Summoner Dye and gear

Wynn Summoner Started Last reply 56 posts
Hello im leveling Phantom summoner (lvl 61 now).I have some questions:
What dye set is the best for leveling?
and
What gear is the best for leveling? Robe + m. weapon or light+bow or something else?
anybody?/
For not awakened: + 4 wit -men / +4 int - men / +4 con -dex

Gear: the robe from the path and the mystic weapon, when you get 83 you can use bow for servitor share, unless you are doing dino quest.
Dyes doesnt matter cuz at 85 u lose it anyways as for gear to lvl, if ur planning to nuke along with ur pet then robe + acumen, if u are gonna melee along with ur pet then light + bow

Not when ur pet is the one killing, unless ur 83 it doesnt matter, but even at 83, why spend on dyes that would only last u 2 more lvls? o.O just saying, i would rather use that money to buy awaken dyes than to buy dyes that goes away in 2 lvls

They matter.

THe summoner does things too.

Jeeze.

Awakening Dies are probably hundreds of millions of adena in the end.

C grade dies are like 10 million total if you shop around.

It's idiotic to gimp yourself for 40-85 just so you can save pennies on Awakening Dies.

Now every buffoon who jumped on this game when it became free thinks they know everything about it.
ur entitle to ur opinion, everyone has their own way of building a character, calling ppl a buffoon just because they don't agree on ur opinion clearly makes u the buffoon

It's idiotic to suggest to a new player to waste 10+mil on VERY minor stat boosts when they should be levelling and saving money for gear. Especially when the player is a summoner. Remember stat boosts are smaller now since they changed how stats work, +8 is like what +4 used to be.

Don't bother with dyes, use the free gear and get to 85 asap, save as much as you can on the way. 40-85 is so fast it's really not worth blowing the money on dyes for. Use free nuker robes and a free nuker weapon and kill with deathspike for PS I believe.
40 - 85 just use Robe and Mystic Weapon, support your pet with your spells and don't spend money on dyes, you can use the money later on.

The money you spend, isn't worth the stat boost, rather tag a second account along and level a WC and turn him into a Iss later.

At 85 I recommend Leather Armor + Bow, now matter if you use Reapers or Cougars and the dye set up depends on what you prefer more, PvE or PvP, + Con if you PvP more and + Str if you PvE more.

If you really wanna do 100 spell dmg more and 70~ dmg more on your pet, then spend 10mil for all your dyes.
ur entitle to ur opinion, everyone has their own way of building a character, calling ppl a buffoon just because they don't agree on ur opinion clearly makes u the buffoon

Paradox detected.
At 85 I recommend Leather Armor + Bow.

What's the benefit of using light over heavy?
What's the benefit of using light over heavy?Well the light passive give you +2INT more that mean more chance to land the marks + the pdef isn't much different with heavy because light mastery gives a pdef boost. I haven't confirmed if there is also lower casting with heavy.

For me, i use bow+light for pve. But in pvp robe + 2H blunt is the best option. An awaken summoner should use the marks and the retriever, not just sit and let summons do the dirty job in pvp.

I did some tests last night on my 85 wynn.

The +2 int comes with the skill, light armor or not and heavy doesn't have any casting penalty after awakening.

With +4 immo light bp/gaiter vs +3/+4 Immo hvy bp/gaiter and robe boot/glv/helm (bp/gaiter is all that's needed for passive bonuses). Heavy is about 6-7% more p.def (no set bonuses) than light and no other stats change. I imagine twilight and higher would see a bigger difference (only a fixed +104 orso p.def boost for light).

It might be better with light attack though for the 7% p.atk bonus, although Hvy attack might give the same and the set description is bugged (which would make sense).

As for the debuffs, I've still to test how m.atk affects landrate now but cast speed really doesn't affect marks/retriever/exile, 500 cast speed unbuffed/naked and they were still <1s cast.
Well if you want to get technical you can use +4/-5 Tats on a Summoner and all you're missing is 2 MEN, which is ignorable given you have Transfer Pain when you need it. Those are dirt cheap. There's literally no barrier to entry to tatting up a Mystic since the stats we decrease are so negligible that the Grocery Store is all we need to tat up, as opposed to melee toons who actually have to strike a balance with their tat setup.

Have fun soloing FoG on an EM missing 4-5 WIT, as well as some other challenging places. Have fun pulling trains of 20+ Raptors in Nest missing 4-5 WIT on a Summoner, especially a Dark Elf...

Not getting Tats at 40 is not intelligent, especially when it's so cheap to get them from the grocery store (not even 5M if you go that route) and they give such a boost to your character. You have enough Adena to get the WIT tat by the time you get to 40. Almost all 40 toons ding with like 1 mil or more adena in their inventory. Getting those tats will not make or break you upgrading any gear at 80/85 because all the gear worth getting costs significantly more than that.

You don't seriously plan on Attributing everything yourself, do you, when it's 75% cheaper to just buy the stuff already attributed... If you need help gearing up, that's what finding a good clan and being a good member is for.

I'd say at least a +4 WIT and CON tatoo is worth it to get. The INT tat is a bit more borderline, but you can always add on another CON since STR is useless to mystics and you can decrease that into the ground without much deficit since it's almost not even worth it to get the 81+ books since you Awaken at 85 anyways (and those levels are fast).

And those tats are not a very minor stat boost to a Summoner without Servitor Balance Life, Servitor Major Heals, Stat Sharing, and every Summoner buff for their pet. Not everyone wants to monotanously pull 1 mob at a time for 45 levels.

Yes they are minor stat boosts, I switched from HE and forgot to remove dyes so did 78-85 with +4 STR -4 CON and nothing else on my Elemental Master. Was Fine pulling 5-6 groups on dino and AOEing.

I agree with the +4 -5 though since they don't cost much, I've got those on my 82 STS and he AOE's FoG and Dino just fine.

Havent tested yet the armors but i am not going to mix heavy/light parts. I believe 5 piece bonus is better than 2 + 3 parts. And light enchanter give me great p attack boost for pve.

For the marks the problem wasnt the casting but the land rate. I tested on same mobs with bow(dynasty from path and requiem bound) and dynasty magic sword. The result was almost the same for landing for the bows , better for sword but the great difference was the retriever. I did greater dmg with magic sword retrieving one mark. It need more test when i get R magic weapon.
Dots are something new and need testing. In pve are useless(at least to me). The dmg output if ridiculous compared to summons. But i like to see attribute how effect them too and i consider them more vital for pvp than any other summoners skill.
- If you rly want dyes, get the +4 -5 dyes from grocery. Otherwise, don't bother. +4 -4 is a complete waste of money.
- Equips: pre-awakened = robe + mage weap; 85+ = light + bow (and preferably a 2h staff in case of pvp) or robe when vs mage. Do experiments and work out the best compromise for yourself.
- The dot land rate (for me) is just decent, considering the insane dmg you can do with Mark Retriever.

As for the debuffs, I've still to test how m.atk affects landrate now but cast speed really doesn't affect marks/retriever/exile, 500 cast speed unbuffed/naked and they were still <1s cast.
Isn't M.Accuracy affecting debuff land rate rather than M.Atk?

Yeah I've noticed the % p.atk boost for light but assumed the hea y attack +p.def would be a text bug and mean +p.atk. I mentioned it in my post. Just tested and it is actually +p.def on the heavy attack, not p.atk. :(

Your findings with mark retriever are intersting, personally Iv'e never tested it so assumed it'd just be a fixed amount.

Not sure, out on my Feoh I've often see mobs evade a nuke and still get the debuff.

Yes, the Dino MOBs are 1 shots so it's easier to manage if you don't get unfortunate stuns on the pet. If you do it's hard to outheal the Raptors.

In places like FoG unless you're doing small rooms/trivial pulls you need the WIT.

I camp two large rooms for chain pulls on EM and pull the entire room (and sometimes get some of the second room while they're respawning). It would not be possible without that WIT tatoo, and probably not without the amount of fire resist I have on my armor, either, + attributed weapon - but that's another discussion.

INT and CON isn't so important to a summoner (CON is useful for carrying capacity, though), but the WIT is very important.

I can confirm this is true.
I wouldnt put dyes, specialy as a summoner. It's money wasted.
I have been reading some posts and forum here. And I want to make sure. The equipement I have and my stats affect stats of my summon?

So if I will farm with light and bow. My summons will have more patk and pdef than while I wear robe + sword?

Yes. Summoners from lvl 83 get a skill "servitor share" that become more strong as awaken. It transfers 60% P attack P def, 30% M.attack M def, 30% critical rate, 10% attack speed, 3% casting speed and 15% Max Hp/Mp of summoner stats.

This is toggle/buff/passive skill ?

So generally every summoner should have 2 sets for each scenario

1st PVP + PVE with Coguars: Light + bow
2nd AOE PVE with Reapers: Robe + Magic weapon with acu.

I get it now, it was hard to find soultion in all this posts.

I took an immortal 2H staff and checked again. Observations. The dmg is effected by M attack. Its not a standard value, maybe it is effected by the duration till you retrieve the mark. Magic critical is possible and very often during testing. So you may do three magic crits at once.
Here some ss. First without buss, first bow then staff.
Second ss with M attack buffs.

30 min buff
Nice test.
OK so last question (I think :P) Somewhere I've read that reapers attack is fire element. Should I put fire in weapon or choose my racial element?

Never tested , but i guess if summon has fire its wise to use fire.
I'm thinking it is fire too, but I didn't do a very thorough test. All I did was let reapers hit my alt char, and a feoh wizard casting -100 resist on it. I did only 10 nukes, and the average damage was slightly higher when the -100 debuff was in effect so I guess it's fire.
I love when people blot their name out in the char info window but forget to do it in the chat log :P
Daily PVP Setup for Summoners should be +4 Wit +4 Men -8 Int. (int is not half as cool as u think it is trust me). +4 con -4 str. This is completely useless these days though.. because its so last chronical. I used to own kids with these setup, no noticible difference in matk that your spells hit for less, no curses didnt land anymore etc.

My oly setup used to be.. +4 wit -4int, +4 con +4 dex -8 str. I used to own sooo many kids including the vast majority of nova with this exact setup. Might seem wonky, but it is extremely good.

For a pure pve setup these days i would run +4 str -4 con +4wit-4men. and nothing else.
Awakened summoners can/should run +15 str for PVE if possible.

Current OLY setups should be something along the line of +10con +5 wit, or +5 con +10 wit imo. I use something different but its secret tech.
I have a question about Wynn Summoners with Bows. I recently got an Apocalypse Thrower and I'm not sure which SA to choose. Focus or Damage Up. I'm planning to sub to a Silver Ranger so I can maximize the bow.
can any wynners tell me what they spend mentee coins on like: what elements and atk or def? is it worth it OE'ing my r bow and is Damage up a good SA for us ty

bump?

also i heard fire element on weapon is good for damage output on reaper can anyone confirm this?

Can anyone share some info about what the man asked ? lots of us nubish summoners would appreciate!
mmmmm i think i would go for focus as SA, and yep i heard fire are the best attribute for reapers; i tried out weapon with fire attributte and i can see a difference
i went dmg up and no point oeing bow
just save the money for R95

Focus is actually extremely useful for cougars seeing as their base auto attacks aren't super impressing, but their crits are really high. I highly doubt many summoners are getting super close to crit cap even with focus on a bow.

I personally wouldn't go anything but focus on my bow.

I personally wouldn't go anything but focus on my bow.Max p critical i got on summoner is 435 without focus on weapon. With dynasty bow+ focus i got around 475 as i can remember. Never reach the cap.
I use dmg up on my R bow. No cap on that. The more attack you get the better it is.
Guys, which weapon is better for us? Bow or crossbow? And which SA?

Yea, but as I said I'd rather have more crits than a small increase in base damage on cougars, especially since the cougars only are taking a percentage of the damage up you get making it even less worth it in my opinion. I'll have to do the math on it and see how it is though over focus, although at this point I doubt it is better than focus.

Bow for sure, because with servitor share your pets are going to get more of a damage increase from the bow.

As for the SA it comes down to what you like. I personally like Focus a lot, as when I use my bow I'm primarily auto attacking, and the crits that I get with full buffs are crazy and I want as many as I can get. I can see how many would like damage up as well, but as I said it comes down to personal preference.

Looking for more suggetsions about dyes. What setup do you use?

M.atk doesn't boost your land rate anymore as it used to be. They introduced new status > m.accuracy (see your stats ) which now affects landrate of any magical skill.. + It depends on WIT>
M.Atk does boost landrate.

There are two things that can happen when you cast a debuff:

1. Resist
2. Evade

Resist rate depends on M.Atk
M.Evade Rate depends on M.Accuracy i.e. WIT

So, you still need the M.Atk to land debuffs. It just does 2 binary checks instead of one to determine whether or not it lands.

Please, if you don't understand how the game mechanics function, stop trying to contribute.

^ That is correct imo.
I have a lvl 86 Wynn that I use light immo set +4. Requeim thrower with dmg up and +4. And that works great on botht reapers and cougars but I have some augment that add m.atk on both bow and the accessories. But for dyes I plan to go maybe +Int, +Str and +Dex to try out the warrior setup because both reapers and cougars benefits from high dmg and fast atk speed.

Correct me if I am wrong

Can't get this, I was looking for info in oficial L2 page, so correct me if im wrong but it says that MEN affect these stats:
MEN
M. Def., Magic Cancel Rate, Resistance to magical abnormal state.
and you said that resist it's important for boost landrate
and:

In addition, some Awakening class skills boost resistance to physical (P. Mez resistance) or mental (M. Mez resistance) mesmerizing debuffs.

Link: http://www.lineage2.com/en/game/patch-notes/goddess-of-destruction/character-changes/

So, if I want boost my landrate should I get more MEN and WIT?
That should be correct. However the problem is to have high def with high dmg there seems to be no way to have both so you have to choose what way to go defensive Wynn or offensive Wynn. I like fast kills so I would go +DEX, +STR and +INT but I will sacrifice cast speed which is critical to faster heals and also P/M def will be lower so there is a little bit of frustration here  But if you are rich just buy diffrent armor sets and weapons and switch between them according to the situation :) But in the end it all comes down in what way you want to play L2
I don't think it's really useful to get +DEX on a summoner ...
Awakened summoners can/should run +15 str for PVE if possible.

Current OLY setups should be something along the line of +10con +5 wit, or +5 con +10 wit imo. I use something different but its secret tech.

See above. You wont regret +15 Str for PVE. DEX is close to useless atm (I have 59 STR 16 DEX (-12) without any notable difference)
So shall I only go for +STR and skip to add anything to INT, MEN or WIT?
Depends how you want to play your Wynn. I can only speak for my playstyle which is focused on melee dmg most, if not all of the times, so its mostly cougar use.

All equip I have is towards maximizing cougar dmg output i.e.
+3 TW light armor
+3 Apo Bow 300 DmgUp
+5% p attk Hat
+6 power short (i.e +2 STR)
+15 STR -12 DEX
Turtle Pet (i.e patk warsmith buffs all the time)
+3 enchant on weapon mastery passive
Subskills
x3 Crit rate
x3 Reuse/Mp cons
x6 patk/matk currently although after trying I think x6 pdef/mdef is better

Regarding MEN i have close to 10.5K mp and have never been in a situation thus far needing more MP/Mp regen (in party and solo)
Regarding INT I do land marks with decent rate (around 5-5.5K matak with +3Apo Bow/Lvl1 ISS Buffs/Turtle buffs) meaning the times marks don't land I don't think would be better with INT dyes.
Regarding WIT i could see changing one +5 STR dye for +5WIT mainly to boost a bit c.speed for pet heal/m. critical rate, although in a decent party I don't need to heal cougars much and Invoke/mark of Fire m.crit with a decent rate.

To put things in perspective with above setup it is possible for me to duo with a decent ISS (lvl1 buffs not lvl2) lower GoG (meaning effiently and not pvp with the mobs).
Also just yesterday finished with a 6-toon clan party Kartia Group without Tank just cougars tanking the bosses (although at Zeliaka I was under kamael xform).

Hope I helped some :-)
Well, i have a Summoner spectral master lvl 90 and i still dont know what dyes to add for PVP...

You already said the right setup for PVP

+5 wit and +10 con

You don't need INT your not a nuker and all your debuffs will land pretty much the same even if you get INT dyes. and you don't need str for pvp you need Health so you can keep your self and summons alive long enough to kill your target and the more hp you have the better Balance life will work when you get it at 91
