USD (United States Dollars) becomes the sole method of payment accepted by NCsoft West for Lineage II products, including NCoin items.
Do not fret! All players should be able to continue to buy NCoin with the same payment method have they used in the past and with no interruption in service. Now, all NCoin items are only priced in USD, and the VAT (Value-Added Tax) is added onto the price of the item or bundle at the time of purchase. VAT rates are specific to the country that the user originates from. Please check with your financial institution for details.
I see what you did there... Good idea! Now people can't get mad at you for thinking you were charging them extra. Now they just need to pay for exchange rate fees xD
I found this very ironic for they are making the time zone pretty much Euro with a vote system that is flawed because it's not in-game and on a forum where 10-20 percent of the population actually read and anyone can exploit the vote system by making accounts..

Since dollar is cheaper than euro I'm happy. I wish all mmos allowed how we want to pay. I'm forced to use euro everywhere and it's not funny when it's so expensive (I'm not earning my salary in euros so it's very painful for me).
For me this is a good decision because the price of coins in euro was always higher than the price in usd.
As my income is in a 3rd currency i have always lost some % on conversion so no change there.
People from euro zone countries however will gain some disadvantage (lets feed the banks, they arent fat enough yet :p)
What I dont understand is why I have to pay my own country's VAT (which i think is 2x-3x higher than sales taxes in the USA....) when the "product" i buy is technically located in Texas, USA....

They're making the times more manageable for the collective population, they're not turning it into 'pretty much Euro' (Whatever the hell that means).
Why would you go strictly us dollars? And yet your gonna make all servers euro time? Why not go all euro money instead thats the direction you seem to want to go in.

Probably because the company is located in the US. And they, like everyone else are probably being charged some fee to exchange to the correct currency. So they are offloading that exchange rate to the players instead of having to pay it themselves instead. Makes good business sense to me.
Plus they sold the European rights to Innova. While I guess they can change the time zones to different times without problem, I am guessing charging Euros might prove they are still catering to the European crowd.

Even adding taxes (15% for Luxembourgh most likely), the USD rates will be much lower than the EUR rates used up to now. I think NCSoft finally has seen where the money is and will most likely sell more NCcoins now than in the past to EU players.
Those who think they are not paying as much need to look at it again. You will be paying the same amount more or less because the Increase in price that you had before was the VAT that you were paying. Now you will still be paying it, but it will be a hidden charge. Basically you are paying for exchange rates for USD and you are paying for the VAT charges as well... Basically they have moved from saying like 20$ all inclusive to 15 Dollars.... plus 5 dollars when you make the purchase. xD

Broke GR and Russians? Probably not where their source of income is coming from, just sayin ;).
PS- That's not to say that all Greeks and Russians refrain from buying stuff, but I'm willing to bet my left nut that if they did a break down of %of total players from an area and compared to % of money spent they would see that their money comes from elsewhere.

I experienced a bug when I bought some mins ago on my another account 1200 NCoin.
I did read, read about this topic so I was happy I can shopping for Dollar. But when I bought NCoin the prices was listed in Euro. At first I bought 800 NCoins at this time I just saw every price in Euro.
After when I bough still 400 NCoin first the prices was showed in Dollar it was write 400 NCoins = 5 Dollar. But when I payed out there was write 400 NCoins = 4,8 Euro.
Can someone explain now to me, that I did shopping in Dollar or Euro now? Or why do I see Euro prices if here was write, that we able shopping from now only for Dollar?
For those of you like me that bought Paysafe cards and can not use them to buy NCoins i found a way, you can buy game time cards with your paysafecards and use those to get NCoins , i just did it and i have my coins .
I also use Paysafecards in the NCstore, almost bought new ones but I read your replies that we can use them anymore :eek:.
There is another method that works like paysafcard it's from VISA. You willget vouchers like paysafe has but then provided bij VISA. It works like a normal creditcard for online payments.
