Why no mana potions?

ok, u r talking about melee and nuker balance, and what about healerS? Exping as a healer is a joke in this game.. it's 100% mana dependant class and there is basically no way to regain in, apart from mana tablets that are relatively RARE drop from mobs... I have played many mmos and I was always prepared for a hard time when exping as a healer (I always pick healers) but LINEAGE II system is just horrible... Not mentioning raiding, exping in a team which looks basically like this: cast, sit down, cast, sit down etc = joke. And don't tell me to exp in team, it's nearly impossible >70
There's an awesome skill called Invocation.
There are plenty of mana-preserving ways.

Do you use them to the fullest?
Both of you must be necromancers.
Holy crap, you resurrected a thread from 2006 for this? :D

I have never had problems managing MP with my Spellhowler, long since turned Storm Screamer. It is how it's been for mages ever since MP Pots were removed, you just need to learn how to manage your MP. Easiest way is to have a recharger toon, or level up a Kookaburra.
1st of all there are mana pots in the game , called elixirs with 2 or 5 mins cooldown (not sure atm)..
Secondly, you dont really need mp pots, if you know how to play the game. Even without an SE/EE for recharge, a nuker can manage almost constant exp in herb areas. Just make sure you 2 or maximum 3 - shot the mobs there. It's always preferable to go for green mobs rather than pink ones.
Even as an Sorcerer (lol at the lvl 1 B2m) , I didnt have much mana issues. But sticking with a SE/EE IS the way to play the game!

now go back to topic start date <3
Target your DD, press '1' (or what ever 'Attack' is on).

Next question. :p
Yes, you have to manage your mana in this game... otherwise you would be overpowered. Mana Pots drop in solo grind areas, MP Elixirs can be bought and crafted depending on your level. Pets and servitors can be acquired to assist in your mana regeneration and/or replenishment.

Bottom line is the game is not intended to be very easy and many aspect of the require you to use resources efficiently or perish.

very easy?

Roll around with 4 'assist accounts' doesn't get much easier :p
Pets can be qcquired to Assist HP replenishment. You can buy HP Elixirs. HP pots drop in solo areas at a 9 to 1 rate over Mana pots.

Difference is there are things like QHP and Healing Potions for HP, but not for mana. The amount of mana those Elixirs give make them almost a waste of adena to craft, IMO. They're like 3 spell casts. You pop one and all that mana is gone in < 1 minute, and you have like 4 minutes to wait for it to come off cooldown.

In R Grade the reuse is 2 minutes, but spells cost considerably more in some instances. AoEs are like ~200+ Mana and yoru "Vortex" is 125. I don't see many nukers trying to level in swamp pinging off 10% HP chunks with those two low power nukes. It's just not viable for a decent XP rate there...

And no one needs 3 assist accounts. All you need is an Aeore Healer for Recharges, and they have a better buffset than Vanila SE or EE had before. Back in the day a Nuker at high levels needed multiple buffers to XP decently (OL/SE/BE and SWS or EE), but that is no longer the case. With the consolidated classes post-Awakening.

The most you'd need is 2 - Iss Enchanter if you want superior buffs and Aeore for Recharges/Rez/Restore Life.

P.S. This was an epic Necro Post :P
Amazing, but even with awakened toons still this issue exists!

Only on areas that drop herbs,a nukers party can go on with 1 healer, for all others we need 2 healers. The solution we have is lvling sub healer to 85 and switch into sub for rebirth, but again why to need do this when melee partys can simply go on using healing pots and with 1 healer doing mass heals?

Mana potions should be in game and the tree of healer should regenarate mp too.

Mana pots exist in private servers. Ask them to if you can transfer your spiffy private server toons to retail. But it you must know, mana management came more easier since the game came out. You will figure it out when you get used to retail.
Ooh, sorry. Didn't realize that being able to kill 2-3 times faster (mob death to time spent) than a melee fighter warrants you to get more herbs and or mana potions so that you dont even have to take a single break and make the difference even bigger.

It's a pacing factor to the game-play, a necessity, in order to keep single classes from out leveling other classes easily, which already happens. mana pots would just blow the game in half.

I have no problems managing my mana on my archer and I spam my skills more than I used to before awakening.

anything you say is invalid because i sense you played WOW before you played L2.
with that said, this game is not meant to hand everything to you. there are ways of preserving your mana upto you to figure it out.
OR

NOT.

Are you trying to get trolled? Cause I smell food here ;)

Overpowered? LOL

I get hit with melee attacks that do 10X-100X more damage to me than my spells do back to them.

That must be because I am overpowered.

Yep.

Mana has always been a problem for mages. Herbs somewhat alleviated the problem if the mage gets lucky but do not alleviate the problem even a little if the mage is unlucky.

In an xping party, mage was always the weak link because the melee DD could swing without stop for an eternity but the mage ran out of mana after a few minutes and with that mana they really didn't do much more damage than the melee DD were doing and without mana they were doing way less than the melee DD. If that is balanced then I don't know what balance means.

At least we can now get full mana restoration from healers, but a much better system would be to give mages the ability to fully restore their own mp.

Because you are not a nuker who plays always using skills!

Example, melee party in harnak needs just 1 healer,so they can have 4 dds while nukers party will stay out of mana if not 2 healers.

Look I have played a mage on this game for a few years and the simple fact is yes we need mana to cast spells, mana pots drop in solo areas and not in group areas, helps to get mana regen from support, melee can bang around on mobs all day. Not sure what the big deal is?

I love being a mage and I learned to manage my mana or sit out of the fun. I NEVER came to the forums crying about how much it suxors to be a mage in need of mana. If us mages had unlimited mana we would be overpowered, even a 12 year old understands that simple concept... well most do.
OPer doesn't understand this isn't a private server. Just because it's free doesn't mean it's catering to your every whim and whine. There's no shouting for a GM or pming the GM on retail servers. You'll have to learn to manage mana with skill. Elixers, pets, augments, tats, skills and whatever else you can think of.
If u cant manage ur MP for 10 min...

There is MP herbs in SoA, but no HP herbs.. so unfair !!

That's the best idea I've heard since this thread was Necro'd, but that would just push DDs out of parties as people would push for two healers for two trees.

A simpler solution would be if they just made Aeore Force gave a Mana Gain boost to Just Wizards the way some of them only give P.Atk/Atk.Spd/etc. it to Bow/Crossbow users.

The main reason this sucks is cause they removed Higher Mana Gain and the Mana Gain Buff.

That being said, Double Casting Exists for a reason and Wizards should be using it liberally in groups. It's especially awesome when Skill Mastery triggers on it and you get a full minute of -50% MP consumption. I think Dark Elves who kept Empowering Echo are not able to do that, though.

you do better than me.

My SH alt has great MP management.

my SR alt sucks at MP management..

(well actually to be accurate, *I* suck at MP management on the SR)
