What’s up with people in ToI and Cruma these days?
Now granted I haven’t played since C3 but it seems that there is a general lack of respect within L2 these days. It used to be that if your group had a room, people left you alone. Every once and awhile another full party would come in and attempt to challenge you for it, you’d either fight them for it or run away like a bunch of pansies. Which in my opinion is how it should be. Now it seems people just run in solo or with a duo (most likely a buffer dual boxed) and just start wailing away on mobs or even KS. As a server this has to change. I know, the bulk of it can probably be blamed on the “private server noobs” but if we don’t teach them any differently then how can we expect different results? If we force players to join parties and don’t allow them to get away with this **** it’s better for everyone. They make solo xp areas for people who want to solo or duo, please leave the group areas to the people in parties. I remember L2 used to have a strong group of players, yes we had some ******bags, trolls, bots, etc. but it seemed things got handled. If someone was KSing your party’s room, you killed them or they left, end of discussion. Now there are so many people doing it that the whole party would have to go permared in order to keep a room to themselves.
I can only hope that things get better on floors 5+
The groups in ToI have a thing or two to learn about how to exp efficiently and to set up the party (correct classes and what not) but that’s for another thread all together....
If I were you, I wouldn't expect any respect form the new people in official. I've been playing in Private servers for about 3 years.
There, you get no respect. You are in No Grade items Exping and when you reach lvl 5-10 (high rated servers) they pk you "because they can".
Almost all the people in official servers now came from private ones to show us their "pro" abilities.
I am only joining Kama atm once a day and I exp or make some quests once a day so when these animals see that they do nothing, I will be able to exp alone.
Find something better to do while the server has too high traffic and it will be better ;) Don't expect anyone to respect you. MAKE them respect you!
Case n point: Daily quest in WoA. People kill stealing mobs.
We went in white and came out red. Took all day to cleanse. But we got the quest done either way.... They may not respect the person but they'll respect the gun; in L2 terms the sword.. **** em.
We as a server can help to correct this (be it PKing without fear of others jumping on you or exclusion from leveling areas such as ToI). Accepting the fact that people are going to continue to do this is not an option we should take, but without the backing of the players who respect one another things will not change.

Looky here son, you seem like a good kid but a bit naive. L2 is about struggle and glory; This will never change. People will take from you, steal from you, con you, kill you, and for all pretence and purposes will make your experience a living hell. Some have chosen to quit and release themselves from such a plague while others have persisted. This is your decision alone to make.
If your having trouble solo'ing try grouping up as there is always strength in numbers. Find a good clan that will protect you through your quests and will come to your aid when need be. This is all the advice I can give. But you can't expect people to change as this is a sandbox game, the strong survive in this world my boy while the weak will suffer and perish.

i have 2 suggestions for you: 1. make friends who are high level. if they are willing to help you exp a while, all the better. most high levels have clan halls, so if they happen to go red they can escape "safely" with SOE:CH.
2. make a mage type char, not because nuking at range will prevent KS of any kind, but instead will allow you to use skills like Fear or Paralyze to cripple your opponent without killing them.
alternatively if your target kill stealers are clanned, start a war. theyll back off. 3 weeks later, you'll probably see that KSer kicked from clan.

I'm not trying to troll, I'm simply playing the devils advocate here because the sociology doesn't match up with your solution. If someone doesn't want to give you respect and you must have it there is only 2 solutions.
-diplomacy or force. People KS because their MA screws up and everybody assists (this happens quite often in GC) or they simply want to start conflict because they can't play on their botted account because its well, botting and their bored.
diplomacy doesn't work as they'll tell you to **** off and force will lead right into what they want which is war.
Now a lockdown is an option but what this does is expands the conflict from a single group to multiple clans, because you know that the griefers have their own clans as well. Once you initiate a clan vs clan environment soon after the alliances are called on for support then nobody within a five mile radius of the accosted zones will gain a single solitary percentage point for weeks if not months. I don't know what the solution is but this is where I'm coming from. Pandoras box is hard to close once opened but that doesn't mean I don't sympathize the plight. I'm a realist not an optimist.
Spudnik raises a good point above which I'll append here: Additionally you can pm his leader and usually if he's just a halfwit trying to cause trouble this kind of diplomacy will usually clear things up - But always be respectful as its always a touchy subject when your accusing a clan mate of being a moron..

My 7 man party is holding a room on ToI 2, we're doing well, keeping it pretty clean with a few mobs up. A random BD and TH run into the room, start going to town on a mob we (the full party that has been in the room for an hour) have not gotten to yet.
In my opinion and in the old days this would not be tolerated, we would ask them to leave and if they didn't oblige they would be PK'd. The PK was easier to work off. As going red is a fainting option until higher lvl solo areas (and a clan hall for bsoe is available as stated above) I think as a server we need to nip the problem in the butt by not allowing the random people to just run around going from room to room stealing mobs. It was different back in the day and maybe that's something that we can't go back to and i'll have to accept. Either way, thank you for taking the time to reply to my post and giving me what input you can. I apologize if I came across as rude, I guess i'm just frustrated with two days of failed parties and room thiefs in ToI.

Ya, there's more than one of these threads and frankly I'm just as ****** about it. Gone are the days when a brez and a buddy was all you needed to take care of business NC caused more problems than I think they anticipated. Only thing we can do is have someone with a permared go in and assassinate the guilty.....
Yah there is a lot of negativity around the new PK system, didn't wanna make the thread about that. If everyone in ToI defended their room as fiercely as I and some others do, then these ******bags would get the hint and move out to a solo area or find an empty room. They steal mobs off others because they know they will die if they try to go to an open room (too many mobs for them to handle).
there is also option number 3: act like a bot. since bots are not outright PK'd, people just move on when they see them.
Toi has many floors - its not hard to find a new room.
Well, I refuse to accept the idea of moving floors or rooms because someone showed up lol If it's my room I'm just gonna put some dmg on them so hopefully the mobs will kill them (love it when it works out)

A. Never spammed your recruitment page, if the truth hurts get your **** in line. Learn what words mean before you use them, if you need help I can point you towards some good resources.
B. Obviously you can't comprehend english because I never said i needed to be left alone farming. I asked for respect, something you obviously know nothing about.
