besides putting him on your KoS list to pay that favour back later on .. or try to talk to his clanleader ... or be carfull in the first place and ask if he has other mentees who you can talk to or other ppl that can approve his good standing .. you have to deal with the risk yourself.

Not true. Go to Shilen forums, if you scam someone by offering to sell a mentor slot and then do not give it to the person after taking their payment, you will be banned if reported properly.

Can you provide a link? I don't think I'm using the right search keywords to find an official comment. Not that mentoring really effects me, but I know for a fact that in-game scamming is entirely legal. I only ask for proper documenting, because comments like yours can really cause a lot of problems with people being more trust worthy of the fact they have protection from it.

never ever - in the early days of l2 if you want to craft something you had to give a dwarf all your mats and he made the crafting .. or yust run away with all your stuff. This was totaly legal and if you want punishment, you had to rely on the community.

Yeaaaa No... They aren't breaking any rules; I'm sorry NcSoft isn't going to step in and save those who lack common sense.
I can guarantee you that if you submit a claim through web support with proof it will cause the offender to be banned. This is the same company that runs Aion, scammers get banned, you just need the proof.
Seriously why would you take a chance at all in getting your awakened character banned? You all obviously support scamming in all of it's forms. It sickens me that you would help support scammers. I hope you get scammed one day, maybe you will think back to this and say, "Dam, that guy was right." Then again maybe not and you will quit and be one less d*uche I have to deal with in game.

ontopic: player`s decision is on their own, and if any1 gives something to other, is by his own will and knowledge. in other hand making a sort of "contract" should make both sides agree with those.
and i can assure you,if the preson is known (friend, friend of friend) i will not ask for money from him, niether ask him to play l2 every single min he have free. but if that person is some 1 random, i don`t have anything to thrust him, so payment is somehow compensation. and 15kk is too low for 5 days penalty.

i doubt many here support scamming, and i dont.The ability of making bad deals or the risk of being scammed is part of the game ... a (game)life without risk is like heaven .. a boring, peacefull heaven with no thrill at all.
The early L2 was a world full of risky excitement ... youd never know whats around the next corner, there is not many left of that old concept - playing around on the evil free market is one of it.

Talking to the clan leader should give you an idea of the person, providing the clan leader even knows 50% of his clan.

In my opinion if i have to leave my computer on while i am at work or doing other things mentees should have to pay for my services since they can leave me without any restrictions. But scamming people like that isn't cool.
I love how everyone is an expert authority... I've played this game since 2003, and I find it hard to get people who break the obvious rules banned lol.
Here's a thought. Check out the messages when you log in to avoid scams by verifying who you're trading with etc etc. While I don't condone it, its your mistake, and you lose

As someone whose been playing this game longer than 95% of the people posting on these forums today, I can assure you that they won't do a thing, and you have no clue what your talking about. These type of 'Scams' have been around forever, and NcSoft has stated numerous times they aren't going to get involved in stuff like this... In fact, i believe they have made the statement that people need to resolve these matters in game with PvP, which is 100% the correct answer.

Apparently common sense gets thrown out the window when it comes to Pixels, and instead of dealing with your mistakes, it's obviously the best choice to come cry to the forums instead.
Do I condone scamming? No, I think it's pretty sad... but people who fall for this type of scam, I have even less sympathy for.
