I really like this new chronicle... but u took of some things that have a function as a filter, to take away those newbie players before hitting high lvls and do important things.
Now u can find that newbie players thinking they are pro because they are awakened, a thing that is too easy to reach.
I can understand that u are making our lives easier to reach awakened classes and have an opinion of them.
But u have taken so many old Lineage 2 things that made the game fun, like class transfer quests... now they are a joke. They were a challenge to beat... to reach the third class for example and think our effort was for smthing.
It is suppossed that when u are reaching awaken class, we are talking about another game now, like a the pro players world. I thougth i was smthing like that, but it seems that any random newbie player can reach this state.
Im really dissapointed because i liked this chronicle and was looking forward to it... but u made a big mistake making things so easy...
This is not a complain, its just an opinion, some people will share it and others dont.
I disagree on the class change quests. Maybe they're fast and easy now, but what it was before wasn't fun either.
I mean if you wanted to reroll a character back then, doing the 3 trials for 2nd class was by no means difficult, but long and boring (especially if you've leveled multiple characters).
Also third class quests weren't hard either, they just took a while of grinding.
Now they maybe take basically no time and are very easy, but the only thing that's different now that you don't need weeks just to finish a quest.
Call me noob or whatever, but if you want to make a hard class change quest, something in the fun way would be better in my opinion (for example to kill a an epic looking monster that requires a party or a few - this would be fun, for a while, but once it's harder to find party for it, then it kind of ruins the feeling).

Didnt want u to focus at quest changes.
that is just 1 thing.
the main thing is that is too easy to hit 85... too easy to lvl up
They served the game to those newbie players, and ***ed up on the old pro ones.
1 - old class transfer quests were annoying, mainly the 3rd job quest(killing 700 mobs is insane)
2 - 2nd and 3rd jobs are garbage compared to 4th ones, so I don't want to grind forever to be able to enjoy my awakened summoner, I hate 2nd job summons and their low pdef-attack speed-critical rate that makes me not to be welcome in a DD party as archers-daggers-warriors.
3 - as I said in another topic, to make 1-85 hard again, they should make awakened classes since level 1-20 or at least 40, you can enjoy 2nd-3rd jobs, but I don't enjoy these too unbalanced jobs anymore, and I want to reach lvl 85 as fast as I can to enjoy something a bit more balanced(of course there are unbalance yet, but it is not compared to all the garbage made during years in 2nd-3rd classes). I want to be useful in parties, not useless, because everyone wants a warlock due to cat buffs over me, a PS that has no buffs for them and deal low damage compared to a full buffed archer-melee DD and their high crits and skills.

Think of it as the game helped those newbie players who now won't have to spend years to fight on almost equal ground with the ones who have been playing for years.
Before someone comes up with the usual "but I've been grinding hard for almost a decade" argues, just consider it you had fun with your character(s) for almost a decade. If it was still the old exp system, then your first new awakened characters would appear in a few weeks from now on, while all the old players would be 95+ by then. Instead of that, you can play with new faces, maybe some of them are noobs, maybe you will fight some of your best in-game friends among them.
Also the older players aren't so much screwed up as you think. Whereas fresh players will have awakened characters with barely any amount of money, no noblesse for at least a month, no attribute stones or enchants for armor on level 85. Meanwhile the players who have been for a while on the server will be level 90 with Top R/R95 set, enchants and attribute stones, also dyes and whatever you name it.
Levels mean nothing if you're heavily undergeared.
Anyways, back to the too easy to level up part. Which level were you once again?
I dunno 1 single player who enjoyed doing class quests, first time yea sure alright it's cool. Second time? "PLS SHOOT ME".
You are saying that only "pro" players should reach awakened status fast, while "newbies" should take much longer.
WTH do you consider a "pro" player? A person who has a life, a person who doesn't have a life or a bot?
Cause what i can take from what you are saying is that the first who should arrive awakened status are bots, not legit players, coz those(botters) are the ones who arrive faster -usualy- and reacher to end game.
You're also indirectly saying "pro" players should have a MUCH BIGGER benefit over everyone else. Being awakened means being several times stronger than an unawakened character. So these "pro" players who are already several times richer and powerful would benefit even more while others (by your claims) should not enjoy what they are enjoying, at the same pace.

Also you kinda contradict yourself on one point.

No logic in this thread.
I agree, if L2 had the same leveling curve as Interlude-HB, surely I would use bot until, at least, to be able to play with my wynn summoner at level 85.

Was it necesary to give every single player in all servers equipment up to S grade?
Was it necessary to give every single player in all servers equipment up to S grade?
THATS RIDICULOUS AND NOT LOGICAL
Yes, it was. Just imagine with this leveling speed and income, they would either end up in bound B/A grade by level 85, or they would just have to die a lot to lose exp and farm money on each levels. Would look even funnier on new servers, by the time you farm, enough mats or money for a top S weapon/armor you'll just hit level 85 and be completely useless.
PS.: These free items will disappear over time and they're dumbed down (as in worse stats and bonus).
So... you're saying that the "pro" ones are the ones who level up faster?
Look if you're "pro" or "noob" doesn't depend on how fast you get to lvl85 but of how you use your awakened character from this point and further.
It was necessary to give up to S grade equipment for newbie ones... opportunity for everybody ;)
People complain about anything whether it inconviences them or not. Those will intelligence have or will in time learn to ignore them. NC has already done so noting as they hardly ever, if ever at all, respond to these people. They don't have to worry either because these same complaining people will still be here as time passes despite their hatred for the game/service.
then quit
why would someone lvl slow to 85?
play whitout mentor,or soulshots....and you'll lvl slowly if you like that, don't drag us down
btw
an awakened mage 1 shot-ed a 80+ tank
if you are a masochist and want to pvp like that, then don't awaken
and people lvl realy slowly after 85...and at 86 no more mentor buffs
you will have ur wish
it took me 3 weeks to awaken....i don't play that much....but i still think i played a lot(especially the last few lvl's)
for a normal person who has a job and family, will take prbly around 2 months to reach 85?
more without mentor
Uber epic fail with 5 completely full servers. Yeah.
Exactly.
Now you can actually see progress in the game. And from what I have read it looks like they are going to improve the lvling system once again.
If you look at the lvling model for most MMOs that are successful now days, it isn't 2 months per lvl... instant gratification makes money. <that's logical.
Now as far as skill? There is nothing in this game that takes "that" much skill... I mean really. Sieges take skill in coordination, same with raids.
I suppose you could say that olympiad takes skill, but not really, as soon as you learn the forumla for each class, it's kill or be killed dependant on gear.
So if you think Skill = time played then ya, you are right pre-G.O.D. took TONS of skill.
Also, at lvl 87 it does take a while, but still not that much time, I remember it being much worse pre-G.O.D. At any excuse... the lvling system will be improved once again according to tauti patch stuffs, so get ready for the game to get easier, and thank G.O.D... people do not have 8 hours a day to do the stuff on the game that should take the least amount of time...
People want:
Sieges
Raids
Environments
Character Development
Somewhat of a Story
And now they can have all of these with little time doing the thing they least want to do - grind for 8 hrs per day.
I have been playing since C1 and all you oldies need to realize, the old system didn't provide money... or population. To be honest, you should be happy they have still left off adding factions (thank God)
I say make it easier, make it so more alliances and guilds attempt to be the best ... I want a huge turn out at the sieges and territory wars, not just those who had 10 hours a day to play ... because really... usually... those aren't the best players anyway ... just the players who are unemployed or live in their parents basement quad boxing characters... I want to see everyone play, and so should you.
I guess everything is lost, the new comunnity cant even read a post without saying bullshi t :P
Only a stupid no-lifer qualifies people in terms of newbie(noob) or pro. See, you prove yourself a ****.
Get real, ******* moron. Get ******* real and realise its a **** game. You don't like it?
a) Hold on and play as it is anyway
b) Use suggestion section and pray someone listens to you.
c) Don't play it.
Would love to see how you all prinks hit your head against a wall in real life.

Unless I am misunderstanding the system since I just returned to the game after many years a few days ago, I dislike the fact that Dwarf warriors are awakened into rogues, and every rogue class gets the ability to spoil apparently. What the heck is up with that?!

Ya, it's terrible that dwarfs now can have PvP abilities, spoil, and summon siege engines...
Oh the paaaaaainnnn. :)
I am glad the system has changed so each class has more opportunity - Dwarves running the market is just crazy, whoever thought of that idea in the board room should have been questioned... Richard!!!!! ;)

Well when you put it like that it doesn't sound so bad :o

It really isn't, rogues are really neat the way they made them! and it will be great to see people wanting to play with their dwarves for more than just sieges and money making stuff.

I cannot agree more with you , playing 8 hours a day , getting better gear and killing ppl who play less and have not so good gear has nothing to do with being skilled player , you are just good farmers and grinders and gear +lvl up makes the rest of "skilled part"
Nothing from old times was fun , I have done all these quest in c4 , to make 2 profession for main I had to make spoiler and se to buff him , after get to spend some time in heine spoiling sops to get money just to be able to buy D grade and gatekeeper what did cost about 2kk for all 2 prof quest
there were 0% fun in all this and I did it just to get pass that **** and get to part when I killed my first Antharas with ally , so it was like 4 months grind and 5 hours fun , pvp and after this first cool raid
Actually I would just love to have daily quests that give fixed rate of 20% per day exp so in like 2 months I could be 95 with best gear ( rewarded in quests) could do cool raids and so on, but it will never happen will just have to wait until wow goes free to play
This is like 3 game what has same scenario I have played on official servers now
S.U.N online first 90 lvl awesome you get them in week or two in one rly long storyline quest , after 90 grind and most ppl quit
Vindictus - first levels are awesome , when you hit 40-50 and start to replay every mission like 50 times to lvl up , -fu** this grind
And there comes new L2 - first 80 lvl awesome , get in 2 weeks, daily quests are easy , after 85 it probably becomes - 2 weeks to lvl up lol? I think I will get to 85 after finish my sub and wait until some update comes up with faster lvl up to 95, until that helping friends to get to 85 while exping subs and playing LoL will keep me busy
"Newbies" as you call them, will fail at endgame PvP if they're indeed newbs on how this game works and how a group is supposed to play. To me, its an advantage, the more 85+ people there is, the more PvP I will find so its a win-win situation.
the main thing is that is too easy to hit 85... too easy to lvl up
They served the game to those newbie players, and ***ed up on the old pro ones.
only thing they have done by this is making new players have same chance and gear as old ones, it seems that 'old" ones (or hardcoer 24/7 ones )are so afraid of having new players same level and gear that they would better have server on slower rates and play 14hours a day for longer period of time just to get better gear and lever to have advantage instead of fighting on equal terms gear and level
If you are so good you should be happy there will be more players who will not know how to play after 85+ and R grade to kill , if not , you are the real newbie here
However as it was mentioned earlier "having skill" is highly overrated , there are so much guides and videos how to play and it is not so hard to pvp or kill epics if you have gear and level, in this case only real skill probably belongs to top ally and clan leaders who organize events, exp, epics and sieges, they help clans to get gear and don't allow enemy to exp by clan wars, yes they have skill but how many rly are in this game? other players are mostly good leveled and geared pawns who if kicked from top clans and forced to play solo or in small groups will be nothing special at all
so stop with the skill thing already
The thing is the game is easier to play for the ppl with jobs, that can play 2-3 hours/day. Now they can also advance in the game without having to wait months to get to 3rd class quest, and then another few weeks to finish it.
lol@ the OP for wanting new players to relive the game like it was in c1 -c5. The extreme grind of the game is exactly why L2 went down to two servers. Let me tell you something:
I really like this new chronicle... but u took of some things that have a function as a filter, to take away those newbie players before hitting high lvls and do important things.

Leveling, grinding, killing infinite mobs or making infinite quests does not make the difference between a noob and pro/decent player,
either you u reach high lvl in 1 month or six does not make the difference, lvling and grinding it`s not rocket science, even my 10 years old cousin can do that :D
it does not matter people lvl fast, the good players will be seen in PVP , leveling means absolutely nothing.
The noob will always lose against the good ones.
The class quest were not hard, just long and boring, does not show the difference between skilled and unskilled players
Why do you care if newbies reach fast high lvl as long you are better them anyway,if you are of course:p
only thing they have done by this is making new players have same chance and gear as old ones, it seems that 'old" ones (or hardcoer 24/7 ones )are so afraid of having new players same level and gear that they would better have server on slower rates and play 14hours a day for longer period of time just to get better gear and lever to have advantage instead of fighting on equal terms gear and level
