L2 has highest number of scammers i've seen in all mmo i played. In perfect world when i tried to sell item which share the same icon of high value item i got 15 days ban. And it was a fair penalty :) In l2 u can scam how much u want and this provides the worst community i have ever played.

The registration for EU closed beta was open a couple of days ago. It will be out in 3 - 4 months .. fingers crossed. I don't think I can take another 3 - 4 months of L2 though xD
Online friends and pvp. Other than that, L2 as it is now is a reflection of the chaos present in the world, and I mean the players not the content. With the type of community that I have the misfortune to come in contact with each day I play, without the friends I have and make in game, I wouldn't give this game the time of day. And not because the game is bad because its amazing.

Because, like Eve Online. Lineage 2 is a nice little example of the human condition. Anger, Greed, Envy, Pride, Lust, Slot, and Gluttony. In fact if i can probably link all 7 sins from the forum threads alone. The developers encourage the behavior as well, until well the almighty bottom line forced them to discard a lot of it and introduced welfare epics.
Look at the WoA dailies. They have the power to increase the spawn rates, drop rates and mobs. They also have the power to introduce more quests. But they don't because they are trying to introduce conflict amongst the players, PvP, etc. Fight over a scarce commodity.
Scamming is 'frowned' upon but it's actually actively encouraged in the game. Originally every time you died you had a chance to drop something from your inventory, up to 5 items. So one bad encounter and you could lose, literally the shirt on your back, your weapon, etc. You could then walk back to town, and get scammed by a private store or deal in town. One of the most bas.ta.rd things you could do was to gank someone and then setup a store to sell the stuff he dropped. Then this g.a.y game of tag and flag came along...and now going red is a complete waste of time.
So what we have now is a hybrid bas.ta.rd child of an MMO. Not truly hardcore with an extra helping of welfare. However, it's still L2, and there's plenty of humanity to still watch...best with popcorn and soda pop.

Because this is the highest quality free MMO there is. I can't justify paying for an MMO, because all of the paid MMOs are generic. Even the ones that haven't come out yet.

Saying that Tera Online has nice graphics is mildly putting it. Talk about Boobies....

2) pve/pvp but right now im always pve/bsoe,ya know need to reach 95 asap :p
3) awesome graphics
4) weapon & skill overenchanting
5) weapon augmentations
6) some quests
7) new awakened skills
8) buy and sell/auction shop
9) local and international friends online
10) and the last, its one of the best mmorpg in the world for me :)
The main reason for me to play lineage2 is the fact that am sick of quest-driven "mmorpgs".... Having the freedom again to choose what to do is refreshing.
I havent played for more than 1 hour in the past 2 weeks, the server is just to crappy... I've quit trying (for now) and am playing a different game (world of tanks) at the moment, which I like alot too.

2. I made alot of friends, so it's semi-social aswell
3. PvP / PvE (hate quests)
4. Graphics
Playing Eve for almost 2 years has made me paranoid. But at least I don't fall for the scams because of that =) In Eve everyone is out to get you, Lineage is a kid's game compared to that

Tera looks nice BUT it`s a game 100% depended of PING, because of targeting system, if you lag a little or do not have minimal ping you cannot pvp decently no matter how good player you are...It`s a really big issue if you are totally a PVP player..So that kind of suks,but in rest looks good

If anything the game is better, I quit back in C1 and when I read about GoD I immediately resubscribed and started all over. I've played EVERY MMO that has come out since L2 and they all suck in comparison
i quitted to play linege2 more than a year ago but when i quitted i saw the first trailer of GOD and i wanted to play GOD..
so my plan originaly was waiting for a private server with GOD
but ncsoft ****** my plans turning his servers free XD...
Honestly, I don't really know. I actually thought about this for awhile last night, during a moment of rage at the game. Mostly because of my clan of 4 years, and some rl friends that I've played with since beta. If not for the community, I would have left in C1 and never looked back.
Merits on the game itself, the art draws me to it. I love the detail of the armor and weapons, most MMO's look drab in compassion, even new ones.
I've tried many MMO's trying to find a new "home" but just always end up back on L2. Maybe Blade & Soul or Guild Wars 2 will be my new home, but who knows. I never imagined I would be playing the same game for this many years, heheh. L2 is truly a love/hate relationship for me.
and I Must Kill Mobs..... over and over and over.....
ive been known to stand in the same spot not moving killing the same 4 mobs 4 12hrs straight.......
And ill keep doing it till they pry the keyboard from my cold dead fingers....

Personally I was going to play the game as some free time activity, not too hardcore, not too casual, but honestly thanks to all the recent (and not so recent) troubles that we've all seen in past weeks kind of made me loose my will to play, so it's mostly AFK-ing (in rare case somehow I don't get disconnected in matter of hours).

Just one reason... Best MMO mechanics I've ever seen.
I hate faction based MMO games because in RL it's not as black/white as well. L2 (and also EVE online, but I dislike the space setting) is one of the few MMOs that differ in that where players make up their political system on the server ;)

Nothing wrong being a WoW player. Blizzard knows how to make great games. I played L2 from OB to c5/c6, got terribly annoyed at the whole bot thing and that Dino expansion looked ... zzzz. Left L2 to stomp the LK a new one and by god, Wrath of the Lich King Expansion was probably the most fun I've had in an MMO. The Lich King dungeon run and fight is still the most memorable MMO experience i've had in a MMO.
Now i'm back with L2, it's still mostly the L2 that I left, minus 90% of the bots. To be honest I'm impressed with how NCsoft has managed the clamp down on the bots. But since it's all too new and early to start singing their praise, I'll leave it as that.
