I'm tank, and I usualy use a DC light armor to grind, no big deal, bonuses are better for PVE :o and I don't take much damages. I just switch to a NM heavy for PVP with macros
I've seen loads of knight classes with the D grade mage sword. Also seen some epic PvE between a self-buffs-only PW(?) with tallum light/dark screamer and an antelope at WoA.
Some kid party me for Kamaloka. We were 3 in party, the **** enters.
I hit him once and tell him "******* moron". The idiot kills me, and says "noob".
Of course, he was from Brazil.
Yet I had a Brazilian guy help me with my WoA daily yesterday. He had very little English yet he was willing to group with me so I could get the credits for his kills as well. Then once I was done, he congratulated me, and was usually very nice throughout the whole thing.
this truly demonstrates how badly Lineage 2 explains it's mechanics within the game.
There is nothing telling you you are doing it wrong except for other players.
A summoner in hvy armor.
I'm switching from my DC robe to NM hvy set on my PS because in some kamalokas I participate with only my friend we're not using a tank. Mostly I get the agro even if my summon hits 4-5 times harder and my friend's WC nukes even harder. :s This heavy set combined with transfer pain reduces incoming damage quite nicely.
Beside this, seen an EE in the Ice Merchant Cabin doing the daily with a heavy set and duals. Not sure what he was up to but he switched to his recommended gear shortly when I spotted. o,O

^This.
My friend who just joined L2 was complaining about getting KSed by melee classes all the time, which I thought was pretty odd since she was making a spellsinger. Then I found out that she decked her toon in shiny non-robe armor. I don't think she even noticed that every other mage was casting way faster than she was.
ive seen several people so far in d grade armor and shiny c grade weapons moving very slowly and go OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TOON??!! x)
i usually try and explain the grade system then lol

This demonstrates NOTHING.
When I started playing L2 I read all active/passive skill descriptions, all guides in Library on lineage2.com and always followed the passive masteries (for armor and weapon).
So my first experience was pretty smooth :)
I really dislike people who doesn't read what their skills do (especially for passives) and do not read guides on the website (those guides are there for THEM).
Most of them expect the game will explain them everything. LOL, how can you make a tutorial for ALL Lineage 2 stuff?? XD It will be like 5 days of video watching XD
Really, new people must learn to FIRST try to find information on their own, and THEN ask other players. A player able to self-help will be a far better player :)
cruma tower be ****ed - i just spend 45 minutes halfkilling mobs in hardacks herp hole on talking island with a b grade mental shield dagger while berating my tank for failing to overcome a 400 ping targetting deficiency.
how can i laugh at anyone else? at least they just started... i'm a professional.
Subclass or not, dagger in karmian is somewhat startling.
For your information, Plated leather armor looks exactly same as Karmian robe on human mystic body type. It might be this case.
