A quick lesson in how healer nukes and lumi summon work.

Ok as per request here's a little noobs guide to healer nukes and lumi (Unison of Lights) summon.

Note: I do get caught up and my 5s invincibility kicks in. It's nothing I couldn't have healed out of or simply start killing and let VR kick in, I was just too greedy trying to get more mobs when I was stuck.

The Lumi is terrible. It's not going to tank trains off of you.

Like I said, already tried it in both swamps and nursery. Both places I nuked the MOB and it beelined for me. Maybe the Aeore I did it on has better gear than you... I do use an M.Atk mage setup for soloing, don't you wear some Heavy/Robe tanky partying setup?

The Lumi needs AoE DPS to keep agro off of you. You can't just have it out, DPS, and have the MOBs chase it. It doesn't work that way. The Agro the Nukes generate is higher than how much they decreases, and without the Lumi DPSing it has only passive agro, meaning it's threat is 0. It's simply just on the hate list.

MOB behavior is such that it will always attack a pet over a player. That has nothing to do with the threat mechanics after the MOB has been agroed.

The tree is better.

You seriously think Aeore nukes generate less threat than they reduce? The point of the threat reduction is to allow you to DPS without pulling off of tank or higher DPS classes. It's not to allow Aeores to DPS endlessly while a pet that isn't even attacking the MOBs runs circles around them with the MOBs on them. The Lumi doesn't DPS high enough to tank off an Aeore reliably. It sure as hell isn't tanking just standing there passive running from MOB hits as you AoE plow them.

[EDIT] Just logged in and tried your way. No. Lol. No way is that thing going to tank trains while you stand there and AoE without an AoE skill. Sorry buddy not gonna happen but I'm sure the other Aeores who tried it will be able to figure out which way is best on their own.

As an orc he can afford to go lazy every now and then.

My point was simple. The Lumi cannot reliably aoe tank the waves. He did nothing but agree with my original premise. The tree would have pulled more mobs off of him and made it safer to kill them. It doesn't die nearly as fast as some would have you believe, since you can balance and progressive heal hits it.

Can you genuinely not see how clueless you are or are you just trying to troll? Firstly anything near you takes aggro from aggro mobs, even other players, non-aggro mobs just kinda sit there. Tree has 3k HP and doesn't move, it's a 3-4 shot, Lumi kites and has 16k hp.

Watch the video I even stand there for a little bit just watching lumi run about just to prove my point. As Smittie said I wouldn't of died if I wasn't an orc, I just didn't bother healing, I should've just started nuking but I wanted to pull that one last mob.

If a video and common sense don't work with you you truly are a lost cause.

Sorry, can't remember, it was just one of the USA safe replacement songs offered by youtube. For some reason my other video says the artist and gives a link to the song on iTunes (impressive since it worked out the track by it's self, Richard Cheese - Insane in the Brain), the USA one gives no artist info.

I don't know how you use your lumi, but when I have mine out it does everything I need to to do, and well! It tanks similar sized trains (if not more) as Ferine was doing. I send lumi out to get a bunch of mobs, then bring him home, and aoe them down. Lumi always lives (using balance and progressive), and I never go below 3/4 HP, unless I'm fighting assassins for blood pieces.

I only use tree in PvP these days as I don't see the value in PvE. And, I think Ferine was kind enough in another to point out my ignorance (and possible arrogance) about that, so thanks. I just hope he/she can do the same for you.

Point is, Lumi > Tree for what Ferine was demonstrating.
