is good. And I have also seen that most of these folks playing tanks are not taking the time to "learn" the new diversity they have to offer.
First, in respect to the PVE tank soling for XP, its much better now because of the new damage skills.
In regards to a tank in group PVE, you must be more aware of what is happening. I see too many noob tanks not paying attention to what cubic/aura they have up and that can make a significant difference in how well the party survives or the speed of the kills.
In PvP, the tank has the same role as before (however most never played this properly) and that is to disrupt the DD's of the opponents team. There is more need for tactic in this role than there was before. Its a lot more fun to play as an awakened tank.
As with any type of character, its all about your play style. Playing a tank is a "thinking person" character, not just a run and gun type of toon.

This is probably why 95% of the L2 population will simply say "Knight sucks, I'll be imba with the Wiz(Kalifa)ard. Then when a real tank rolls them, they will cry about ebayed gear.

False. Many of the knight skills were literally removed. No tribunal for bonus melee damage (there is a new shield skill with a much lower land rate and a much shorter duration), shield mastery had its pdef bonus nerfed, there is no "hit me!" level 83 skill anymore, no sacrifice, no Touch of Life, no Vengeance, etc. Quite a few skills were removed. I'm not even seeing deflect arrow anymore on the list, though I may have missed it.
No archer in poll but I have heard really good things about archers post-awakening also their skills seem really nice and strong judging from what i've read/watched in videos, the skills which put them away from the opponent will definitely be nice.

But then again will have to see once I awaken.
I think Knights will be nice though.
ya sorry about the archer not being in the poll, I have heard that as well.
? huh
why do you have to massacre its name so bad? why just not write it "sigil night jajajaja"?
Just... just... NEVERMIND! My answer would be Siegel Knight.

Oh I see, ya, funny, I saw that after I quickly made this post /owned my grammar and writing skills rofl.
It's the new spoiler class. There, I talked about it... does it make you happy?
Yeah, it helped a lot.
(sarcasm mode OFF):
Does it make you happy to give stupid answers to other people?
Tell me something i can´t read at some pages with skills database (like this one: http://l2gc.com/db/ )
This post was made to talk about the strength of the different classes, so you can´t say i didn´t make an accurate question.
archers are by far best pvp class if ur group is somewhat decent
now if u judge archer of "first naia god archer" video then ye i agree looks like terribad class :P didnt comment on his video but if u learn to play ur self and dont do what this guy is doing archer is a beast of a toon
****** healers in 3 hits so far best i have done thus was against a geared healer who was **** good pre god
archers have good aoe prolly the highest speed of all classes the pet has cleanse buff <3 it but long cool down i believe
wtf mad self buff giving 70% more crit damage add that up with counter crit 170% more damage end game this buff give 100% more crit damage thus means 200% if counter crit pops madness crits going on ;)
