Well, I just started back after being gone for several years. I didn't find out it had gone Free To Play until I went to set up my game account.
It seems that it has gone the route of all those Free to Play games that I used to play Lineage 2 instead of, in other words, everything has become oversimplified and the lore has gone right out the window.
I miss all the individual starting areas and the lore associated with them.
I can't believe they have gotten rid of a number of classes and made healers and casters and warriors and tanks the same across all races once you get to lvl 85.
I am just wondering if anyone else had a similar sense of disappointment? And if anyone else feels that Free to Play is just not a good deal at all?
I wanna know why there are NO GMs whatsoever since the GoD launch! WTH!
Id rather pay 15 bucks a month to play on a "bot free/adena spam seller free" server than this **** you gave us w/ f2p. Its a slap in the face to peeps whom paid to play the past 7 years imo. Would be so easy to log in and just delete/ban them even if its a couple times a day.
Guess they dont care cause they have such a huge player base now it doesnt matter. I find it funny how they closed the petition system at certain hours now cause they cant deal w/ the influx of 4366346346856867895 petitions haha! WELL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BOTS AND ADENA SPAMMERS AND YOU WONT GET SO MANY PETITIONS!
Even though I like having a more "full" server and enjoy helping the n00bs whom just started I must say F2P is worse than any merge. ( which i adamantly opposed - I mean really now, you put Kain w/ lionna? wth? lol sheesh Most peeps I knew well in game quit then I shoulda too.)

About classes feel the same , playing on some 1 of 35 class was interesting than playing on 1 of 5
Actually, the dialogs from NPCs on which you press only "Next, next, next" have some pretty cool story for those who enjoy reading it. The old website had the history of the world of Lineage 2 spoken by Grand Kain as a story to adventurers over a camp fire. I litterally lost track of time while reading it. It was THAT good

for example : a friend of mine had many problems with the game he had non-stop replies from GMs till he solved them, and GMs do not stay visible ,do you imagine how many people would try QQ or what ever on them all in the same time?
@MABMc - I miss the pre-GoD as well but there are enough good things about GoD and F2P it's also easy for me to see the glass as half full, not empty.
The game looks beautiful, is still a blast to play, is an end-game "game" now where Clan Wars and Sieges can thrive and we have the populations to make that happen.
the lore has 0 to do with free to play. Korea decides the lore and progress of the story,t hat's what they decided on. A year ago. Before anybody in NA ever decided about taking the game in NA to f2p. Cause Korea which happens to be by far the biggest market as far as l2 goes is still p2p.

This isn't a private server where the GMs appear to you to show you how awesome they are, the retail GMs do their thing in the background LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO, and will only appear in game for certain events or if absolutely necessary to help you out.

Leave the game it you don't like this model. L2 became F2P because it was almost dying, with 2 almost empty servers, it would be closed soon as L1 servers if nothing was made.

1. L2 has never had a 100% customer satisfaction rate (or any other game for that matter, cuz it's just not feasible).
2. Several months ago ppl were quitting cuz of low population. Not having anyone to play with sucks!
3. L2 was losing money ( those who can analyze numbers only had to look at the financials). No money = no support, no L2. They are trying out a new model, which has plenty of issues but it keeps the game alive for us to bytch about, right? :D
