Fake bot reporting ?

What is wrong with people? I was xping last night in swamp, trying to get 86 on my alt and some ppl who previously flagged and got owned started threatening that they will report me and calling me a bot because I ksed them in the spot where I was before them, go figure. Then other idiots came from a known clan and when all pvp was done he pmed me and said, you have 6 new reports, expect news from GM or something like that. WTF?

How can GMs know if a report is legit or not? Ppl just use the report button when they are butt hurt now?
gms dont ban bots.
you have nothing to worry about.
it takes over 9000 reports in a day before you get any action.

also...
if someone says something about you that is not true, you can just ignore them, and try to continue without letting them get to you.

bot reporting can lead to action, but it takes time, and i doubt you will have to worry.
Being worried about botreports is just so LOL :D

A GM will always check if the person is botting before banning, if you never bot you have nothing to be worried about...

A GM will rarely ban a bot, if you bot you have little to be worried about...

I wouldn't worry about it. for years now, people have called others players bots, for years.

only two days ago I was called a bot by some moron in the swamplands because I killed the mob he was running towards.. go figure that out.

All I do i just lol at them, and carry on my business.

"No matter how idiot proof you make something, they will still log into Lineage 2"
:)
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I'ts nothing that I'm worried about I just find it pathetic to call someone a bot and try to threaten him with bot reporting just because they're butt hurt. It's so low. I usually just ignore ppl but then they will make a movie of you because they can't kill as fast as you, thus ur a bot . (TROLOROFL)

But still i think there should be concequences for players who don't use the bot report button legimately. For example, you report person A today, person B, C, D the other days and if a GM checks them up and sees you have been reporting a descent amount of players that doesn't seem to be botting you get a warning and maybe a chat ban for like a week so you can chill down and relax a little. xD
i pmed one of the gms a link with a video of bots and got answerd they dont listen to that and they only ban bots if they dont pass the gm test that they never do
The false report punishment is a private server system.
You know..Unedited images with target etc etc.

Here they don't even ban bots so why would they even bother with false report.
The general feeling is that NCsoft does not care the BOTs
and have fallen short when buying server hardware
Dont be worried, this happens often. Once when I was still only lvl 72 prophet and was exping around Goddard I met guy who was KSing my mobs. When I told him to stop he just said "QQ" so I attacked him. He was dagger and tried unsuccesfully to backstab me and failed, I rooted him and almost ***** (in the end he managed to run to town). After that he called me cheater and said that I had anti-backstab **** and root cheat (whatever that was supposed to be) and he will report me to GM. Ofc nothing will ever happen in such cases. All you need to do is ignore such 1diots.

You just described the kind of people I'm talking about. From now on, I swear to god, i'm never answering to anyone unless someone uses private chat to talk to me and talks nicely. It's not that I wanna be a ****, it's that they are mental.

Even on forum ppl are suspicious about everything. Our community, **** I gotta love it. Everyone gotta be the bad guy and someone is here to judge. Feel free. Yes I was botting, also this is an automated message and I should be banned from forum. (Ironic)

And anyway, characters from the same clan/alliance cannot report the same character if someone of them has already done it.
There is some mixed information in replies so far, so I'd like to clarify what is true and what is false.

False:

True:

Being reported for botting only means the reported character is added to a list of characters that the GMs check for botting. It does not matter how many times a character is reported-- a character is only banned if they are caught cheating (or break other EULA rules). If you aren't cheating, you have nothing to worry about. For the record, bots are being banned; the current population is high right now so it is difficult to see the results, but it is happening and it is expected to improve. If you are not cheating but you are being harassed by players who keep reporting you to try to ban you, you needn't worry about the reports, but you can petition GMs to report the harassment you are receiving from the other player(s).

Ok so how come when players repeatedly report bots they are still there after a week? And the petition is always unavailable so that pretty much makes it impossible to report harassment and if someone DOES manage to report harassment..guess what it's a "pvp issue" automated message.

WoW,long time to see you speaking about bots honest.

Since u open the pandora box,can you explain why all bots i report continuosly for months now are still in game continue to boting?

False:

The Petition Service is currently unavailable and hasn't been since I returned and I've had many issues worth reporting from NPCs inside walls or falling through the floor to obvious exploitation. Trouble tickets get immediate replies, but for example it has been a week a gm has escalated my ticket to the Lineage II senior staff members with no further response since so reporting bad use or troubles of any kind has been absolutely discouraged.

I'm glad that you're banning bots but please don't tell people to use the petition if it is rarely -if ever- turned on.

False. I reported an issue I had in-game via the Petition System and it worked fine for me. I even got an email confirmation, and less than 3 days later it was resolved. So please, don't comment on something you don't know about.

To anyone reading this message feel free to test petitions ingame yourself.

Dude it works but not 24/7 like before, you are just reporting at the wrong time that's all.

With the successful launch of Goddess of Destruction there has been a massive increase in support tickets for various issues, so massive that players have had to experience a much longer than normal wait time for a response to their ticket. For this we sincerely apologize. To help the support team get responses out to all tickets currently backlogged, the in-game petition client will temporarily be available only between the hours of 18:00 and midnight (server time) each day, beginning on December 21, 2011.

At all times, players can still contact customer support (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/) through the website. As soon we’re caught up with the tickets we will re-open the in-game petition client service to all hours. Thank you for your patience while we work towards providing an improved customer experience.

As posted by another player already, the in-game petition service is indeed currently operational during certain hours only. But at all times, the website support form (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/) is available.

Also, when you send a petition reporting bots, the names are collected, but you are not guaranteed to get replies from GMs telling you that the accused players were indeed bots, or were indeed banned. Bans are confidential account matters and they are not shared with the public. If your bot-report ticketing experience doesn't match this explanation, please do share an example one with me by PM'ing me the ticket number so I can see what you're referring to more precisely.

As to the questions raised about why some reports are sent but nothing seems to happen, again, the number of reports sent in or when they were sent in does not necessarily correlate with or guarantee a ban on the accused characters. I'm afraid I cannot say more about this, as our methods must remain confidential. To keep this thread from getting out of hand, I'm locking it, now that the main topic has been addressed.
