I havent seen all that many awakened archers yet, but Im wondering if its worth it to use crossbow instead of a normal bow? Ive always preferred how crossbow looks and hits, and it would be a huge bonus for me if they were as good as bows 85+.
Dont know if it matters, but Ill probably be a SR, possible HE.
Not sure if all the races can equip crossbows after awakening. Would like someone to clear this up for me.
Or only kamaels can equip them?
Would be interesting to see me(elf) with a crossbow.

I tried using a crossbow with my male human yul archer and i could not equip C,B,A,S grade crossbows, so i didnt even try to use my unidentified apocalypse shooter. I have been trying to sell it since i got it as a reward from SOA quest and nobody wants it, and people say it can not be transformed by kamaels, so basiclly its a useless weapon nobody wants.

Only R-grade above crossbows can be used by any char.
For the crossbows C-S80 grade, still the old rule applies, they can be converted by using regular bow and used exclusively by kamaels
The R-grade and upper are different weapons and can be used by any awakened character. I don't think it is an useless weapon, I am more into crossbow (maybe the only one...)
Made an experiment with an apo shooter haste with the +4 bonus, the difference is about 300atk speed (~1120 -> 1420)with siege fire stance on and quick fire on as well , which is huge.
I think with full +str from ears/dyes/whatever with re-use time of 0 secs , you can spam your aoe skills very very hard , for the most dps.
At least until lvl 99 or so , where you get quick fire with a 200% atk speed bonus , then you ll no longer need it .
But till then and for aoe pvp/pve , crossbow is pretty **** good.
And for those wondering , with a +30 critical rate from augmentation plus a new epic for 54 critical rate more , you can get to 400+ critical rate total which is only ~15% less criticals than if maxed , which is still good enough for when you dont spam skills.
Isn;t crossbow range a little bit smaller than bows?
It might be , I havent yet looked into it yet . In essence , you cannot be at max range in all pvps( we dont pvp in open field , bare sieges at least) and the skill range should remain the same with bow or with crossbow, so this should not matter anyway.
