Well after 75 levels 1 level away from Cardinal i have to say goodbye.. mabey im not cut out for the grind (and yes the grind is still very much alive in the game after level 70). Since i was getting 0.02 percent per kill i decided to do the daily quests.. with a ratio of 10 people per mob and my uber healer dps, people KS = your not getting them done this year, never mind today.. so i got ****** and killed this guy that was ks all tries. oh look! im red! Surprise!! cant defend your spot either.. in other words i lost.. moving on.. Peace!
Something is wrong if you are only gaining 0.02% per kill. At ~78, I'd gain about 0.10% per kill at Wall of Argos. One thing to bear in mind with this game is that while you might be qualified to hunt at one of six or so places for your given level, chances are you will be a lot more effective at one than the others. Definitely experiment with that. You might also have a less-than-ideal class for whatever your goals are (solo vs. group).
A mentor is pretty much required if you want to level swiftly. If you enjoy the game, I wouldn't give up so easily. If you don't, there are many others out there.
Also, a bishop is like a ******* magnet for massive XP parties, you just got to advertise yourself... join a clan, do some parties, get to know people...
or you could just give me your bishie and ill take good care of it :).
.02 per mob is not bad actually, my friends in rappelz get about .002 a mob at around lvl 150, but the Rappelz max lvl is 170 atm, which no one has yet reached I think. My friends call a good dp one that they get 1-2%exp in, dps take an hour by the way. 1-2 exp an hour is what they get, .02 is sounding really good actually.
And a good clan/guild makes the whole game more enjoyable, it almost takes all the pain out of grinding. Almost.
wonder what all these people would do pre GoD, pre Vitality, pre constant double exp events :S
I remember aoeing Tully's trains and my exp bar moving every second train :)
They would not have lasted 30 minutes. I remember grinding for 2 months just to go from level 40 to 50 soloing, now you can do it in a single day.

That's why private servers exist and are so popular. Anyway it's not so much about the slow grind, but about the competition (people farming 12h+/day) and people stupidity (this doesn't need explanation in my opinion).

Today's L2 players are spoiled. :D
Yes we are and we are loving it. This new heavily watered down grind is almost painless. The nearly grind free part of the game is my favorite part, manly because I noticed in rappelz I just can't stand the boring grinds for very long without going to another game.
