Come on people, you guys sound like little kids with all your complaining on the forum. For gods sake stop bashing Ncsoft, atleast they are trying, thats more than I can say for more than half the game companies out there. Go play a game made by Gpotato, or EA, or Gamersfirst, or any other company that comes to mind. Gpotato's top game Rappelz has all the same problems of Linage 2 for about half the fun. EA has a F2P game called Battleforge that they seem to have completly forgot about, it has been about 2 years since it had any major updates. Gamersfirst put there new racing game Victory into closed beta, said they would listen to the players and go with the players. We tested one setup that had a few minor defects but nothing bad, they than changed to a completly new setup, we tested that, found the old one to be way better for the game, that was about 6 months ago and they are still running the new system.
I have more games and companies that I can post about, but these are all that come to mind at the time. Really guys, give NCsoft a break, you guys treak them like they are the worlds worst game company.

Well, seems you have tried a lot of games and yes there are issues with any game, however, these problems are not a one-off. This soulshot and item lag is the last in a long long long list of issues. If you had played the game for a long as some other players here (not including myself) then you could see that this is really a case of the straw that broke the camel's back.
Its all well and good saying give them a break but its frustrating when they badly manage so many things and get so much wrong. If nothing was said in critism then they would take even less care with their support of the game - which is already astonishingly bad, so I would hate to think what that would even be like.

Trust me when I (and other vet players) tell you that the measures NCSoft takes against botters (and thus the server lag & random D/C's) is NOT ENOUGH.
NCSoft still thinks GameGuard prefents the bottters from logging on while the botters don't even use the Lineage II client. They have their own tools that they can run 24/7 without the use of ANY NCSOFT RELATED PROGRAM.
The bots are the main problem that's running here and without proper measures nothing will change. Actually, NOTHING HAS EVER CHANGED HERE. Since I Started playing here in 2006, I've quited more than once because I was sick & tired of all the bots running around. By my knowledge there has been one 1 big BOT BAN ever (sept 2010), and from then on Lineage Ii was playable. Now since it's F2P, bots are back and taking over the server.
Now you ask me for a PERMANENT solution against the bots? Easy - Let the SERVER check if GameGuard is loaded. If no GG in your compuer's system (which can be checked and IS LEGAL since it's part of the L2 client), then you're INSTANT BAN. Problem solved.
And the botters trying to cheat on this..? Good luck. GG sees the botting program and will shutdown itself ;)

We are not even sure if Battleforge even has gms still, and I have seen Rappelz take a month to say anything about an ingame issue, a day is actually pretty good compared to what I am used to seeing.

And how did I know you would post here. I hate to tell you this but we can prema ban and IP ban the bots all we want, it is actually very easy for people with computer skills to reset their Ip adress and have a new bot up and running. As for gameguard, yes, it is a bad system, Rappelz used to have Hackshield I think was the name of it. No hacks, no bots. They then switched to gamegaurd, hello hacks and hello bots. Yes F2P unleashed more bots, give NCsoft time to deal with it, it not like we could do any better ourselves. Your idea for gamegaurd checking would work, but I don't have any idea how you would make such a system, do you? If it was easy it would have been done already. Another thing they could do is replace the gamegaurd, which once again would take time.
And thank you for assuming I have no experince with NCsoft, but I actually played one of their earilier F2P games, so NCsoft is not new too me, I knew what I was getting into. You remember Exteel, the Mech combat game NCsoft had, the game that had billboards in it everywhere as ads for NCsoft P2P games, inculding L2. I remember leaving that game for almost a year to play other games, came back to it and it had no updates to be installed. So considering we have weekly updates NCsoft is not what they were a few years ago. Could NCsoft work faster, maybe, but we need to understand these things will take time and we need to give them the time.
And one of your other points Demi, yes, we can expect bot bans soon as they are nolonger paying NCsoft and are actually costing them money now. Bots don't pay anymore and drive the paying people that a F2P game needs away. This is also why we will see compensation for what happened in these past weeks in some form, because they want to keep those of us that put money into the game around. They therefor understand that when we say buy an exp rune we due fear what happens if there is a server issue that wastes it, and since they want us to buy them they take care of that fear by making sure if something does happen that they make it right. Even the worst game companies do this, so NCsoft will.

Just look into it deeply for a moment. The way the servers are being ran, could be performed by any party with a nice machine, 2 people checking forums, 1 gm ingame "checking" bots" and possibly banning them, 1 game dev, some translator, 1 web designer and 1 head chef...k done.
The game is not even DONE by our devs, so, for a moment let's think, what good job are you refering to?

As a paying customer I will voice my opinion when their service is not up to par. I can live with and have come to accept a lot that NC does, or does not do, but their servers in this state is completely unacceptable.

mind = blown. anyone that's played p2p retail can tell you how much of a bot fest the game was, and how nobody ever got banned. The game was always good, but the company behind it was terrible.

If they don't refund exp runes and time lost then yes, if the game had been F2P for say 6 months instead of just 1 month then yes, but where this game is new to F2P and seems to be willing to refund once this is fixed then I won't say it is acceptable but it is understandable. I understand that these things take time and that there are going to be rough patchs when going from P2P to F2P. I don't ask you to accept it, I just ask that you be understanding of the whole thing and give them some time.

Mentoring system is missing? No, it's working as intended there. Again, not a real issue compared to us. Mentoring system only works for p2p models, that's why you say it's not "working" there, but that's how korean developed it.

It covers the hacking that Rappelz has been dealing with for about 2 years now, and Rappelz is the game I came here from. So I have to say L2 is alot better.

What about players that disable GameGuard for legitimate reasons, such as compatibility issues with drivers and/or programs? There are far easier ways to detect bots that doesn't involve putting innocent players in the line of fire. If NCSoft wanted to, they could ban them right now.
Whatever the case, bots have always existed and they certainly aren't the problem at the moment.
@OP customer complaints make the company see what they can improve on. If there's no complaints = no improvement = the company is going backwards. For now, the only problem is when people start to verbal abuse the forum moderators, as they have nothing to do with the game development but just passing the words along.

You wanted an early end to the event, you got it. As soon as you get you then start complaining that you got ripped off by the event ending early. Kinda of like you just want to be difficult.
Now they have given you guys the free server transfer for players on the 2 older servers to move to a newer server. I wonder how long until I see some of the same people that asked for it start complaining about like they did with the event. That is what pushed me over the edge, no matter what NCsoft does, even if it is exactly what the players asked for, you guys don't seem to be happy.

Would you like it if someone gave you a job, you do it exactly as they asked of you, and when your finished instead of thank you they go off on you about how you ripped them off and did not do what they wanted.
