I haven't been able to get in the game all day due to server traffic.
As if the events rewarding folks for staying logged in weren't dumb enough, along with the mentor system... we now have what I'm told is "super boxing". The other day I'm on my subclass and I'm watching 6-7 chars on auto follow with variations of the same name. Dude flat out admits what he is doing... yea, thats gotta be great on server traffic.
Back in the old days I was in this clan that made us create new characters with "Stash" in our nicknames and we could only be Dark Elves. We ran around and did everything together, those were the days.
Running around doing things together.. uhm, pretty sure thats just playing the game as intended (who gives a crap about whether people name their toons similar).
Quite a big difference between that and 1 person on 7-8 accounts with toons just AF the char. Do I need to upload the fraps too?
I have in the past reported a problem with their website, and even gave them the *exact* solution to the problem... It still took them 3 months to fix.
Translation of content, those should be done by a real translator... get a college student to do it for cheap <_< Anyway some of the translations look like google translations... maybe that's why it takes so long... cos they just sent everything through google translate, then looked through all of the badly translated text and forced back into proper English...
Events... NCKorea does all of it... well translation I guess <_<
Character services... all done using scripts....
Marketing... What marketing? I haven't seen or heard of a single L2 NA promo or advert in the past 5+ years... at least in the beginning there were ads on magazines and articles online... Look at L2 China... They frigging partnered with COCA COLA, and for a month all the cans had L2 advertising on it... I don't need to tell you how much more effort Korea puts into marketing.
So what does that leave?
GM work... ok... I *know* many of the GMs are not native english speakers, from conversations ingame and out of game... Unlike Sace and the other publicly known NCSoft staff. So they outsourced GM work...
Ban-related work... woohoo banning 1000bots once every 2-3 months is soooooooooo time consuming..../sarcasm
