I'm Awakening as an Iss Enchanter from an Orc Dominator. I plan to use it for both group play, solo and duo. I especially want it to be strong in solo PvE.
So I have some questions....
1) Are there any beneficial skills I should keep from my 3rd class (Dominator) ?
2) Should I purchase Forgotten Scrolls? Do these skills get replaced/removed after Awakening?
3) What type of armor and weapon should I use my 40 Mentee Diplomas for?
Any advice is appreciated but please give reason behind your answers. All general advice is also appreciated.
OMG another chanter, stop this
its so much of them , more than all other classes together, and its only 1 place for chanter in pty
if you are ok with forever solo grind - your choice
but if you plan to make parties sometimes - take a tank or any DD - summoner wizard archer warrior
Immortal armor is easy to get.
so don't waste your diploma's on armor.
the diploma armor doesn't crystalize, and doesn't work with non diploma armor to form a set.
weapons, weapons have not been determined which is best yet.
you can use anything but Dagger, Polearm, Bow, and Fists.
anything else can be used with your skills.
you could use any weapon if you like, but you won't be able to use any of your damage skills, or Assault Rush.
there are a lot of things to consider.
carefully read everything.
if you take these skills, it will eat the following. (if you don't)
knights harmony eats soul guard.(lots of people will complain)
Prevailing Sonata eats Soul cry.(i don't know if anyone will notice)
Wizards Harmony eats Arcane Power.(people will complain)
we don't get the option to keep old armor passives :(
i don't know if Stun works post awakening, as i gave it up.
but i suggest you do some tests to see if it might be worth keeping at least until 90.
I play without Knights harmony.
i often end up in multiple enchanter groups.
if i knew that would happen, i may have kept soul cry for increased damage output. but prevailing sonata is very nice, and without a second enchanter it's important to have.

oh my god, stop calling us "chanter"
Enchanting is not the same as Chanting.
Chanting is something that a Warcryer does.
we play enchanting music... completely different from chanting.

Lol don't worry about whether I'll have a party or not, that's far from the topic of this thread.
Thank you Fidgit for the suggestions. I will definitely be replacing the skills you mentioned.

Still looking for answers/info.
The only skill I kept was soul guard.
Yes some tanks get upset without it although if the tank has immortal defense type armor with some element then it is not needed for most parties. It can also be easily boxed with an out of party enchanter (just have to invite it in every 30 mins to give the tank knights harmony).
I have also wondered if I had boxed an enchanter if I could have kept more skills like soul cry to enhance my damage output. With 4k Patk with my current weapon I don't think 400 p.atk would make that much difference plus it would consume mana, which I have issues with sometimes.
I also wonder if the seals would actually land on 85+ mobs if you over-enchanted them as well even if you had to switch to a mage weapon to increase land rate when casting these. (I did test the seals some but only at SoA with +0 skills and dynasty duals. SoA mobs have high resistances to debuffs.)
Also you will want to go with heavy and dual swords+4 with dmg up SA. Dual blunts if you like the looks and crit rate SA.
I believe a Robe set might be beneficial if you are in a party that needs you to assist heal.
I have seen many enchanters that would be better in robes to assist heal since they rarely attack mobs anyways. =\
Also get a real Immortal Heavy set since it is so cheap. You might have a chance of getting an unbound piece and then you would be able to sell or trade it. The armor pieces from the diplomas is not tradeable and cannot be unbound.

Yeah I doubt the 400 P Atk will make the difference so I'd rather get Knight's Harmony.

This is another question I meant to ask but I completely forgot.

Thanks for the info.
No... Soul Cry = 400 patk - you learn refreshing sonata and lose this.
Soul Guard = 700 P.def which on my character is about 20-30% dmg reduction - You lose this by learning Knights Harmony
LOL read my post next time please :)

Ah okay, that makes more sense. I'll still replace it, just not at first.
yeah, it's selfish to keep soul guard since it's an extra 700ish p.def that only affects yourself. but it's great to have, and especially good because it helps your survivability, and stacks with harmonies.
so you can do wizards, or knights(if cast from a third party, oly or another enchanter) or warriors and have that extra p.def stacked on top of the others.
but people do complain a lot.
especially knights and healers.
the majority of pvp damage dealers are nukers at the moment.
so i often use wizards harmony+soul rather than knights harmony.
sucks to watch a healer go down to a dagger though.
Alternatively.
i have considered it, and i was discussing it a few days back.
but knights harmony has some good shield defense bonuses.
so perhaps having a sword/blunt and a shield would be a good option for an enchanter.
it seems to be slightly stronger than chain heal.
but it also doesn't take ore to cast.
it's good when you are not in a group of 10 healed "allies"
if you are in a group, the healing will be reduced a lot.
if you are alone, or with only a few "allies" the healing is much stronger.
so don't expect it to save anyone's life.
but keep it on reserve for yourself, and solo targets.
also if healer is stunned, yolked, or otherwise unable to heal themselves.
because the healer is not usually surrounded by a lot of allies.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Btw why Heavy armor and not Light? Doesn't Light give an MP bonus?
Light armor looks nice.
i keep a set in my inventory so i can have the mp recovery when not in combat...
but for combat i either use heavy, or robes.
robes is for when you're fighting a mage class.
heavy for physical dds.
it makes a difference.
just wish they put some more thought into the three types.
if light had an attack bonus, or heavy a crit reduction bonus, robes a casting speed, or even m.def bonus.
Bonus as mp regen in light is kinda ********. Tested it on my enchanter. As DE im gettin like 3 mp per tick more. I vote for using hvy set+health duals+knight harmony. It rock on pve and pvp also.
About keeping skills from 3rd? i dont really think that any of em is usefull now... at least not for elfs and d.elfs
