Bucketloads of bugs

When a player KS's me or PK me, I stop being MAD and become AWESOME instead.

However, when a game this old still has this many bugs and nothing has been done about it (judging on my forum searches that extends back YEARS),

I stop being AWESOME, and i become MAD instead.

A simple quest like the Pailika Temple that should take only 20 minutes to do took me hours (and i still haven't completed it yet due to the Z-axis stuffing up when I try to get to the final boss). I'm sure i'm not the only one. And i'm sure this issue has been around for a long time. Customer service (when you report a bug) gives a generic copy and paste response, and results are still not seen even weeks later.

When players are being ********s, I don't mind. But NCsoft should be a professional company that should at least get simple things like NPCs (kruma) and pathways right. If they can't fix it (which is ridiculous), then suspend the quest so we don't have to waste our time.

There's my MAD rant. And i shall become AWESOME again once they get all this settled out (which i doubt they ever will). I will forever be a mad rabbit. God **** it.
I think we're gonna need a bigger bucket.

You need to understand that NCwest can't do any bug fixes to the game. NCeast (Korea) are the only ones that can do any changes/fixes to the game. It has been this way since the start of L2.

So if the bugs we have don't cause a problem for NCeast servers (the korean servers) then the likely hood of us getting a bug fix just for our servers is very unlikely unless the bug is a game killer.

For most of us long term players this is something we have grown use to and expect that a large number of bugs won't get fixed, and just hope the next game update ends up fixing some of the bugs. I could list a hoste of miner bugs that would take a good dev team a week at most to fix, but didn't get fixed for well over a year or even two. It's just the way the contract is setup between NCWest and NCEast. We get what we get and have to deal with it till the next update.
Working as Intended
I believe NCWest is able to (and allowed to) change the game to some extent, as the vitality "event" shows.

The NPC at Cruma Tower have been bugged again and again and again for I-dont-know-how long. Why does NCWest not simply copy those magically disappearing NPC and place copies of them to a location where they wont fall through the floor constantly ?

It is not a *pretty* solution but it beats having missing quest NPC by far.

Anything NCWest does has to be authorized by NCEast (Korea) and that includes any event they run. NCWest is not allowed to change anything, even NPC locations as it would require altering the server scripts and that is considered altering the game system; only NCEast can do those things.

Wow, I've heard of some ridiculous things in contracts, but this is beyond what I would call reasonable. I understand the restriction for the changes in the game, but not allowing the game to fix bugs? That's just ridiculous. Simply ridiculous. Or as Judge Judy would say, THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS.

Don't mean to undermine what you said, because most of it is true -- but to my knowledge, NPC locations are based on a simple geographical location value (X, Y, Z coordinates) in their respective database servers and wouldn't require any script alteration. If that's not the case, then it should be. There should be a separation between data and business logic layers.

Though I wonder if they even have the rights to do a simple fix like that?
