Solution for Adena Companies spamming

1. Take the NCoin system that you already have in place now and put in-game items such as armor, jewelry, epics, and weapons in it. That way you guys can start cutting into their profits more which in turn will allow players not only purchase more gear but more profits for you guys, just don't make it over ******ed in pricing.
2. Do more giveaways to players
3. Have GM's run around and take 1 hour to check botters in popular areas and in towns.

(I know I have reported the same bot 5 times and they are still running strong I mean really, You guys sure will ban a player from botting but a adena farmer it's like you guys are over-looking them completely.)

NCSoft should do this as well since I have been reading about the pk/pvp system.

ALLOW 5 PKS A MONTH WITHOUT PENALTY :)

1. Bad idea. Your financial status in real life should not affect gameplay or the market economy. It's bad enough that they allow people who are wealthier in real life to get exp faster.

2. Good idea. More 30-day-gear or make bound gear easier to obtain.

3. Excellent.. Why aren't they doing this? And if they already are, why don't they ban IP's instead of accounts? Because at the moment, they just keep coming back.

Yes, and what's the point of having a bot-report-button if the reports aren't getting looked into.

5 PK's a week, rather. How about the PK-score getting reset during maintenance once a week, kinda like vitality?

2. More 30 day gear? You get full sets of top items up to level 76, which is enough 'till you're 85. More bound gear? Unidentified Immortal items drop like as if they were mats.
3. Proxy, VPN, dynamical IP. Half minute and anyone can log in again with a newly created account.
Solution for Adena Companies spamming

The best idea for spam in towns is very simple:
1. auto-chat ban for few hours when player write adena selling company name/link to website,
2. if player do it for second time, he gets auto-chat ban for 2x longer time period,
3. if player do it for third time, he gets auto-chat ban for 2x longer time period again,
4. if player do it again, he's account is temporarily suspended,
5. GM check what did this player wrote, if it was spam he gets permanent ban if some player wrote it by mistake he is getting account unbanned and warning.

Another idea:
1. make censorship for some company names/link to website like it is with some bad words (-_-).
2. More 30 day gear? You get full sets of top items up to level 76, which is enough 'till you're 85. More bound gear? Unidentified Immortal items drop like as if they were mats.
3. Proxy, VPN, dynamical IP. Half minute and anyone can log in again with a newly created account.

2. I didn't know that.

3. But it'd still be better than just banning accounts, will it not?
And if ineffective, why not ban MAC addresses?
Besides selling standard weapons/armor/jewelry, these ideas would work pretty well. Selling vanity gear is one thing, but buying actual armor and etc would be stupid right now, stupid to buy and sell, actually. You don't even need any weapons/armor until 85, and you STILL get R grade for basically free anyways. To the person that thinks you shouldn't be able to buy stuff with your own money if you want, since when do you get to decide what a player does with his/her money? Did you also feel that people that payed for 3 or more accounts before L2 went F2P should have not have been allowed, merely because you didn't have a few extra dollars each month to do the same?

Somehow, I doubt it. A lot of you guys seem to live in this fantasy world where the game you're playing isn't being run by a company trying to make money, and that if *you* don't want something, nobody else should be allowed to get it either. That's not how life works, that's not even how L2 works right now in game. We have full bot trains, hundreds of adena sellers, ppl using pvp hacks/exploits/bots etc etc, the last thing you should be worrying about is if some random player buys some hats or clothing, or exp items.

On the GM issue, that costs money. You won't see more(any??) GMs ingame until they are making a good amount of money via the cashshop, you get extra stuff/more stable gameplay the more money a company makes, you can't expect them to throw money at something and hope it sticks.

PS "players that are wealthier get to exp faster" how is 5 dollars an issue? If you don't have 5 bucks to spend on the mmo you play for hours on end, maybe not playing any mmo, is the appropriate choice for you? It's funny because all those hours you spend grinding without that exp boost could have been used working a job irl, and making your L2 experience *that* much better(and less time consuming)

edit - In regards to stopping bots, you can't. IP banning doesn't work, mutes don't work(and end up ******* off legit players), captchas don't work(seriously people that suggest this should never try making a game, ugh)..all you can do is beat them at their own game. In every mmo that has had some success in the fight against bots, they always have a cashshop that runs well, offers nice deals, and has a large selection of random vanity/joke items, and allows you to trade/gift the items. Bots start to disappear when nobody is buying adena from their sites, and who wants to buy adena from some obnoxious scammer spamming in Aden all day vs NCSoft itself? Not many people, that's for sure.

Actually, I have no idea where you get 5 USD from. Probably your imagination.
+150% exp is 2x1200 NCoin which is 30 USD a week to maintain.
Most people playing this game at the moment, aren't using runes because 30 USD isn't worth it for them.
For others, it is. And what's the factor here? Financial status in real life.
Yeah I didn't say you had to buy the max increments in the highest amounts, did I? Is that a requirement somewhere? It costs 240 NCoin(2.50 or so fyi)for FIVE HOURS of 50% exp, and 400 NCoin(about 4 dollars)for another FIVE HOURS of 100% exp. The option here is, do you buy a bag or two of doritos, or get more exp?

I think I know what you're choosing here, and it isn't the option that saves you time and effort, both in game and out.

edit - Financial status barely plays a role in this game, it only NOW became F2P so that point is moot. You can't even buy items that you can legit resell without NCSoft having to bug up their own system(1 hour xp rune fiasco, adventure packs), so as it stands the only advantage you get over another player by buying NCoin items is increased exp, something that has been around in L2 since it launched(your own personal parties? lol)

IF anything, this gives players that got scammed by mentors another option to get more exp, without having to get scammed 10 more times and/or pay any money for a mutually beneficial relationship. Yeah it isn't the same as if they were stacked, but so what? It's still a relatively cheap option that greatly improves the gameplay experience of anyone that buys it, and only lessens the experience for the same people that give you a stink eye irl when you buy cigarettes or something.

Grow up, it's not your money, it barely affects your gameplay experience(as is), and it keeps the game you're playing from going bankrupt. The world works in mysterious ways, no?

last edit - If you think someone leveling faster than you is "bad" for your gameplay experience, you have clearly never played an mmo. There is always a group of poopsockers that play more than you, that play harder than you, that also don't mind dropping 20 bucks or more on an mmo as a monthly thing. If you can't deal with that, go play a single player game.
Yeah I didn't say you had to buy the max increments in the highest amounts, did I?

No, but if you're wealthy, you would. Do you think average Joe from Chile will be able to afford this? No, he cant even afford a decent computer, so he plays with alt-p and 8 fps.
If you're saying that the exp runes aren't unfair some people, then you're just being incredibly obtuse.
No, but if you're wealthy, you would. Do you think average Joe from Chile will be able to afford this? No, he cant even afford a decent computer, so he plays with alt-p and 8 fps.

And why is this guy in chile using a crappy computer? People in foreign countries don't have access to computers that can run L2? People in foreign countries don't have any money?

You don't have to be wealthy to buy a computer that can run L2, if that's your belief, maybe what you're trying to say is "if you are financially strapped, regardless of what country you live in, you shouldn't be playing an mmo"

Next time, try to not to stereotype an "average joe" from Chile as a poor dude, it doesn't look too good for you. I could say the same about NA, but do I? No, because it's offensive to people actually in those situations, to insinuate that they would be HERE, playing an mmo with you or me, instead of focusing on their lives and families.

Why not?

1. It already does. (as adena selling is commonplace and always have been)

2. It helps giving the profit to NCSoft instead of spamming/cheating adena companies.

3. Financial status helps everywhere in life, why should MMOs really be any different? thats like a car enthusiast saying that you can't buy a car, but are only allowed to have one if you build one yourself.

Haha, the comparison that came to my mind was what if you're at wonderland or disneyland, and someone has one of those passes that lets you skip lines? Do you complain/yell at management when someone uses one to get past you in line? Or do you deal with it because you know it was your own choice not to buy that small feature?

It'd breathe life back into private servers, that's for sure.

So because of "average Joe from Chile", the rest of us should be disallowed having the money to buy a faster and bigger computer (or several computers/screens for multiboxing), because its "unfair"?

What about "average Joe from Chile" that can't afford fast internet or even 24/7 internet? Should the rest of us be force pinged to 1000 ms and only be allowed to play a set 8 hours a day?

Maybe "average Joe from Chile" should stick to playing Tetris. Oh wait, what about "poor Ubutu from Somalia" who can't afford a computer at all? BAN TETRIS!!

i find this really racist :S

You can already buy adena and gear and those who doesn't care about the rules and play on private servers, wouldn't likely give a **** about the rule about not powerleveling/adena buying.

The only difference is that it would give the honest player an edge too.
Yeah so it's not a country that's doing so hot, neither is America, neither is Greece, neither is Mexico, neither is (LISTS HALF OF EU). If you haven't realized, there is a pretty big economic problem happening all around the world, and you don't need to live in Chile to share those problems, you could very well be living in New York and share the exact.same.problems.

So your quick google and link only show your complete lack of critical thinking, sorry. Everyone is having financial problems besides that 1%, and somehow I doubt many of those 1% are here playing an 8 year old Korean mmo with us, but hey, that's just me.

Anyways, next time you want to talk about poor people, don't single out a country just because you hate the players from it that you've met in game, or because you read some statistics that tell you the country is in shambles. The point here is that many ppl in NA share the same difficulties, yet they aren't thought of the same way as a random dude in Chile, do you see the problem here?

I do.
i find this really racist :S

It wasn't meant to be. It was the first thing that came off the top of my head, and I exaggerated out of proportion. Sorry.
If the first thing that comes out of your head is a racial comment, maybe you should spend a bit less time on L2. You had the time to look over your post and edit it, yet you only now realized after being called on it multiple times?

Uh-huh.

edit - You're still completely missing the point that anyone working in some dead-end job that makes below or barely minimum wage, shouldn't be playing an mmo. There are more important things in life than watching numbers rise on a screen, when you have those taken care of, you will find that throwing 20 bucks at something like an mmo is a reasonable fee for your hours of enjoyment.

Let me put it in a very simple comparison that you should understand.

For this example we have person A and person B
Both people have 20 dollars to spend

Person A goes to see a new movie, and buys a drink or some popcorn = 2 hours of enjoyment with some snacks, cool!

Person B plays an mmo, person B spends that same 20 dollars and gets 5 hours OR MORE of enjoyment.

Now I guess is when you bring up people in other countries don't have movie theaters or vendors that sell cigarettes or (insert other things you can buy that you don't need).

In a party atm. Otherwise, I'd probably think twice about what I type.

but let's say the country we're talking about has 5th of what your country's minimum wage is.

Would you pay a measly 25 USD for 5 hours of +100% exp?

People play L2 from all over the world. People enjoy playing it regardless of where they're from and often also what their salary is.
So you should have initially said that the exchange rate is the issue, and even so, that's an issue for any kind of online transaction, anywhere. I agree that NCoin prices are indeed too high, and that more deals need to be made so it's better for not only NA players, but all players. The tricky thing here is that when you're buying off the L2 official site, everything is in USD if I'm not mistaken, so the only real solution is to release game cards in your/other countries. Sure, you'd probably still get ripped off a bit, but that's just how it is.

And it's not like the American dollar has been doing all that fantastic anyways, so I doubt the conversion is anywhere as bad as you seem to think it is.

Also, about the lower minimum wage comment, yeah other countries have worse minimum wages sometimes, you can find the exact same in the US, for example, illegal immigrants. They are paid below minimum by a considerable amount, and still pay taxes, so they are completely screwed by the system. Sure it sucks, but the last thing someone in that circumstance would be worrying about is if they can get an exp boost from the NCoin store, imo.

I tend to get a bit too impulsive and get carried away, but yah, that's what I meant.
Not fully updated on what the USD is worth nowadays, but let's say you're from denmark. Then compared for instance chile, you'd make around 4-5 times as much as person there having a similar job. Thus game store items would be about 4-5 times as expensive to them..

lol.. I tried to defend the people who are worse off economically, and ended up coming off as being racist.
I sure know how to screw up.
The game card thing is a good idea, but I dont think it'll go global. L2 isn't as popular as it used to be, and I don't think NCsoft would do it. We could suggest it, though.
1. too much financial intervention already, it is fine the way it is. Besides, you screw the crafting system.
2. no need

1. make censorship for some company names/link to website like it is with some bad words (-_-).
THIS!
THIS!
I think they already made those censors.
That or the adena sellers are some weridos that type links in the most impossible ways.
Tons of other countries I should have chosen as an example, but the truth of the matter is that it's unfair some people who can't afford the extra bonuses the store offers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country

And its unfair they can't afford as powerful computers
Its unfair they can't afford better internet
Its unfair they can't afford the free time to play a lot
etc. etc.

Life and Lineage 2 is unfortunately quite unfair.

L2 hasn't been as unfair before as it is now, and buying gear with NCoins would make it even more unfair.

Actually it was MORE unfair before. Before wealthy players could afford to run multiple accounts, while poor people had to content with having just one account.

You can already buy gear/adena with money, but right now its reserved unfairly for those who break the rules and in that way get way ahead of everyone else who has no way to catch up.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner... what do we have for em jonny?

We have a reality check!... Why do you think they leave them alone?

I have played this game since the open beta and they have

1. Done very little about Bots
2. Done virtually nothing about pvp programs
3. Allowed RMT since the beginning of the game.

Sure, they have banned ppl now and then but not nearly enough stop the use of anything. Your best bet is to accept the fact that this staff is inept and cannot manage the game or simply dont want or are ordered not to.

Lose one pk per maintenance would work pretty well I think. To clarify, I don't think it should clear karma, just pk count

Indeed. I like the free to play, but I have spent more on the game this month than I did when it was pay to play. I am upset the xp runes don't work at 86+, and we are limited to only 5 vitality items per week. I can take a char 1 to 85 in a week, but can't get 85 to 90 in a month LOL. The 85+ chars would spend more if there were items to buy... I don't care about vanity items though...
you guys forget, korea doesn't suffer from the same plagues' we suffer from here, so in order to get the client side changes that you want, they'd have to happen in korea client in order to come here as the licensing rights prevents ncsoft na from changing the client outside of anything not already in game.
Just curious, someone is upset and is saying people who pay in L2 have a unfair advantage because they level faster?

LOL

Have you ever played a Free to Play MMO in your life? Those games sell stuff that increases players damage, damage reduction, gear upgrades that are impossible to reach for free and in some games there are these STUPID LOTTERY BOXES that contain RIDICULOUS items like OP COMBAT MOUNTS you can't get anywhere else and someone is complaining about BONUS EXP in L2?

All I can say is, even though this game is 8 years old, it's click to move, and it's grind based, it's F2P model "Truly Free" slogan truly made me uninstall every single F2P MMO I used to play.

Rather have people leveling 10 times faster than me than having players be 50 times stronger than me just cause they poured thousands of dollars on their pixeled character.

/end rant

Yah, but the suggestion here was adding gear/adena to the NCstore.
Well that suggestion won't work and ruins the game. Gear should only be obtained in game.
I'm sure if NC would really would like to get rid them they could do it.

Even if they can't track single adena i'm sure simple query could point 10-20 people/CWH at server what gain a lot of adena from various sources.
Adena shop has to have constant income of adena to be able to sell it.
Those 10-20 suspicious accounts just has to be analysed.
Possible 2-3 are innocent good market players who sell / buy 16h/day.
Next 3-4 would be CL of top/active clans (lets ignore their legitness)

Remaining 15 are just adena shops.
Checking those 15 would be matter of work of 1 GM for 1-2 months.
One could check all transaction, sudden gifts or something similar.
It would be to easy to track bots gathering adena / mats and as well 'good' clients.

Taking down at least top 10 shops every 2-3 months would discourage adena shops at least from massive operation.
I doubt if any "client" would be happy when after payment he got information:
"dear IPWNALLNOBSINRANGE, NC just wipe our WH with 20 bil adena and we are forced to delay your order.
It will be processed ... in next month "

Apart of it, if NC would be succesfull with cleaning major adena sellers prices would go, up so high, that would be very few clients who could afford to pay for adena.
Those few always exist and I wouldn't bother those :o
Only 1 GM is needed to BAN Char/Account/IP of these "Welcome to MMO...blah blah blah" and Jail Bots.
Only 1 GM is needed to BAN Char/Account/IP of these "Welcome to MMO...blah blah blah" and Jail Bots.

But banning spammer not solve problem of adena shop.
As it is free to create account, they can set new faster then anyone can ban them.

IP is not a problem I can switch mine IP using proxy faster then you can log to Lineage.
You could ban all IP Proxy (like corporate does) but heh possible many innocent people would get hit and it is not a point of NC who want have as many clients as possible.

Banning bots also is not solution. With 5000-6000 online people checking all would be pointless.

Key is what farmers are doing.
They sell adena (or items).
Without adena they cant set adena shop.

They can gather adena only in 3 ways.
1st mass bot trains - easy to do.
2nd buy from players cheaper then sell.
3rd sell in game items by adena.

Still they need to keep that adena(or items) in some place.
GM has to just track those points.
Baning bots is less important than ban account with adena 'Bank'.

Hitting shop and taking let say 10 bil is more painful than banning 5 accounts of trains what can be recreated in 10 min to run in field.

Still even if it is not so complicated.
1st NC have to have will to do it
2nd You need some time.
