Subclasses after awakening take more xp to lvl?

After doing some tests with a friend, I've determined that Dual Classed toons need more xp to level. We're both 91, both have 50% rune, he has no mentee online. I gained 1.1% and he gained 1.75%. Is this right? Not an isolated incident. Any confirmation available on this, as this seems not right or fair. I'm a dual class because my main class is crap and I Don't want to play it.

The tests were done in the same xp party. Even double checked the numbers of exp gained, they were the same, he just gains more percent than me.
