How to reduce population for the servers

Here are some simple steps that will cut the server population down and allow people to play. Unless the main objective for NCsoft is trying to make the game look popular by rewarding people who stay logged in and force the game servers to be full.

- Step 1. - Get rid of sell shops ... Who wants to run around looking for a special item when we have the compability to search. Remove the auction house fee and add a shorcut to browse the auction house from anywhere in the lineage 2 world.

- Step 2. - The mentor system...Remove the rule where the mentor has to be logged in. Ok we are 3/4 of the way through. Next.

-Kick people who are afk 2-4 hours.

There you go I just cut the server population in half with three simple steps. Now people who want to play can play and enjoy the wonderful world of lineage 2. kthanks

I have a feeling that most of this stuff was done to inflate the online player count. Full servers look better to investors.

"Our servers are almost always at capacity."
Or, NCWest can keep up the status quo.

Leave the mentor system how it is. Ignore requests to incentivise the auction house over private stores. Ignore requests for more servers and server transfers. Host more login-server breaking events like Tersi's Light (which turns my stomach yet today, how many weeks later, when I stop and think about how bone-headed it was). And so on.

Any of these will reduce server population. Players will quit, freeing up the servers for those who are willing to put up with this garbage. Problem solved.
holy crap that is....GENIUS!

-LOOOOOOOOOOLRemoving shops would free up about 600-700 slots which will probably be filled by more bots and spammers..

I doubt your three suggestions would come anywhere near freeing up 3000 spots. Changing the mentor system would probably have teh biggest effect but I don't think NCSoft wants to since it's a money maker for them (aka Korea)..
Brilliant. Did you think of all these yourself?
