I wanna buy a new PC system to play Lineage 2 GOD.
How can you suggest me the best system with about 500$ in good to play? And What are you using for GOD, Is it good or any issues???
Many Thanks
500$ ... not good enough. Basically your SSD, CPU, Mboard will eat up most of the money. You won't have enough cash for good videocard and you will probably buy low class VGA which is intented to be used for office PCs and you'll curse your PC :|
Beside that...you can check out Tom's hardware system builder marathons. They have good builds at around 500-600$ 1000$ and 2000$
But that this price range ... don't hope for miracles :|
my pc is 3 years old and runs GoD in High graphics pretty well
I have:
Phenom II x2 550 (2CPUs) 3.1ghz
4gb ram ddr3
ATI RHADEON HD 5500 with 1gb ram incorporated (ddr3)
The Mainboard is an MSI GX I do not remember the exact model and i can't find the box, but it brings an integrated ATI rhadeon hd 4550 graphics card
build up something similar and you'll be just fine, this set up csot me little less than 500$ 3 years ago now it may be even cheaper
There you go have at it; but as Sk1pper said don't expect to have a great gaming experience for $500. Most anything you get for around that price you'll be lucky to run decent at the lowest settings.
for $500 best you can do is a 60Gig Agility 3 for OS + lineage 2, an i3 2120, whichever $70 mobo you like, 4 gigs or ram, a gtx550 and with rebates you should have enough left over for a storage drive.
Graphics are all on high settings and they are perfect. But I still get lag even with my 20Mbps internet connection. I'm in the Middle East by the way and I play at Magmeld server.
Edit:
By the way, I don't get any Login or disconnection problem. Just some lag every once in a while.
Alternatively you can save up to 100$ if you don't buy pc case, optical drive and buy lower VGA like Radeon HD 6850 instead of 6870. I use 2 6850 in crossfire and the game run flawlessly. When i disable the crossfire it still runs flawlessly. This game can't load these videocards.
Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 is the cheapest card you can get for price/performance
Alternatively ... you can wait a bit until hard drive prices settles down. They're like 100%+ up since the flood in Thailand. But that's going to be a long wait. Prices have already started to drop down but not to the level they used to be not by a long shot.

i have 4 years old PC and i can also play on max graphics....
the question is how smooth is your game play ?cuz mine is not even near smooth even on lowest details ( IT is hell even in giran is better idk why)
you can laught on this system specs but that cost me about 250$ back in 2007 and i have no problems running ANY game till now except for L2GD
the only hope is to weit for the L2 harmoney update and the so wanted optimaizations made by NCsoft
its not normal to get 1000$ i7 to play 7 years old game ....agree?
Who's talking about 1000$ extreme edition i7 which is not intended for normal desktop users ? lol
The best gaming CPU as of the moment is Core i5-2500K and it is 220$ If you pick locked i5 your deal becomes 190$. These CPUs will eat what GoD has to offer to them and they'll want more.
The bottleneck here is the storage devices. As many people said ... SSDs are the only way to get decent FPS in overcrowded areas. The other parts are just waiting for the storage ... that's why you get te FPS lags
Find @junior posts. We had an argument between Mac vs PC in gaming. He gave pretty decent technical information on how the engine works and why it is lagging
Intel Core i7 860
GTX 580
8GiB RAM
Intel DP55KG Mainboard
Crucial RealSSD C300 64GiB <-By far most important for L2
32mbit Interwebz
I suggest a GTX 470-560, Dualcore Intel i3 or 4/6 core AMD, random mainboard, at least 4GiB RAM, preferrably more when boxing more toons and most importantly: an SSD, best atm is an expensive Intel one, the RealSSDs are almost as fast (reading speed is important, not writing speed)
With SSDs, all those frozen screens when the game gathers data to stream from the hard drive is absolutely gone. Running 3+ Clients at max settings @fullhd (without shadows) without ANY lags, just a bit high latency coz I'm from germany

i got an ASUS G74, plus a solid state drive, around August time. it has served my purpose just fine.
i bought an Alienware M17X R3 and runs L2 on max settings, it can handle 2 1920*1080 windows with max settings(dunno if l2 supports more windows, haven't tested).

totally agree, but my gameplay has no problem, i only have a little delay now and then, but never had a freeze, i can play 90% of the time with high graphics even in aden/toi and i car run the latest games with ultra quality or high...

Nice, I had the same setup once with 2x8800 ultras, except it was an i780 board and 8 Gb RAM.
Ya, had I waited another few months I would have moved to the Striker Extreme II with 780i chip set. But I've been really happy with the system and it has worked really well with L2 (and all my other games - Witcher 2 right now :)). The GTX 460 has been a treat though too. My dual 8800's were sweet and I was right ****** when one of them went, but the GTX460 has more than impressed.
That said, I want to start updating. I'm thinking of moving to an X79/Intel i7 set up now. Will wait a few more mos until the prices start to settle some though!
People who are lower level should also be aware that the the 85+ areas like the Bloody Swampland, Harnak, Teredor etc. are more taxing on hardware than older areas, excluding the new Talking Island.
Keep in mind when you say you're playing at max settings, that typically means a high resolution (greater than 1280x1024), all improved shaders enabled, high dynamic range colors, view distances at average or better, among other things. Anyone can play at "max" settings at 800x600. If you're playing above 1080p, you're probably going to see a hit no matter what hardware you have.

the imporved shader is retarted if you enabled it your aa is disabled and forcing aa on my nvida card does nothing to it
I see people are posting specs and all and saying they get no video lag just connection lag. Well, do you think you guys could be more specific with some tests maybe? What I mean by this is that personally I have:
1680x1050 Resolution
i7 860, GTX 560 Ti Hawk, 8GB Ram, WD Black 500 GB HD.
I get 10 FPS in Aden. I get like 100+ FPS anywhere else on max settings.
I do not get FPS Spikes anywhere but in towns.
I play BF3 on ultra 35-55 fps though.
Friend has i7 2600k, new mobo with 6gb/s SSD, GTX 580. He gets like 12 lowest FPS in Aden. So how are you guys claiming 0 lag?
My literal hunk of garbage, Office Max pc can run this game at decent settings with minimal lag and all I had to do was get a $50 video card and upgrade the power supply.
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
AMD PhenomII x4 955 3.2 GHz
4x2GB Corsair Dominator RAM
Sapphire Radeon 4870x2 2x1GB VRAM
2x1TB Samsung HDD Raid0
Asus Xonar D1
PC Power&Cooling Silencer 750W
Lian-Li chassis modded for water cooling, plus necessary cosmetics
Windows 7 Home x64, some Linux (Xubuntu recently)
- Same as 2 years ago, just upgraded HDDs.
Box or mobile deployment is utilizing Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo SA3650 with XGP.
