That's called self ownage. Guess how many ppl you just made rage/emoquit the game or at least not buying NCstore stuff cause you can't provide actual coverage of your services.
I know nobody from the staff (who cares/can do anything about it) will read this but this whole forum is all about this - ppl QQing about stuff and other ppl making fun of them.
BTW I have no problem with this issue (yet), since I happen to be at work these days exactly at the busiest hours but it is still Rtarded
even the people that dont pay now would pay in the future if these things didnt exist and the game was actually enjoyable but the thing is, they turn away the existing customers imo. I know that bot protection doesnt exist, being that on off, inova, private servers (yes people still bot but they have nolifers gms that monitor everyone) and we got used with that over years but they really really lack live GMs. Just port every 5 minutes to every city and see the amount of bots with random names and adena sellers, is this too much to ask?
Bots won't go away, NC doesn't care, most if not all old l2 players stopped hopping years ago.
I would suggest new people play the game the way it feels awright for them together with their friends and have whatever fun they can get, otherwise just change game ^^
Sadly Korea is kinda far away and L2 is not "serious business" for them, they have starcraft, warcraft etc as games they expect balanced and fair gameplay, L2 is a sidekick.
Btw whining on forums makes no difference as is probably only admins read it (and delete threads :P). We had HGM =spam= to the past showing us his infinite PR power with his "i'll do this, i'll do that" attitude (of course nothing was happening :D) but anyway in case you see a GM ingame (one in a million) you should let them know your feelings for bots, they won't care buuuuuuut at least might make you feel better :P
the problem is, that noone give a **** about the EULA... those characters in TI, are NOT from L2 client... those are OOG bots... but who give a **** about third party software? noone... half of online players are bots.
Those farmers dont give a **** about players also... but players keep buy from them, to help them destroying the fun of everyone. Continue to buy from farmers, and they continue to destroy your fun. good luck finding a spot when your game crash or you get dc.

So that make me understand you are on that side (the bots sde)... maybe you're their best customer... you deal with it. If I cannot log into the game when I want to, I will buy NOTHING from you. This includes events, Territory Wars, and sieges. I don't understand the problem here. I also play City of Heroes free and I haven't seen ANY log in issues in that game. :confused:
The way FREE to PLAY works is that the free time given to the customers is like a loss leader, convincing us to spend money on the game. We like what we see and are willing to buy. If customers cannot log in, they are convinced to do the opposite. (If you already know this, you aren't acting like it.) Actually, that type of scenario got me to play in the first place in open beta. For crying out loud, do something effective, NC Soft.

No one is going to buy anything from the NCStore if there is a good chance that after activating it you get kicked form server and then can't log back in because of all the stupid lvl 1 event boxes taking up server spots. No one like to just throw money away. If no one is buying from the store then there will be nothing to keep the servers up, so they will have to shut the game down.

However, if they're at all interested in "keeping their customers" and "doing what's right;" that is, keeping their customers from feeling like they got shafted, shouldn't they at least make it explicitly known in the item details that the timers would keep running during maintenance rather than leaving it at the more-ambiguous "The remaining time decreases even when not playing?" Or better yet, how about simply freezing the timers for maintenance?
Furthermore, if everything in the game that has a time component attached to it were to keep running through maintenance, that would be one thing. At least, there would be uniformity throughout the game so that it could be predicted more reliably.
That some items' timers stop and others keep running during maintenance (or whether the player is logged in or not, whether the item is stored in a warehouse, kept unequipped, etc.) only lends to the potential confusion that may occur.
because of your poor management for your server I can not login play... I would not complain if i did not spend a peny. I come from Rappelz, which has come to be know as the king of the grinders. The customer server is horrible, so bad that NCsoft can not possibly be worse. Our support makes things rightm takes them awhile to do it but they make it right. I know this because we had the same issue L2 is having now about a year ago. For a month my server crashed on a daily basis. The timed items people used got refunded and they gave the server a exp and drop boost after the problem was fixed. Took way longer to fix than it should have and the event was only a week, but still solved the issue. You see, to stay alive as a F2P game, which this now is, you have to take care of your customers. Or else they just go to another F2P game. So yes, I truely believe they will make this right, it just might take time, alot of time.

Numot...if you are used to poor customer support then you are in for a treat here. Not only is there no support here but the events are planned for max frustration. Stick around for a few months and you will think that Rappelz was magnificently run :D

First, you come from playing another piss-poorly run NCSoft game. You're well-versed in NCSoft's terrible support. If someone were coming from, say, WoW, where customers are treated with even a modicum of respect and care, or any number of F2P games where customers are treated even remotely well, this would come as a surprise to those people.
Stop assuming that everyone's perspective must be the same as yours.
Second, "because if you have ever played a F2P game" immediately assumes that all L2 players have played an F2P game before, which ignores the many possible players who have never played an F2P game or any MMO (or any PC game) for that matter.
Third, if NCSoft really cared about "making things right," they would have made it so that maintenance stopped timers already. Not only would that be good for customers, but it would also be good for NCSoft, as it saves them from having to deal with the irate customers who feel they've gotten cheated out of what they paid for because of maintenance and the backlash that creates.

Try to get it reimbursed. Let us know (at least a PM to me, please ^_^) if they reimburse you for the rune.
Many of us have runes, and we're all getting the rough end of the deal.

Ok, please don't post in this thread, you don't know what you are talking about. He wants to be compensated for an unexpected issue that prevents people for logging in when they always have been and NCsoft has been slow to fix it, wasting their items. What you posted is your own fault, everyone knows what time maitenance is and how long it is. Maitenance is an every week thing, same time every week. How did you not know that if you foolishly buy a 5 hour rune an hour before maitenance you would only get an our out of it. That was your own fault.
Who said I bought a 5 hour Rune? But you had to try to be smart *** again!
I was talking about 7day duration Rune, so no matter what time I buy the rune I lose 4 hours during maintenance. Planned or not it is not in my hands to either log in or stay offline to waste my Rune time.
yeah me to i bought a 5 hr 50% xp rune and didnt see any difference much in xp gain with my mentor buffs on so you really only need those after lvl89. And since the ability to be able to play during the tersi's light event is none existant i would not buy anything at this time till event is over. Looks like the game will just be bots during events so i guess you should expect that now l2 is truley free.
