[Survey] Rate your awakening class

General Discussion Started Last reply 14 posts
Alright, with more and more people awakening every day, I am sure the unawakened would like to know how everyone likes their classes. I have put together a survey for the awakened to take. Please consider taking this very short survey. It will greatly help other players, and it may "awaken" NCsoft (forgive the pun :D) and get them to realize what needs to be changed.

The survey can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?hl=en_US&formkey=dDdLaW16X3JoWXlMRUFzTW1Xa3FyaVE6MQ#gid=0

NO personal information is asked. Survey questions include: What was your pre-awakening class? Did you use the Stone of Destiny? What is your awakened class? On a scale of 0,1,2,3,4 (0=terrible, 4=great) how would you rate your awakened class? Any comments or reasons why you chose that rating?

I will be posting the results as soon as I have enough data.

Thank you for your responses.

Feel free to praise or complain about your awakened class below.

EDIT (2012-02-14):

It has been a long time since I last updated this. Please click here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?p=3192090#post3192090) for some results. If you have not yet responded, please do! The more data points, the better the data :)
I don't agree with the whole concept of awakening classes as whole. I'm maining a necro right now, and I still want to use my summons after I awaken to Feoh wizard. I think there should be an option to allow that since that's what makes my class unique in the first place.

Agree/disagree?
I think that some of the half/half classes should get a choice as to which class they awaken into. I posted on another thread, but many people misunderstood or ignored my response. I'll look for the post...

Here's the post: http://boards.lineage2.com/showpost.php?p=3130715&postcount=9

It gives a listing of all pre-awakened classes (after third class change) and what I think they should be able to awaken into.
I don't want nuker OR summoner. i want nuker + summoner. Is that too much to ask for?

Maybe I just like playing my half class.

dont awaken then? keep your necro till 99, enchant your skills to +15/+30

I don't think you need to be 99 in order to do that.. xD

won't work; they'll still have a high failure rate and debuffs will never land in lvl 99 places

I hate my awakened knight. It's too generic.

Well I have good news for you! Awakened summoners have a half decent nuke. Think it has a 3 second cooldown (not sure have not logged in a few days) also has some nice DOTS that can be detonated for more fun nuking damage. Plus the Reapers are also nukers!
I think the idea of awakening was total specialization. Rather than becoming a jack of many trades (soultaker, spectral dancer, sword muse, etc) they are forcing you to specialize. But for these mixed type classes, you only get one route, even though you may not have played that type of playstyle.

I know, I have 3 left over skills from 2nd/3rd class (to be changed later) and the rate of failure is 100% for one skill

I can imagine that they did this on purpose, to force all the chars to be the same.

For the past 3 years I had been listening to people complaining about overpowered SLHs. Well, since GoD' s launch, they got nerfed. I bet that something congener will happen here as well. People complain about the lack of diversity, people complain about the new pk system. In some future update, they will finally rectify these issues (the problem is I don' t know when) :/.

Since the beginning, there have been complaints about something. I can only imagine the number of complaints NC has received over the years.
Some interesting results can be found on the spreadsheet:

There are a few pivot tables highlighting specific data cross sections.

Here is a summary of some of the data (as of 2012-02-14):

Highest average rating: Wynn Summoner (3.22)
Highest median rating: Wynn Summoner/Yul Archer (4.0)

28 people reported using the Stone of Destiny, while 79 did not.

People who did not use the SoD had a higher average rating than those who did (2.81 vs 2.57), but the median rating was the same for both.

The overall average rating was 2.75 with the overall median rating 3.0.

Of the people who responded that they used the SoD, most used it to choose the Yul Archer (6), followed by the Feoh Wizard (5).

Sample Comments:

Eva's Saint -> Aeore Healer
I can heal now and have some mediocre buffs. But the soloing ability is much much worse than before.

Arcana Lord -> Wynn Summoner
Dont win any pvp yet, but Im very happy with my toon. Need learn new way to play :)

Spectral Dancer -> Iss Enchanter
"No disappointments. Playing an ISS, brings back the fun of playing a SD. You are, once again as powerful as you were as a BD around lvl 70s. You can solo, got decent damage output skills that actually are useful in PVE combat. Of course still not a damage dealer.
If you loved playing your Swordsinger or Bladedancer you'll love Iss-enchanter "

Spectral Dancer -> Othell Rogue (SoD)
"Stab damage is good only for nuker and healer. Healers drop without much issue but nukers have more for mobility with 2 warps than we do with 1 shadowstep on a higher cooldown. The damage on light and above pales in comparison to archer warrior and enchanter even and tanking on tanks is a death sentence. They have 20k hp while we stab for 400 when both have full buffs? Then smack us for 2k with final judgment?

At the moment rogue is the best class for instantly dropping wizard and healer but that's all they can do. Why go a rogue and be a good dd for 2 of the 8 classes when you can go an archer or warrior or summoner even and have more reliable damage to everyone."

Fortune Seeker -> Othell Rogue
"With out enchanter buffs I am unable to solo even in solo areas, event full warcryer buffs are not enough.

I dont seem to be very efective in PVP while my dagger skills work well in group pve the dont seem to make much of a dent in pvp.

The hourse dosnt look like a hourse :(
R grade Light armor dosnt look good on female dwarf.

Fake death still seems to be 0% effective.

The class is however very effective in group pve."

Phoenix Knight -> Sigil Knight
i was Phoenix Knight, and you missed that class lol, it was way better than now...

Grand Kavatari -> Tyrr Warrior
orc power ^^
