Server Time Changes on February 8
Remember, the server time zone settings for Chronos, Shilen, and Magmeld will change on February 8, 2012, to their voted-on new server times (http://www.lineage2.com/en/news/community/server-time-poll-results.php). (Naia's time was voted to remain the same.) Therefore, Castle Sieges and Territory Wars on Naia and Magmeld this weekend will be held at their regular time.
as usual, main problem is mainly a cost solution. let's say we are 30 000 players (not account) buying for 10$ a month .... it's only 300k to pay for
- server maintenance/new server
- people working on translation, support, IG/Web store, ...
- licence to NC Korea ?
- all non productive cost
would people accept a 24h down to have a new server (GMT-6) and everyone transfered where they want with full account ?
could be a good poll. in my case i think that partial solutions like today give more work, upset customers, and may be stress for people working at NC West
3 months, and still no account services. Many free transfers, but noone is checking old database to process old transfers, with applied code. :( I wait every maintenance, to read something like: "Old account services will be processed, in preparation, for new account services, which will be starting xx.xx.2012."

I'm waiting for transfer more like 2 months, and there are people, who waiting 3 months+. Some of them quit the game. Calm down.
i know this. I wanted to move to naia in December but didnt pay attention to the closing down of account service 1 month prior to GoD.
Now we all decided to go to Magmeld but im guessing this will be screwed up also.
But i feel sorry for you that waited alot longer. Just that now they said ALL transferes will be done after this maintenance and all of a sudden they change it.
If everyone was thinking like you then it's your fault actually because you and everyone like you decided to apply for transfer on the last week. So probably they didn't predict the amount of ppl applying on the last week.

Me and 2 friends was moving from chronos to naia for better times (europlayers) and my 2 friends did it and i was about to do it the week after. But then with 1 day notice they closed account service down so i was stuck on chronos and my 2 friends was on naia.
So now i moved my 2 toons on the same time so i would not have 1 toon stuck on a server like last time and if ncfail cant handle it they shouldnt say ALL transferes will be done by Feb 1.
I hope you fix the bug with the quest npc not being able to talk to in cruma tower entrance, the bug with the ivory tower guardians in cruma tower 1st floor being too high and the 46 kamaloka killing the boss doesn't give you the quest item. You just have to fix all these!

The maintenance note simply implies that the server times poll results (the poll being about Chronos, Naia, Shilen, and Magmeld) will be implemented on February 8, but it is correct that Naia remains at GMT+1. I'll edit the notice to clarify that.

they didnt.
They had announced on Facebook that they transferred only a batch of requests and the next batches would be processed in future scheduled maintenances, without time limits, until all the requests have been cleared.
So, all my friends got transfer except one. So now, he is alone in Naia cuz ncsoft cant do a good transfer?
Most of the chars ("the high population moving") are lvl 40 just for gear. So my friend that wanted to transfer his main (lvl 87) have to stay one week alone? ...
And the worst thing is, he applied for the transfer before the 25 of january. So its been 2 maintenances that ncsoft didnt transfer him, and y, he keep in waiting list, nothing in AH, nothing in Mail, nothing nothing. And btw, my friend plays since teon started.
The economy impact is already seen, I still don't know if will make stuff cheaper or expensive, the overflow of Top high end gear is overwelming. I still don't know what was the prodecure but what I can imagine is that many ppl transfer a toon full of theit gear and anotehr toon with good stuff to sell to recover from what they wasen't allowed to bring with them.
Also I suspect of many magmenld ppl buying/trading stuff from the other servers ppl and this transfers were the mean to deliver those goods.
BTW 5.5 hours of maintenance and servers are still down.

To keep server maintenance time reasonable, a large but limited amount of Magmeld Server Transfers will be processed. Characters still queued for transfer who are not processed with the February 1 maintenance will be processed in future weekly maintenances. After having on the homepage _ALL_ transfers will be done this maintenance now they take this **** out.
I sold a bunch of stuff dirt cheap just to get some extra adena instead of losing the items....
Im pretty sure alot of players did the same.

Well, 21 days of lag and without soulshots are really trully compensated by one week of no death penality and free gatekeeper + 5 cocktais + 1 rune 50% 5 hours.
The strange in this lag is spezzion exploit, lag, no shots, server full and boss defeated.
There are currently no updates to share on what server transfer options (to and from other servers) will be available in the future, but once they are decided they will be announced.

It is possible that customized maintenances may occur in the future, but the point if trying to keep a regular maintenance time frame is because server downtime affects all players on those servers, not only the players that are transferring.

yes but the main idea of transfer was to make a bit light the Naia server. So, if you guys transfer all the accounts that had to, it would benefit the players that transfer, and the ones that cant login :).

We certainly do not expect the backlogged queued transfers to take up to 3 months from now to process, so please don't imply that. Currently we expect to have processed all remaining queued transfers in the next 2 or 3 weekly maintenances, however please note that no exact time frame was quoted because we cannot predict unexpected events that may occur. It is our goal to process all the queued transfers as soon as possible while keeping regular maintenance time frames on all servers.

do i have to EMPTY my warehouse? or will it be cleaned automatically?
do i have to DELETE my mentees? or will it be deleted automatically?
do the spaceholder toons on magmeld have to be the same race and such? or does it not matter cuz they will be replaced completely?

your unlucky. u dont have to empty wh, delete mente and the toon on magmeld dont have to be any specific race. you can have a elven mysten even if ur main is an orc tyrr warrior.

All you have to do to prepare your character is listed on the transfer details page. Nothing more, nothing less. And Juji posted in the transfers thread how you can check to see if you're still queued, and according to that determine if you failed or not.

I'm afraid not. :( I'm only referring to the Magmeld free transfers. The ones in your situation are in a different part of the system, but as I suggested in PM, keep that ticket/topic alive.
I'm one of the people that have been waiting for transfer for two maintenances now. It's frustrating because most of my friends have moved over, and I have other friends that rolled on Magmeld waiting for me to mentor them.
I understand that there are time limitations and I will wait, I'm just worried there might be an error or something when you guys finally get to me.
I've done everything I can think of to follow the guidelines, but if something does go wrong, will I still get another chance?

Another 2-3 weeks? If you were not awakened, it would have been faster to just restart on Magmeld! Depending on number of chars involved, of course. And people are meant to do what in the mean time? Buy consumables for 4 days play and then spend 2 days selling leftovers again because they don't transfer? Level up, knowing that if they get anything decent drop they'll lose it (or something else they wanted to keep) because they can't risk auctioning it, and don't have an equipment slot to carry it across in? Be unable to mentor, because coins won't transfer, and their rewards won't transfer - and a mentee levelling just before maint can sabotage the transfer process for you - which is now irrepairable?
Spend 3 weeks essentially unable to play their main at all after several weeks unable to log in, because of the transfer restrictions and required preparation for a chance of a successful migration?

I vendored a lot of my items that I could've sold for more because I didn't think I had time to auction them. Now it turns out I did.
This might not seem like a big deal but it's very frustrating when you're trying to save up for better gear and stay relevant. 1 week of this half-existence is already a long time; in my case it will be 3 weeks IF I'm lucky next maintenance..
I agree with other comments that say this could've been handled in a more transparent manner. If I knew I wouldn't be transferred until next week (or later) I would've made different decisions.

sace I see one problem: nc is limiting the purchases from the L2 store to $100 a month. Those of us who want to buy more cant.
the main problem is that those that wanna spend more catch GTC and transform them into NC Coins.
And most of these GTC are purchased from RMT sellers.
Just imagine how much money NC lost with all the ppl getting +15 R grade weapons.
100$ or maybe 300$ via several accounts from NC and the rest of the big budget via GTC mostly from RMT sellers.

The only issue there is with a random transfer is that most people who are waiting for the transfer wouldn't know it was going to happen. I'm guessing that it would piss off a lot of people who had items in their inventory that they didn't sell. If they want to to a random Maintenance id say let people know a day or two in advance to let people get ready.
I agree however that it would fix very easily if they just did an hour maintenance in the morning (on naia) when most the server is offline anyway.
