Holy **** I love the way L2 is now (more or less).

Coming from a person who has played since Open Beta (with a few breaks), this game seems revitalized.

Not since C1 have I seen people actively hanging out in low-level towns, making new characters or even L2 actively attracting new players. It feels awesome!

I play on Naia and I can't even go to a town like Gludio without lagging to hell (though this game isn't optimized for SLI or quad cores). :D There are always people running about, but obviously there are some faults:

Barely anyone is using the chatsystem. My chatwindow consists mostly of adenasellers and powerlevelers spamming their annoying everyday-advertisements. I can't even begin to fathom that, for years, NCwest has yet to just implement a way to automagically remove these chatmessages. Either by censoring known urls, or a system to pick up certain words in messages (adena + $ + Eur/euro + url) and not display them.

It's always quite annoying trying to pvp as a low level. Everyone has maxed out gear for their level now. If that wasn't enough, as soon as you flag someone, either the person who was damaged or someone nearby will log on their wtfawesomesauce main character and make you butthurt. It's recently resulted in me doing the same, but what's a 78 GH to do with no money and ****** a-grade (yes I know S is cheap in the lux shop, but you still need a few mill) against some über lvl 85+ in R-grade? :o I hate being humbled.

There's also the issue of finding a decent clan to join. I've been looking for some mates to play with. Leveling at 78 is quite boring solo. I was never into leveling a bunch of buffers to have follow me around all day, so I've been looking for fun people to play with. I've yet to come across more than three people who can actually keep a coherent conversation going in English. All I ever see are fellow europeans who have yet to go above third-grade English. It makes it hard to communicate for a Norwegian like me. I was in Einheit when Naia was called Luna, briefly, and even there I had like two people to chat with on VOIP as nobody spoke a lick of English.

Besides those being my own issues, the game finally seems like a fresh new game. I can't wait to be able to have access to the awakened class for my Ghost Hunter, but it seems like it'll be quite a few months soloing before I reach that point. I don't remember the login to my old prophet I was trying to level up, so boo to that.

I hope the influx of new players keeps happening and that NCwest, instead of adding a million new servers, ups the capacity for the current ones (Naia is Heavy 24/7) and that their datacenters ups their bandwidthcapacity at some point. :D
As for the adena sellers, it'd be pretty hard to do.
It takes like 2 seconds to make a new account, you censor a few things that's fine, they'll just add spaces, special characters, write in different way, so in the very end they'll censor so many things that you could barely write anything on chat, which would be more annoying than adena sellers themselves, in my opinion.
Uhh after a few days I simply disabled !Shout channel in all windows except Trade. Adena sellers really made my blood boil, and I'm usually a calm person ._.

But language barrier is something else. At first I thought people simply didn't speak enough English. But then I realised they not only don't, they also refuse to communicate at all! D: Social pariahs! They want to get their precious levels as soon as possible, so... wasting time chatting? Waiting your turn for the quest monster? Skipping the chance to KS your fellow? After all, the last hit is all that matters! She can't PK you anyway... :D

So well... honestly... I'd rather play with a few people who actually behave... like, normally, instead of playing with zounds of poorly coded AI bots.
@Monitor: I guess.

@Liina: I would disable it, but sometimes there are actual people chatting and I jump at the chance to have a chat, no matter if it'll end up with a fight or a laugh. :D

As you, I'd rather play with someone.

I also found out about the mentor stuff today. Awesome stuff. Now to find a mentor, haha.

Ah right, I hated this too. It's the funniest on low level quests for class change. I remember there're those guards fighting those mobs and last hit gets the score. When I tried to make my sword singer, I went there and saw 3 players there, I was like "hm, I came last, I should wait for it". Then more and more players came, each just went there to kill the steal and nobody other than me waited there, so the whole quest took like 40 minutes to complete (Makes it worse that the elven knight barely does any damage, basically you could KS that with Wind Strike even, on top of that if you attack the mob first, around at half HP it'll stun you for 6 freaking seconds, meanwhile everyone and their relatives kills the mob).

Other thing I didn't like is how the lower levels are made for solo playing only (Here I mean below 80 or awakening mostly). You try to finish a quest with your friend or just boost him, and you'll end up killing 3-4 times as many mobs as you would, if you finished the quest first for yourself and then for her/him. Not very encouraging to team up, eh?

I really hate the killstealers >_<

In TOI the other day some guy told me to move to another spot, whilst I was first at that spot and didn't even mind sharing with him, when I told him in a polite way that I have been training there for quite some time he repeat what he said but like this 'M O V E *****'

The very same day in TOI I was leveling up with friends and another party came in and literally killed all of the mobs and one of my friends with poor english tried to say something about it, which sounded odd of course.. they made fun of him and started killing every mob we attacked, we were forced to move out.

I hate the attitude of some players behind their keyboard, you are playing with other humans, atleast have some kind of respect for them...
Well no, why respect people? Why be nice! Be nasty is better, makes you a tough guy, didn't you know? *sarcasm off*

I have the priviledge of speaking four languages. So when I see some people that have poor English, I usually ask where they're from, so if I know how to speak in their language, I can switch.

But for some people not even that is enough. I had that countless times, where I was doing a quest, and a guy was purposely ksing every single mob of mine, when there were even other mobs around for him to kill. I switched to his language and asked politely for him if he could stop KSing me, his answer was basically "***** off", and when I told him, in his language, that he shouldn't go complaining about people being judgemental of certain nationalities, he told me that everyone should ***** off.

So yeah...

Meanwhile... I was leveling in WoA with Angels, didn't have the quest, and everytime someone showed up for a quest, I'd allow them to do it, and I'd even help them. There was this poor Orc guy with no buffs that I actually help him complete as I killed things faster than he ever could. So that earned me a thank you, a few recs.

Same for others. I shared my quest spot with someone else, they added me to their friendlist, and they were thankful. I don't know. I think that's much more gratifying than being an ***.

Yeah but sadly enough there are more ***es around than people like you. :/

I have met a couple of awesome people on this game though, so it's not all that bad.. some people are just really selfish.
I have earned all my recommendations buffing random people (just because I enjoy doing so :D), never did I ask for recommend and I'm always full on it, people should learn that you do not have to beg for recommendations, just be nice and respectful and it will fill itself!

Same here. My recs on my Ghost Sentinel are all for doing nice people to others. Never I begged for them (also because it's pointless, in my opinion, as they don't bring you anything).

But I will just go on and be nice because that's how I am. If it had been easier to wash out PKs, though, I'd have gotten a few numbers under my PK counter just for dealing with that kind of thing.

I'm becoming violent *cries*
I agree that the social aspect of this game is almost dead unless you have a clan or are awakened. I miss the old times when I was able to start or join in on a conversation and had a full friends list. As this aspect of the game has diminished, the j e r k factor has gone up considerably, amplified by the fact that ppl have a toon to hide behind. Stealing mobs, drops, being rude has become the norm. But I keep my hopes up, because as the population evens out and ppl settle in a bit I think it may become better.

One day I was leveling and still using hurricane on my SH and someone was cool enough to let me know DS doesn't require bones anymore so I could use that with a lot less mp. Ppl like that give me hope cuz he didn't just say *lolnoob* or somethig dumb like that. One of the reasons I picked a SH is to be able to solo when I need to since I'm on during odd hours for NA but now that I'm approaching 70 I'd really like to find a clan cuz that's where I always had the most fun at: pvp, sieges :D
I am one of the new players. I think the reason why nopony is talking really much is the kind of race-situation. Now that the game is f2p everypony wants to reach a high level as soon as possible.

Another thing is that now there are so many players ... everywhere ... that you could chat all day. So you kind of ignore them all.

And last but not least ... now that players can easily join with their friends, because it´s f2p they are on Teamspeak.

So the conversation is there you just don´t hear it ^^.

But I think it will change once the ponies reach higher levels.
Adena sellers didn't really bother me up until I was getting PM'd by them >_<
Meanwhile, in Innova...

Why can't we have this in here, too? ):

I've seen similar stuff here. As a sws, people did let me go first. And I of course thanked them. Also we don't have that many people at the same time trying to do the quest! Still, it's nice but we should stop comparing both servers.

This happened every single day when the servers were new. So, we're at fault here because our servers cannot be 100% new all the time?

donotunderstand
What was your IG name on Luna?
What was your IG name on Luna?

I doubt I'd post that here. :p I was, however, in Valhalla, playing with Starz and Razimba. I was briefly in Einheit before I had a huge break.

I've seen it on Chronos. Not quite as long a line but it still happens to this day. I know the lines were longer on the newer servers and on the first days of GOD as well.
