I hope there's going to be free transfers off all 4 servers to Bartz then because a lot of us aren't willing to lose out on the content of sieges, tw's, and oly.
To those that will say EU's have dealt with this forever, to an extent. Yes, Naia wasn't around from day one but there have been opportunities to go there, or start there for new EU players. But this isn't about that.
I just want to know what/if NC is planning on doing because going from 4 NA servers to 1 NA server that, as far as I know, we can't transfer to. I'm not opposed to these servers becoming EU times I just want to be able to move to a server with NA times.

Chronos' server time isn't really going to EU time or NA time... it's more like SA time... like... Brazil... if you want to choose a server now I'd suggest waiting a week to find out what server time would work best for you. Though.. If a seige time of 10am and 12pm work for you than chronos would be good even though it isn't your time. So yah just wait and then pick lol

TW is getting deleted with the next update, but yeah I agree, I play on chronos and shilen and I'll be ****ed if I stay on either of those servers.

Ah I didn't know that TW's were getting deleted. Either way that still leaves Oly and sieges that many of us wont be able to do.
Currently Oly starts at roughly 6pm my time on Chronos. If it changes, along with the other servers, to what the current voting looks like it starts at noon. That completely takes out my favorite aspect of the game. Although I don't do well in Oly I love it.
I'm hoping that NC releases some info about this because it's going to hurt a pretty substantial portion of their population to have 4 of the servers times go forward by that many hours.
Yeah I agree here, they better be creating a server to transfer to. Note I said transfer to. I know alot of people say suck it up like the Euro's have been doing for years. But the Europeans always had a server or a few servers to transfer to. They just chose not to, for this reason or that. Which was their choice. So they lived with it. All we are asking for is a possible server to transfer to. We will all then have to decide if its worth losing everything and transferring or staying and living with it. If you offer a choice, then you can legitly tell all the whining North American players (like myself) to suck it up and live with it if we choose to stay.
I yelled about this in a different thread, and asked if Bartz was being opened to transfer. The reply I got back was that they were still working on plans lol.
Actually I read somewhere, maybe on the Facebook threads that after the Magmeld transfers are complete, they will be working on opening the "Pay to transfer" services LMAO. Great way to make money, change the server times on everyone, then charge them $50 to move to a server with their old server time.
I'm considering a new game to be honest. Lineage 2 is a great game but the community has fallen greatly both in skill and intelligence and from the looks of it so has the staff. I'm not really sure if the service is just that faulty or they are purposely trying to drive people away? Which is terrible considering upcomming, awaited MMO releases.

By putting this to a vote, ncsoft is conveniently abdicating all responsibility for a decision they want to make for monetary gain. They will experience further gains by selling transfers to people who now feel compelled to move to a server that caters to their time zone. This is immoral.
Ncsoft specifically sold the Lineage distribution rights to europe to innova, they should not be changing server times to anything resembling european times regardless of how many greek or russian players come here for a free ride.
The opinions or voting habbits of our playerbase have always been irrelevant in the past, why do they suddenly matter now? Because it is a convenient way to circumnavigate their own contractual obligations and serve a region they have no business serving. They can claim this is an international service all they want, but the servers are specifically located in the americas and are staffed exclusively by english speakers and they do not have the rights or licenses to serve anywhere else. Each region in korea is broken down into it's own regional department, as was SEA and now europe. But to make a few dollars, ncwest will pretend they can and will provide support to the rest of the world? Ridiculous, there is no piece of the world left other than their home region.

Yea, plans change however, and I hope they will.
Even though this is the last transfer period for Magmeld, it's poor timing both for players wanting to transfer, and those that are hesitating to do so.
The voting period ends tomorrow on January 26th, so if Magmeld magically becomes NA time I think you're going to have quite a few people actually trying to transfer over there to get on a server with their time zone. This could block out quite a few people that want to go there if that happened, but it wont.
I'm hoping that they realized that all but one of their servers completely changing time zones is simply unacceptable and take appropriate actions in maintaining a US server that we can transfer to for free.
As it stands all 4 servers have optimal European times with sieges finally at night for them, while for the US population, we need to be up before noon.

If this was about a majority they would incorporate this vote with an NPC in the game and make it IP based. So no life cry baby euros could not skew the vote making 10000000 lvl 20 toons.

I am on US TIME (EST) and to be honest I can never play TW..... I like to go out on saturdays, but since the server time is PST, TW start a 9pm and finish at 11 pm. 11 pm is too late to go out, and 9 pm is to early to get back........
As far a sieges go, pretty much the same thing, I have to get up early to get to work on monday, and I am out playing until midnight on a sunday......
On the other hand, moving the times towards the left (making them earlier) can accomodat more people. What do you think would grab more people, an event that takes place at noon, or an event that takes place at 5 am??
In general its obvious that PST times are doomed, only people in western US would vote for them whereas, EST / Southamericans / EU players would ALL vote for earlier times.... therefore you have 3 different time zones trying to push the hours earlier.....

Huh? If we're talking east cost US then the current server time is only 1 hour behind us, but the new time will be a 4 hour change.
So first siege for me right now is 1700 and under the new time it will be 1300. Tbh, it's not even an awful time for me personally, but it's not great either because it's smack in the middle of the day. It would have been fine for them to change one or more of the new servers for Euro time, but to make 4/5 of them Euro was a bit much.
The times will be further away. Lets for starts minus the fact that you can't attend TW's. Why? Because they're apparently removing them in the next patch.
We now have sieges that are 4 hours earlier for people on the east coast, and much much earlier for those further west.
I wouldn't mind the sieges changing, but I would seriously hate the oly times. There isn't enough time as it is to run oly, now factor in that it is actually going to be TONS earlier for the population that NC Soft is supposed to be supplying this game to.

It still not an euro time. I play with a lot of southamericans. They do not have daylight saving over there, so this half of the year, south american time (in general) its EST + 2. the late siege finishes at 1 am on a sunday......
Either way, it is obvious that the time is going to move that way. It is a lot easier to play at noon on a sunday, vs playing at 1 am on a sunday (for south america) or playing at 2 am + for europe.....

I tend to play early days and late nights here and can honestly say Ive met more CANADIANS than I have americans. And definitely many many more europeans.

As I said, it's not a matter of the servers being EURO times its a matter of many of us signing up to play on a US server. I understand there were no Euro servers back when many Europeans started so they were forced to play NA Servers but now changing all the servers to Euro times is just unacceptable.
I'd agree that more of the servers need to be Euro time to help support the large amount of them in game, but to leave not a single NA server available is ridiculous.
Its all academic really untill we know what the server times will actually be.
My problem is that whoever it doesnt suit timewise will be screwed over.
The problem with any of us changing servers after all these years is the items as well as the friends we will lose by doing so....
