Just a suggestion: Can we go back to how it always used to be where people were told of patches before or at least when they were implemented!!!!

You're really screwing with your playerbase and loyal customers with all this junk like the 1 day warning on healer patch, NO warning on Treasure Box or most importantly ISS buff patch and so on.

This is absolutely terrible service since people are losing tons of time re-rolling or buying items/gear for it to be patched without warning and in some cases without even mentioning it was patched!

It's beyond a joke.
1st - Welcome to Lineage by NC West. Get use to it.

2nd - I bet they didn't even know about those fixes...they just updated the servers with new files.

Lol you're saying this to a guy who's played the game for 7 years now and I've read every patchnote and info from english fansites to keep up to date on everything since I started playing..... it pays to know things.

I've never seen gameplay patches this badly documented and warned before.
Game is free to play now so they do not have to cater to players and can pretty much do anything they want now.
So you haven't been here for 7 years. That is not first ninja-patch in here...

"Player since 2005", nice signature.
Erica player... hun old server without players, only automated tools... 87/85/80/80... hun... yeahhhh!!!!!

So, english patchnotes is fail since you start to play. If you want realy patchontes read powerwiki or third part websites like rochand (old EllieBelly). This third part website have more accurate tranlsations from powerwiki.
Just play ur char like it was intended to if u cant afford to lose out
third part websites like rochand (old EllieBelly).
Both are dead...and were not connected to each other. Ellie is dead for about 2 years and Rochand for 6-8 months? But thanks for fresh info :P

It wasn't on any of the fan sites, and the point is that they were asked by a ton of people about this and all they said was that maybe they would offer a service in the future. It's not asking that much for them to learn what is in their planned patches.
What ISS buff patch??

What am I missing? :)

they finally fixed the bug with rythms stacking with warrior/knight harmonies
Just a suggestion: Can we go back to how it always used to be where people were told of patches before or at least when they were implemented!!!!

When was this mythical time that never existed?
Apart from instance and exploit fixes I've never seen ninja or overnight patches for any skills or mechanics like this before. It's always been spoken about months before hand.

And to the guy telling me to look on rochand...... you clearly don't look yourself, I'm always on there posting too, lol. And the Korean powerwiki (google translated) and any other site I can find such as l2archive etc.

Fixes have always been warned ahead of time. Now they're just implemented and players lose out BIG time, if we're lucky we get told the day they're done.

It's a complete joke.
Harmony has been talked about (not by NCSoft West) for a while now...

It's Korean patch notes (which is the same as what we get) has also been translated eons ago
they dont even know whats in those files that comes from korea. they do translation and thats kinda it. the best way to test something in the past was a pts if you didnt read korean, now we dont have any. lots of features listed but rarely seen any bug fixes list
When was this mythical time that never existed?

Ncsoft was pretty open about changes up until chronicle 3. Then they started phoning things in, adding half updates, hidden patches, and missing content to be added later (think c4 with it's rune castle town but no castle).

There are korean speakers at ncwest. Ncsoft wouldn't do half the **** it does if this community would stop fabricating excuses for them to do so. Every time you people say " LOL NO SPEAK TEH KOREAN. LOL NO DEVELOPERS. LOL ITS F2P TEHY DONT HAVE TO DO ANY WORK", ncsoft kills a baby kitten. Please think of the kittens.
Coming to the forums and posting your concerns about NCSoft not telling you enough about what they are doing to the mechanics of the game sure will make them change the way they operate. Kudos go out to you and keep on dreaming that impossible dream.
I found it:
http://boards.rochand.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=704#p10365

It's not an excuse, but that explains it. Hopefully NCWest will learn from this and never ever launch a patch again without a previous PTS.

what would a PTS of found? NCKR made the issue, not NCWest. NCKR fixed it with a weekly maintenance patch. also why it wasn't in the harmony notes because if was done before harmony.

Everybody seems to have missed it because this was changed in Korea during a regular Wednesday patch on September 28, three weeks before Harmony went live:
일부 리듬 계열 스킬을 *********스 인챈터 버프 스킬과 중첩하여 사용********* 수 있는 문제를 수정하였습니다.
"A problem about some Rhythm-series skills being able to be used together [= stacking] with Iss Enchanter buffs has been fixed."
http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/board/update/view?articleId=468237
(point 7 in the "Skills" section)

Since this happened before Harmony, it was of course not in the Korean Harmony patch notes, nor any subsequent ones. And since our patch notes are based on the Korean ones, the change is not mentioned in the English version either.

As to asking somebody at NCWest about technical details like this ...

see...now stop the QQ

Exploit fixes, like keeping and stacking the old buffs.
Bug Fixed.

People Cry.

Working as intended...

Just wait til they do something about the other Pre-Awakening skills being kept, like Echo. The crying will be Epic.

Not so easy to reroll a 9x toon...
Why echo is such a factor? Isn't matk saturated at some point?
People really never bother comprehending things do they? No one is complaining that things got fixed it's the lack of information or warning about patches now.

Patches and patch notes should be available early on to allow players to adjust, it's always been like this in the past.

Korean patch or no Korean patch the ISS fix should have been listed in our patchnotes. The community should've been told earlier too.

Where's the notes about the new element stones?
If they gave the infor it would have been like days before the path anyways. It still doens't matter.

We didn't get patch notes until like a week before they put the patch out, if even that.

Don't understand the crying about the lack of info.
Been playing since OB on and off, so I'm going to be THAT guy.

Really, if NC Soft felt like it, they don't owe us any patch notes at all, they don't owe us any PTS either, that they do if at all is because they want to. Even back when we payed for ACCESS NC soft had no mandate to give out any information about patches or updates, now that we only pay for in game trinkets, it's still the same concept.

Now also it was a bug, EVERYONE knew it was a bug, like all other bugs they get fixed eventually, you got to enjoy this specific bug longer than Korea, yay for you, now get over it and play the class correctly

NC don't have to do anything really (although Americans will probably try and sue them for any little problems).

The fact is NC provide a service and if they're doing something the customers aren't happy about then they need to hear the complaints. This silent patching really screws people over and makes people want to quit, if no one complains then they just keep doing it and think it's fine but wonder why people are leaving the game.

L2 is a VERY long game about planning ahead. Especially in the west where people prepare for updates nearly years before they hit western servers. Now the game is more pot luck where you can log in one day and find the toon you planned and built over months to years is rubbish.

Would you carry on supporting football if they changed the rules every week but didn't tell you they were doing it and didn't tell you the new rules until you fouled?

Yea, typical mindless blah blah. First off, companies only do what they can get away with. Just because they write it in a EULA doesn't mean it makes for a satisfied customer. Second, people petitioned them about it and they said "working as intended" and that there were no plans to fix it. That is why people finally decided to reroll, and some better communication could have spared people the effort. Lastly, if you want to be some random that does a couple of instances a day and shows up to RP @ fantasy island or you want to run some bot trains then yea the game is "free", but for people that want to actually hold a castle or compete in Oly, etc, the game is way more expensive now.
The new F2P is only 3 months in and people are dropping left and right to play other newer and better games, and yet the developers/gm's are forcing the boat to sink faster and faster without any inclination of what they are doing....

Not sure where you get your numbers, but servers are still full and will be impossible to login again this weekend, if that's failing, I want to fail that good

Dude, if you think that this is bad then you havent seen the extreme side of it yet, welcome to another Korean game called Rappelz where your aint getting any patch notes at all, not even after weeks of the patch, not available on any web around the net, no GM appear in game , no response on filing inquiry on any patching issue, even no one would answer you stupid question in their forum bcos everyone there are either fighting with their GMs or Haunting/trolling the forum; with everything given as they comes from dev. goodluck ;)

Compare with that one, this game is a paradise. ;)
I have been playing since 2004. NCSoft support has improved from those days and always is getting a little better. The Harmony patch is a little content/bug fix patch that NCSoft always does on the fly with no warning or patch notes until after its released. NCSoft did something different this time though, they put a name on this little patch. I don't believe they ever named these patches before. They only put names on big expansions as far as I remember.
Well they added content, so it's not a simple bug patch like the others. :P

But as I said, we've had plenty of warning from the fact that Korea had this patch ages ago... and it's not like you can stop the patch from releasing, so what if you know 3 months ahead of time?
Then I guess they wouldn't have rerolled their Enchanters to be competitive in Olympiad. But the patch notes for us came like 1 week before the patch so it doesn't matter. SWS I heard can keep Warding still but that will likely be patched as well. Issues like this are too blatant for the Devs to not see them and issue a fix.
yea but they also forgot to put warding in harmonies, everyone complaining that mages hit hard xD

The point is that people asked via petition, forum posts, and PMs about the issue. They were told that it was all working as intended and that no plans for skill resets, etc were in the near future. One would think they would have asked Korea about it and that Korea could have said "hey we patched this months ago and you'll get it soon." That would have solved a lot of grief. There's no reason the Koreans can't release english translations of their patch notes as they come out instead of making ppl try to google translate their website.
If they were interested enough to petition it then they were interested enough to know that it was patched in Korea and obviously we know these things all inevitably make it to us since all we get is their version + translations - events that matter.

Epic run-on :(

Apart from it was done in a very small weekly patch in Korea and not explained well so none of the players who read or translate the Korean patchnotes to NA even noticed it. Even the NA official team were unaware it seems, which is a complete joke.
IF they were unaware than that is a complete joke and an epic failure on their part. Maybe they just don't take their jobs that seriously...
