So my gf gets on her toon yesterday and decides to get some ncoin. She logs into her master account and adds a credit card to buy the coin. She was denied of the coin (something to do with monthy limits blah blah blah. even though she hadnt had that card on the account). umm ok? She gets a phone call approx. 4-5 hours later from her card company. "Hey, some Iraqian based company used your card to buy $1800.00 worth of software." Really? Needless to say. We installed new firewalls and changed all passwords AGAIN. NCwest you gotta be kidding me right?

U should add that question at "Iraqian based company" forum not there. I were using credit cards and never had such a problems. Also i never heard someone else got. Anyway u should have possibility to turn back the payment.

Just to clarify, that card she used was never used online for anything other than the one time for the coin, and the fraudulant transaction never went through because it was a suspect transaction her card company caught and denied payment.
did you stop and think and that *maybe* the reason she couldn't buy the coins in the first place was cause the card had been flagged by your bank hence the transaction was denied?
1. you maybe got some keyloggers in your system. When you type your CC details ANYWHERE, even in notepad or whatever, they are being logged and send to the thief.
or
2. you have visited a physing web page and not actual NC web page.

It has nothing to do it with the fact you were purchasing something from NC soft, ant it was just coincidence that they robbed your CC few minutes/hours before you tried to purchase something from NC and your CC got auto-blocked by its issuer.

Happened to me in October. It can happen anywhere online. My bank manager said his itunes account got compromised and his account was charged a couple grand. In any case it's fraud and they are insured. I filled out some papers and the problem resolved itself in a few weeks. It's no big deal, you get new cards and it's over.
I had that problem while ago, some australian jerks tried to get a plane ticket on my visa. Now I've got myself prepaid visa card for online purchases. Just put enough money to buy something right away and you don't have to care if they steal your number.

The bank doesn't even argue it with you...well they shouldn't anyways. They look at your account and they can see where the charges originated and especially if it's out of state or country. That makes it out of your normal spending area. I'm from the united states so if someone used my bank card in Tasmania it'd be pretty obvious that was a bogus charge :D

There's a new version of the Zeus Trojan making the rounds along with a couple other trojans designed to steal online banking information. I suggest you look into it and get some serious cleaning done on any system you use.
