Na really it just shows the mentality of people if its not 95% for them screw everyone else really. Bartz is suppose to be the pride of LineageII and quite honestly with what I've seen its not even close.

Instead of getting 86 and moving on asap like you should, you'll be in your 60s for a week and your 70s for another 2.

To see someone actually give a rats *** about anyone but them-self would be a good start. There are a select few I have found that have helped someone else of their own free will, but that's close to none. Another point of posting is I don't really see how NCSoft can call Bartz "Pride of LineageII" when I really don't see pride in the server just greed. Some people have made valid points on the post and others just to troll. However, I'm moving straight along without mentor but a mentor slot wouldn't be frowned upon. I'm just not going to pay 50-75kk for a fracking slot. You can think I'm a winy brat if you want, which really won't get anyone anywhere. I know I'm not a whiny brat so have a good one. Unfortunatly its what the market goes for, I mean if people were not willing to pay that much the mentors would not be able to charge that much.
seems to be nothing but a drama factory too, every day i see someone shouting about getting ripped off or scammed by a mentor or mentee.
Other sad thing I see is it means people are forced to puchase Adena off 3rd party sites to pay for a mentor slot as no "normal" level 60 has 50-75 million on the bank.
Personaly im happy chugging along with no mentor, I am not a racer to get to 99 before anyone else as long as I am having fun playing L2 I will keep grinding away!

If you have an awakened group ASK THEM TO MENTOR YOU.
First question. Where did you hear Bartz was the "pride of Lineage 2??? Maybe the original Bartz server. The Bartz server you are on is just the newest server "Read its only a few months old, there aren't piles of Mentors yet so unlike the other servers the amount of people looking for mentors is greater then the amount of mentor spots available.
Second, if you are partying with a group of friends, and they don't have mentors, you probably should just hold off on getting a mentor anyways, or you will outlevel them shortly and you won't be able to play with them anymore. What's the point in that?
Lastly, if you want a Mentor the Free way, the idea is to make a few higher level friends or join a clan with some awakened toons. You are upset that people you don't know aren't bending over backwards to help you when you aren't going out of the way to get to know them, and they probably either have friends lined up, or people lined up offering millions in adena.
Also the other problem mentioned, sure the bonuses are both ways, but only the Mentor has a 7 day penalty if your Mentee skips and leaves, or if they stop playing and you need to boot them. The adena payment is actually more self-caused by Mentees jumping their Mentor when they log in and their Mentor isn't logged in, so they move to someone that is on at the time, so they can keep their Mentor buffs.

This issue of mentors charging for their slots comes from mentees that would serial hop from one mentor to another, leaving them with 7 day penalties. Now people are a lot less likely to leave if they have to keep paying.
the mentor system was made to be advantage for both new players and vets.
but there are those who just like to take an advantage of the free system and turn it into profit.. *sounds familiar*
but there are mentors out there who play the game for fun factor and mentor for free as the way the system was meant to be used.
its just people, and everyones different, there are those who are greedy and looking for shortcuts by taking advantages
and then there are those who are less greedy, and just play it the way it was meant to be played
people will be people,

People dont mentor for free because of the penalty,its simple as that,mentor slot prices are as low as 10kk right now in Bartz.There are free mentors or people friendly enough to do it if you talk with them a bit.
I can see where youre coming from, but to be honest getting a mentor isnt very difficult. Alot will mentor for 5-15kk, which you should already have the majority of at lvl 50some, and the rest you can get by making a dwarf and selling shots or making lvl 20s and getting the 2mil off of each one. Or make some friends and join a clan with high lvl char, all up to you. But whining about not getting a mentor on forums wont help
I am level 77 (almost 78) now and Have a mentor... (hes never on and I payed out the *** for it) but I do have one none-the-less. From the time I get to play its a good amount of progress I suppose. With the Harmony Update hopefully it will make a difference.

It's does truly suck when this is exactly the case for many new players I'm glad I was able to find awesome people on this server that helped me out by paying for me for my slot. But in my nature I had to pay back I dont like getting handouts but they wouldn't take it.. Point of my story is that, there is some decent people in L2 just have to find out who they are, Im glad to find the group Im playing with if you want I could try to help as much as I can!

So I left him with a 7 day penalty small price to pay for stealing all the money my friend helped me with... I will eventually pay him back if he lets me. what is 1kk? is that a million adena? would 100kk be 100,000,000 adena?
I want a mentor but I'm don't play 12 hours a day. Would I be better off just paying for a mentor? I don't need somebody to level me. I just want the **** 200% bonus and I'm happy with that.
That because, if mentee leaves mentor, the mentor get 7 days penalty which doesn't allowe them to recruit any mentee for whole 1 week. That's why they ask for adena, as it ould be a protective move against to all ******s who may leave their mentors.

Check the dates of the posts. Its called supply and demand. Back when this post was relevant there were not as many mentee spots available, so people could charge for them. Now I see awakened players begging for mentees.

I haven't read all the replies but you wanna know why people charge? Because a lot of mentees switch mentors faster than you can imagined. Mentors helped them by staying online for them and some even help to buff them with extra buffs but all mentors get is a small amount of mentee coins and before the mentee even awaken, they leave and change to another mentor if his current mentor happens to be offline or afk. So much for helping people?
i find it's best to try and focus on your own play time and find a mentor who is on around those times.
a lot of the players who sell slots might be 24/7 mentors, but they're usually not the helpful types until you hit level 80+ when they Plevel you for points.
