I am wondering if you or any others even have permission to ban botters or cheaters? this is not a flame, its a question.
if you are why cant anyone spent 30 minutes of their day ingame cleaning up?
10 minutes outside goddard/blazing swamp and u will find 20 active botters who will soon be R grade and ruin your game.
10 minutes in swamp and u will find 30 or more botters ruining your game.
10 minutes in any other place like GOG or harnaks or soa and u will find full botgroups ruining the economy and future pvp experience for all real players.
30 minutes of your day to make your game better? sounds pretty good to me so thats why i am wondering if you are even allowed to ban anyone right now or did u get a big no for some reason from the people higher up?
Honnestly, in the 5+ years that I've been on retail they massively banned bots maybe twice and the eventual downfall of the bots was that the game wasn't proffitable enaugh anymore for adena sellers to bot in...
Which left us with only a bunch of 'players' that feel the need to bot or cheat.
By the way, bans of NCSoft for botting/3rd party software use are often not even permanent anymore...
Because some of those bots when they will reach R grade will purchase those packeges they sell in L2 shop. Only reason mate. And of course, those in GoG or Harnak already buy those.
They cut there own profit now, the more they bot the less xp runes they need or vit pots. Isn't free to play great? Anyway I wish they would just spend 20 minutes each day going to at least aden and banning the 10+ rmt ads/shops etc.
I don't think we will see any change in ban policy before the quarterly report (http://global.ncsoft.com/global/ir/earnings.aspx) for 4Q 2011 has been delivered (around February 10). NCWest is obviously trying to achieve as high a number of accounts as possible, so that in February they can sell GoD and the "totally free" model to the shareholders as a success. Even if they might be able to deceive the shareholders (from a photo I once saw, mostly elderly men who seem not to be very familiar with the finer details of the video game business), sooner or later somebody (probably Lee Seong-gu (http://lineage2.playforum.net/news/lin2hot/id/1046510)) will calculate the revenue per account. Since event farming lvl 1 bots don't buy exp runes and adena farmers don't buy fancy hats, this will result in great unhappiness :D
Bots are a problem, but...no bot can move live 85+ party from exp spot in soa, harnak, magmeld. I will not comment how to get them killed w/o pk'ing all party. Find it yourself
ur right about that at 85+ u neeed a party just to lvl the only place i know of u can still solo kinda is swampland as long as u have the right gear :D
In last weekend I send for consecutive 14 hours the bot report action in dead toon with bot support train... I kill the bot and the buffer train continue send buffs in char, heal, etc for 14 hours.
I see the bot yesterday in same spot. 28 bot reports of only one player don't have none result.
i've killed a bot cause he was in my spot reported him not sure if he got banned or not i'm gonna guess not likely i bet he's still out there botting away
