Recently, the Bartz Poll (http://www.lineage2.com/en/news/events/vote-on-bartz.php) decided on the new Castle Siege time schedule for the Bartz server. Although a revolutionary idea, changing the Castle Siege time removed Castle Sieges from the otherwise harmonious and synchronized schedule of server occurrences. To maintain the harmonius schedule and prevent confusion surround the server's time zone, the entire server's schedule is being moved to match the winning Castle Siege time. Other scheduled server occurrences include Territory Wars, Olympiad start-time, daily quest reset times, instanced zone reset times, and more.
This change may seem shocking, especially now that the Bartz Poll is closed and voters did not know it would affect server times as well. However, the winning time in the Bartz Poll ended up being only one hour later than the existing server time. As such, all scheduled activities on Bartz will occur one hour later than previously.
This change on Bartz will take place with the maintenance of January 18, 2012.
This change is also in alignment with the new Castle Siege and Server Times Poll, which will decide on the new Castle Siege times, and subsequently new server times in general, for all other servers. I don't want to be rude, but this is the best way to define and set server time zone. You set Bartz GMT-4 which is ridiculous for Europeans, according sieges time poll (not server time zone poll) and less than 25% community voted. It's not right.
Anyways, if you want to keep Bartz GMT-4 please give us a chance to trasfer our characters to Magmeld or any other EU server.
+1 on the Graph... I dont want to transfer of course neither my clan mates... Just Gmt-4 is tough... We have chance to join Oly after 02:00 in the midnight, and sieges after 00:00 at the midnight also.. :/
With the way the other polls are going it seems this will be the only server which is solidly in the NA time zone as far as sieges go. All the others are -2/-1/0/+1 GMT. :x Might need to see some possible transfers to those that one the to play on their servers with desired time zone??

It is. Everything real-clock based will happen an hour earlier.
Say, the "quest reset" at 06:30 (local time). In UTC-5, that'll happen at 11:30 UTC (since 11:30 - 05:00 = 06:30). In UTC-6, that'd happen at 12:30 UTC (12:30 - 06:00 = 06:30), an hour later.
bartz oly will start @ 10PM GMT+0
and TW would be 12PM GMT+0, aka midnight, so like 4am for russains or 2pm for greeks
No, not quite.
Server olympiad happens from 18:00 to 24:00 on that server's time zone. Bartz is at UTC-5 (... and let's hope NCSoft is sensible enough to not mess with it just to keep it synchronised with some daylight saving time schedule or other), so that's 23:00 to 05:00 UTC on the following day (remember - "UTC-x" means you have to subtract the "x" from the global UTC time to arrive at local time).
23:00 to 05:00 UTC is ...
... 01:00 to 07:00 for the Greeks at the moment (Greece is at UTC+2 during the winter)
... 02:00 to 08:00 for the Greeks in the summer (that's when Greece is at UTC+3)
... 03:00 to 09:00 for the European part of Russia (that's at UTC+4, all year long).
So yeah, if you want to do Oly, better wake up early.

Same here, im confused as hell, i hear/read lots of infos and nothing/no one gives 100% accurate informations about what time will be set.
Also if Bartz will be NA i would like to ask if there will be possible to transfer chars to some EU servers.
1 new server NA New (free transfers from new servers)
1 new server Euro New (free transfers from new servers)
1 new server Chronos/Naia Overflow (free transfers from all servers), vote/determine on timezone ahead of time.
If your NA playing on euro or if your euro playing on NA, no crying about times.
This is stupid to open vote, you can end up with all 3 server NA or all 3 server euro with no way to transfer?
ITs a NA time server... not a EU... it'S a NA since the creation why you started here if you are a EU player
from the polls u can seee 70-80% players are EU based, NCSoft can only open new USA zone servers. its a FACT that Naia being the only EU server cannot take the near 8-10K+ new EU players, its been full in prime EU time since 2nd week of GOD update. so makes since EU had 2 choice, either go USA server, or dont play
dont play = no nccoin purchase, no purchase = NCSoft closes L2

I bet NCsoft is just tricking us all. Note that when you "vote" you move with siege window times - colored in a way so you probably missed that part as did I when "voted" for Bartz. So you are happy EU player and click onto 19 o'clock then notice you will put these white selection on something like 18-20 + 21-23 -> that perfectly makes server set to NA times. Fail! Feel scummed? I do.
To get Euro times for server you need to put selection on 14-16 + 18-20 times when you vote. Means you actuly need to click onto 15 on graph when picked GMT+1 time zone in box.
@Sace is there a chance to organize migration from Bartz to some GMT+1 server ?
There are lots of voices about "being not so happy about timezone set" and
for now there are 3500 ppl online that may mean something. Someone said that server is occupied by EUs, its kind of true...
So after all the fanfare about picking a server time, everything was at the same time that Chronos is. Sieges were at 5 PM EST when the vote was specifically for 4 PM EST.
From yesterday's siege all noticed that most players chose the first time siege cause of GMT.. The second one was just too late for europeans.. Something like 4:00 in the midnight
And give me a break.. At least Bartz which Im active most players are europeans.. Russians/Italians/Greeks etc..

Naia is old and already FULL server... so..
Why had to choose new server except Naia..

People only voted for first siege time? Who didn't know the other was four hours later? The people who were on Bartz when the server time election was held voted for UTC-5 (margin of ~2.36:1 over second place). Because we get a sudden influx of UTC+1 players cannot be helped. Don't expect anything to happen with Bartz.
All the other servers are up for grabs. Vote and move accordingly.
Besides, there may be yet more new servers coming soon. Why force the issue?

Yes, I posted in this thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=230720) with the response. The first Bartz castle sieges were indeed off by an hour but it was corrected soon after, and now all Bartz times are on schedule to the EST/GMT-5 time zone setting.
