How do you use Tree of life skills?

Aeore Healer Started Last reply 43 posts
I have been trying to use my skills on the tree of life, but none seem to work. Someone told me you hold down control, but that didn't work. I saw someone's tree move once so I know that they can be used. Does anyone know how to get them to work?
don't tree's of life just heal automatically?
i didn't know you had to click a skill for them.
It has skills like a summons, is suppose to be able to move to target, follow master and has a party cure debuff/heal. I just cannot get them to work. I could sure use the cure since I lost mass cure para when I awakened and the new single target cure has an annoying reuse time, and running up to my party members to plant a tree has gotten me killed a few times lol.
Tree has same range as ur heals so why exactly do u have to run to them?
Tree does a heal periodically. It heals HP, or cp if hp is full. Also it can crt heal. Both HP and CP.
If u are debuffed, it has a chance to remove those debuffs. But it wouldn't remove airial yoke..and a few other debuffs, like the poision u incure at teredor.

It also has a short range, about 300 omidirectional.
Also it seems to like to summon behind u, rather then in front of you for some odd *** reason!! So maybe you'd want to get used to turning your back before planting it if you're trying to plant in near melee party members.

1 last thing, it only affects party members, not clanies/allies(CC)...incase your wondering for sieges/mass pvp.
Odd, my SE awakened to Aore Healer and still has mass cure poison.

Anyway, why run up to party to plant tree when u have a pushback nuke?
to move the tree you need to use skill "Dark Force"
/useskillforce Dark Force

Too many ppl feel the need to run up close to the mobs to plant trees. There really is no point to the tree most of the time (aka you can heal ppl just fine without running out of mp). Or you can just put it up where you stand.
the tree has 600 range so that should be 600 in all directions

if it were only 300 in all directions it should say 300..
all ur heals have 600 range, so where ur heals reach, the tree reach
Progressive Heal has 900 btw...

I'm pretty certain you got lucky and hit a glitch with that. Mass purify isn't listed on the skills you keep and I didn't get any mass cure skills when I awakened to healer with cardi skills. My SE kept lord of vampire when awakening to nike though, but lost it when I re-logged. In fact all 4 toons I've awakened kept some pre-awakening skills that they lost on re-logging.

On topic: Tree just seems to do it's own stuff. Personally I stand with the ranged attackers and plant a tree to occasionally heal them while I use my heals on the melee/tank. Tree heals are too random to rely on but ok for backup on people who don't get hit often.

The tree can throw out some pretty decent heals. If you can heal fine without it, you will heal even better with it so why not use it especially if mana is not an issue most of the time? It can only benefit the group so not using it makes zero sense to me.

Thre tree can be an aggro magnet, especially in some places like SOA. Also what's the point in wasting MP, Casting Time and messing round maintaing the tree if you don't need it?

(In RE Progressive Heal) I only use that when all other heals on cooldown

WOW, Really? :O

Progressive is my main heal, Balance for backup or when ranged members take damage and Panic heal is for dire times. Progressive heals most of the party for TONS of HP virtually instantly and has a small cooldown. Both Radiant and Brilliant heal are weak and slow cast.
all my heals are instant cast
all my heals are instant cast

They're still weak heals on Tanks with 35k HP. Personally I find just going for max cast to be an unadventurous and weak setup, but to each his own.

At least these guys THINK they know what they are talking about.

But no. Tree is crap, only put it up if I know im about to be CC'd or something.

Progressive is still by far the best heal Aeore has. Who heals with anything but % heals these days lol. An ISS enchanter can heal better than your single target power heals.
Balance+Progressive takes care of most of the situations. Tree is just a plus.
Tree of Life: I summon it near me to keep me and ranged attackers healed. Keeps me focused on melees who usually takes pounds of damage.

Sustain: I maintain this on all my party members. I find the small regen useful in mitigating damage and the 200 heal power boost helpful when spamming panic heal.

Fairy: Healing Cubic on tank. Makes my job much easier.

Progressive Heal: Main heal that instantly restores a ton of health and is spammable.

Balance Life: Backup heal in case thing go awry.

Panic Heal: Same as Balance heal but single target.
I agree with Raina most of all from the replies to the original query.

I don't understand how some can say the tree is useless. Perhaps those players who find playing without the tree to be sufficient are playing with higher level players with full elements on their armors in a level appropriate area. My experience is playing in SOA, Harnaks, Teredor, where the mobs are yellow to me and my party members. For me, I see the tree as indispensible.

I push the tree near the tank and not near me unless the tank is failing to use his skills to keep agro (in which case the tree stays near me and the other squishy party members). In either case, it is my belief that you must push the tree nearer to where you want the heal effect to be maximized and assured. While I don't know whether the range of effect of the tree is 300 or 600, it definitely is not 900. I've experimented with positioning the tree half way between the tank/melee and the ranged, but at times this seemed like it was doing little for either. So for me the best tree position is close to the tank.

The tree cures debuffs as well and I feel this is not discussed enough. I rely on it to cure because I actually have the bad habit of setting my party bar to watch the buffs and not the debuffs ... mainly because I am in a lot of random parties where ISS may not be diligent and where responsibility for nobling is not well defined.

There is also another reason to use the tree involving progressive heal and balance life...

In any event, I hope that the divergent opinions do not deter new aoere healers to make use of their trees in set situations like Harnaks, Teredor and SOA.
I hate those newb healers that run out and put their tree up right next to my tank, and then the tree gets 2 shotted by the SOA group mob leader.

If I can keep ppl alive (and I've had parties where 4 out of 7 are in dynasty with Mentors guidance buffs), then so can anyone. And no tree is needed. In SOA most of the time I dont even have to Rebirth even once for the daily quest.
(Reaction on progressive heal) I only use that when all other heals on cooldown
You dont use the best heal healers ever had.
Small tip: target person closest to the tank and check that miracle out.

+1. Apart from when I use my active reflect, those trees can do nice damage!

Why on earth would anyone in their right mind rely on something to heal at random in situations when you need to heal instantly? For me the tree is to have next to me to protect range classes whilst I heal the melee with progressive, it means I can keep balance for emergencies rather than people die because it's re-use isn't up.

Angel + Sustain on tank, progressive for people near tank (usually ready to use instantly since angel heals tank). Tree for when ranged are taking damage, like the snipers in hanark or Terredor poison.
Why would range take dmg from snipers in harnak?

Tank hates them and moves towards the opposite side the ranged fighters are on. Snipers are now facing away from them, no dmg.

Tell your tanks.

Meh, planting a tree gives me something more to do and breaks up the same old heal pattern so I don't mind. :D
Sorry, but I try not to get in the habit of spending more mp than I absolutely need to.

I dont wanna be a sloppy healer.

If mp were an issue I'd certainly mention it. However it isn't and I like to save complaints for important issues.

P.S. I also like to keep things loose and mixed up, playing in groups that do everything right never teaches you anything. Bad grroups hone your reactions and give you better tactics you can use in pvp.
Oh, I do random groups all the time on my healer, dont get me wrong.

But that dont mean I'm gonna use skills all willinillily.

It's hardly using skills willynilly, it's being tactical and giving myself room to experiment with stuff I wouldn't normally bother using. :)

I'm just glad I was OL not healer for our archer groups back in c3. We'd hunt in a cata room until everyone was ok on MP then send an SR round to pull 20-30 mobs from all rooms nearby onto our group, I'd spam AOE root and debuff and the healer would have a heart attack trying to keep us alive with old greater heal, no clarity and archers getting wtfpwned by tons of mobs at once lol.
Sounds like a party stupid enough to party recall with lol.
Sounds like a party stupid enough to party recall with lol.

Lol, we did have one guy who gave a massive rant in vent, called us insane then bsoe'd after we'd pulled the whole of TOI 9 on ourselves and were talking about doing it again.

To be honest I'd love to be back in groups like that, we were so tightly knit and knew all our skills and how best to use them that we pretty much owned anyone in pvp. The constant mass pulls and near death experiences made pvp seem like childsplay. The only times we struggled was when people like playa or dontlookatme would come with a group and gank us.
There is no blueprint to this stuff, no right or wrong. Personally I use the tree a lot, it makes thing MUCH easier in masss aoe settings especially when the healer wants to get some of the aoe action. I like having the tree and the fairy stacking heals while i change the song on my IPOD.

Without the tree it would make AOE much more boring, as the tree and the fairy buff free the healer up to do other things.
Keep summoning your tree if you have the need to file your nails I guess.

I just dont see my mp going to good use with a tree in most parties.

Teredor poison puddle stage, sure, but not much else.
when the update first launched I felt the tree was too much and they were trying to make healing too easy and blueprinted. Parties within the last month or so have defiantely changed my mind of this as the damage being done to the party is so that without the tree i couldnt constant spam AOE damage and Spam heals for the party at the same time. Situational.

Agreed.

To the treeless healers, yes the tree can receive one shot death, but it can survive quite a long time as well. Wasting mp? The tree, used properly, SAVES your mp. SOA Daily without rebirth> - sure I've experienced this but I surmise that you treeless healers haven't experienced bad SOA parties where the tank doesn't keep agro, the ISS doesn't debuff, the wizards blow all their MP within the first 5 minutes and the party takes mass aoe damage or non-tank takes agro. You go with the flow and while some elitist healers may abandon such parties, one can often survive such chaotic play by using all tools at hand.
I have had those parties, and very rarely do I have to rebirth.

Talk to your party, tell them what to do, or not to do.

And no, I dont really leave a party coz its bad. But I also wont shut up at the end of that party when they say good job to eachother when it clearly wasnt.
Agreed.

+1 to what Smittie said, I'm exactly the same, no problems with parties like that and don't leave them....

However I do kinda find it ironic that you mention this when the Tree is the #1 reason mobs lose aggro in SOA since they're programmed to go for the summoner and the tree near the party pulls aggro, lol.
On a separate issue am I right in thinking that in Terredor raids the tank should be pulling the boss out of the poison pools? Had some really edgy raids recently there and the only diff I've noticed is that people aren't moving Terredor about like other groups.

Idiot tank had the balls to say I was gimp too because I have duals not an acumen weapon, he knew everything because he has a healer sub, lol. (Don't think he understood when I showed him the +3/300 apo buster with acu unused in my inv.)
Agreed.

There are so many things that factor into Wizard mana consumption from Gear to Sub Skills to Buffs/Toggles to even Clan skills that you sound dumb making that statement.

In any case a Wizard should not be going out of mana in SoA unless the group is full of ******s because tons of Mana Pots drop there. Even a Wizard running Emp Echo and Arcane Power shouldn't have issues there unless someone is mindlessly spamming pickup.

I don't PUG SoA because there are too many bad players these days that don't know how to play. When a tank I'm trying to help get groups PMs me saying he needs to learn how to tank before he goes to Harnak and I have to give him a tutorial from a website forum thread on the spot something is wrong in the game. It's becoming way to **** common.

I'm not the wizard in party so I can't tell you what they are doing exactly, but I have observed they have EE on and note that their MP usage tends to decline rapidly. I'm not going to tell them how to manage their MP so how does the observation make me sound dumb? It's simply an observation derived from experience.

As far as telling people in random parties what to do (Smittie), I have no desire to do so. Such parties rarely last long and lessons not learned will mark their reputation so that those players will not easily find parties. I've already observed that a certain feoh wizard has difficulty finding parties because of poor play.

As for the tree causing agro (Ferine), I would argue that timing and placement of the tree as well as judgement on the appropriateness of summoning it in a given situation do mitigate the risk of causing the mobs to agro oneself. Certainly no healer would summon the tree if it was causing mobs to agro himself/herself.

These are just my opinions. In the end, a healer is judged by the comparative experience of non-healers and whether the party you are in is successful or fails.
That's because AoEs cost 200+ MP per cast and we chain them in parties while XPing. Double Casting reduces MP cost by 50% but it's on a long reuse and no one in their right mind is dropping Arcane Power for Wizard Spirit, which is also on a cooldown. AP adds too much M.Atk to lose for a cooldown.

Just a Vesper Noble Set + 1 Epic with Clarity + Holy Squad 3 is almost 15% Clarity, nevermind Sub Skills and other factors (Some have faster casting speed and reuse so their MP Consumption may be higher than others, though their DPS is also higher as a result).

Sweeping generalizations always have the effect I mentioned.

In any case Nukers should not have MP issues in those group zones unless the group is bad and killspeeds are so low that MP pots disappear during the pull or someone is spamming pickup and picking them all up in those places (like SoA/DVC, etc.).
To Ferine: Short answer, yes.

For easy Teredor: 2 healers 1 tank 1 enchanter 3 nukers/archers where atleast one is archer (eggs).

As a party protecting healer you SHOULD be telling people where they're messing up if it's affecting the party, no one else will. As you say in your last comment healers are always judged by non-healers based on how the party survives. If people die the healer gets blamed regardless of whether they spammed mana or aggroed mobs or whatever.

If no one gives any advice then no one ever learns. I've been playing years and consider myself a good healer but I'll still ask questions so I can find answers to make myself better. I never overlook advice in parties if theres some way I can improve myself.

With nukers I always tell them to remove echo, pick up pots if they're not and make a comment if they're spamming mana, they don't for long.

Cheers, seems clear now. Problem was it was in melee heavy parties and the tank wasn't moving the boss so 4-5 party members were stood getting 6+ poisons stacked within seconds so dropping 70-80% HP before even progressive heal re-use was up. Still survived and killed the boss though thanks to me and the other healer being on the ball.
