Hi there , i decided to give a try to lineage2 lately.I quited aion about 1 and half year ago when i played on castor and have a few questions :)
-what server to start playing at ? i want an active server with medium/high population dont care about timezones since i can play anytime.
-i always play support what class would u suggest me to pick ? i was thinking of going dark elf either blade dancer or shilen elder since i like dark elves a lot ( inspired by Forgotten Realms books :D) which one of those has higher chances to get inivted in a party or both are welcome and hard to find ?
-Try one of the new servers, the older ones (Chronos and Naia) are just too full sometimes. Shilen, Magmeld and Bartz are the new ones.
-2nd and 3rd class don't really matter anymore (the ones you mentioned). There are 8 endgame classes, two of which being support characters. You can decide between Iss Enchanter (buffer class) or Aeore Healer (Healer Class). Summoners can sometimes be considered support too.
Check this out to help you choose your path: http://www.lineage2.com/en/game/races-and-classes/ Blade Dancer Awakening to Iss Enchanter is a good choice if you want to be a Dark Elf support character.
oh thanks for the answer mate would u suggest to pick an enchanter or a healer class , i ve been playing cleric in aion in case u know about its classes and many times regreted that i didnt play a chanter since in the end it was "enchanters" who were more fun to play since they combined support damage and nice healing when needed ,and also much more needed in parties
Depending on what your primary language is, i suggest you go for Magmeld / Shilen / Bartz servers (Medium Popz). Naia & Chronos (High popz) you may have trouble logging into over weekends, so to avoid it go for the other 3.
On support class, Shilen Elder are healers, i rec you start with a bladedancer and learn how to play the class, you should have a good time playing the BD class, everyone loves a BD in the party, will also be alot easier for you to level vs a shilen elder ;)
So start with BD, play a little and see how it goes, if it's not your style think about changing. Also watch other players whilst your leveling, you may find another class more appealing :)
Best of luck & Enjoy !
IMO healers are the hardest end-game class to play, the first one to catch crap when things go wrong, and the last one to get props when things go right. On the flip-side, they are much desired right now.
thanks electra i guess i ll go for BD then and see how it goes , all i need now is a lil investigation of which of those 3 medium po servers i must choose :)

Just don't make a Prophet, they have long since been deemed a useless and outdated class that never get invited to groups anymore. Only thing they are good for is being boxed with your main toon. :)

back in the day prophets were the choice healer/buffer along with Shillen Elders it ws the elven EE forgot what it was not elven elder but sumthing but anyway the elven buffer was considered the lamest and most unwwanted in a party if i remember right.

Yeah, they gave all their skills to other classes such as the Orc Warcryer, so now Prohpets have been useless since Gracia came out. It sucks because once upon a time they were always in demand, now they are just not worth leveling. I remember playing my Prophet from C4 to Interlude and people would pay me to buff them, now she is lucky to scrape a few adenas left on the ground by other players while following my main. *cries*
NCSoft has not bothered to give the Prophets any love for a long time now, their buffs not wanted by most groups anymore.

thanks for reading :)Don't. As a player of Aion you surely know by now that ncsoft is only interested in milking their games dry. The lack of support in this game is just appalling. On top of that as a newbie player you will experience the joy of being pked over and over as you try to level post level 40. If you dare complain about the PKers you'll be called a nub and a carebear and told to get your nonexistent high level friends to come save you. The playerbase of this game is very hostile to new players and it seems a majority of the high level ones are botters. To further add to the trouble there are level ranges where you're forced to level in TOI for maximum experience or deal with spending many many extra hours of time to get the same amount of experience. Since everyone is forced into TOI the PKers will camp there.
If that doesn't dissuade you from this game then I'll suggest you go bladedancer. SE isn't very good solo and their buffs are meh compared to ISS and other options. Bladedancers on the other hand are almost always in high demand and can solo quite well. I personally prefer the light elf version (swordsinger) because while having the same buffs the sws can use their buffs with any weapon while the bladedancer is stuck using dual swords. So in lower levels you can easily tank for your groups with a dagger and shield as a sws where as a BD is forced to use duals. Just something to chew on.
@McRibSammich
yeah they gave all the good buffs to the WC class who can buff the entire party in one rotation so people don't have to wait around for you to buff them individually as a PP

thanks for info mate , yeah indeed NCsoft support is ridiculous thankfully i didnt experience any problem while playing so i didnt need their support hope i wont need it now too :).About the PK system i have some experience about it when i was playing chronicle1 lineage its same in all games i could say and it was same in aion where u didnt care with ur lvl but for your abyss points and believe me i was elyos commander all server was after me so i guess i ll deal with it hopefully :)
Tbh the reason i wanna go BD is the dual sword style and dark elf , i was playing swordsinger at c1 i guess not THAT muc hhave changed since then and SW is still op and not so much played class? i just dont like the light elf style in lineage unlike dark elf :)
