They've always allowed multi boxing and raked in the cash when people like me paid $30-$45 a month just to be able to solo.
If they didn't want you to multi box they wouldn't give you the option to run multiple instances of the program (which literally is an option you check on and off), they wouldn't have /target namex2 or /follow commands, and they wouldn't have classes like prophet who are only good for buffs and nothing else.
If you don't dualbox this game you're not playing it right imo.

In all honesty, I see it as the same. At some point you just gatta box to get the job done.
Just look at everyone crying for the past month about not being able to get into game, or shot lag stopping them from leveling, kinda the same thing when you want to play a main class thats rather sad on it's own.
In actuality it's longer and harder to box then solo, but more annoying to solo then box, if that makes sense.
I can sit in town as my main (SE) waiting for a good lvling pt and come up with a bunch of randoms who won't bother to play their classes right and end up fricking over the whole group. Or with no pt at all, just sitting in town for an hour.
IMO I would prefer to be out lvling even if it is slower, at least I feel I know what I'm doing and I know what to do to not screw myself over.
Don't have to wait on any stupid pt to finally figure out where they wanna go or how they are going to do it, don't have to sit in town waiting for someone to pick me up for a pt.
Dual box is a must in this game. Get used to it, and stop this l2 private second hand server ideology. They did not allowed dual boxing because their servers coud not take so many people, or they can`t afford the bandwith.
Dont joke me man that what we have now its only a part of old lineage 2, hmm 70 lvl in 5 days solo and no dualbox ? (easy) , and u complain than u sit in town and wait hours for pt??, after 70 lvl u should be in a clan where exp pt its a 1st thing u will get after log in. U dont need dualbox u dont need sit in town and wait ,just what u need its a start that game ,"MMO" mean cooperate with other ppl . PS:sry for my english:D

Boxing and bots have been around as long as L2 has been in release. The mentally was if you weren't cheating, you weren't trying hard enough. That's just how it was. The only people I remember who didn't box were couples who played each others accounts anyway.

Just to be clear here, dual box is not cheating but botting is, these are two different things.
One is live play of both characters and one person controlling every action the chars do, a.k.a dual boxing.
The other one is using 3rd party soft wear to control the chars without a person actually doing anything, a.k.a botting.

if you dont its because you can't afford a CPU that can handle it (which blows my mind seeing as its 2012 and my ****** 5 year old macbook partitioned with windows can dual box)

I see that you come from somewhere where you have NO IDEA what you're talking about. People have been dual-boxing buffers in this game since it started. NCSoft has *always* allowed and encouraged dual-boxing.

Funny, that's EXACTLY why I leveled an enchanter first, and that's EXACTLY what he does in-game: he follows my lowbies around and gives them Sonatas every 5 minutes.
Think before YOU write. This is the way it has always been in L2, and it's how it will continue to be. The *only* place I've ever seen dual-boxing OUTLAWED is on private servers; it has never happened on retail.
