So I am a healer at level 80 and I have tried this quest like 10 times (thank god no XP lose). I can't seem to do any damage to the boss to even get him down a 1/4% of this life. Even when I do damage, he does his AOE kill me skill and then his HP is full again. I have even tried to wear heavy armor and use a melee weapon with no prevail.
So if you are a bishop and have completed this quest, I would love some helpful hints on how I can kill this dude.
i have done it twice so far but on melee toons - but hopefully the following tips/hints help :)
his uber-skill named 'soul gathering' is only frontal aoe so it's best to get behind him or simply get away from him when he starts to cast it
try to pull boss away from those minions - they aren't social to the boss but highly to each other! those minions drop hp/mp herbs and are one-hit kills.
ps: at lvl80 you also get a damage penalty since the boss is lvl84 :(
Thanks....I tried again yesterday and failed 3 more times. I think at this point it is best to get a few more levels and then try again. I did get him to half HP this time, so that made me a little happier.

you get the damage penalty if you are 2 lvl's (physical) or 3 lvl's (magic) lower then mobs.
in your case you need to be lvl82+ to fight this boss without it ;)
Well i managed to finish this quest after 2 deaths!If u are lvl 80 healer u deal like really 0 dmg to him!so instead use a leather vorpal armor and a dagger!but u will need an iss to come with u!get in front of the npc that ports u into the instance and ask the iss to give u warrior harmony sonatas(if he has +time it would be perfect)and buffs for patk from superior minion and jump inside the instance immediately pull the boss at a corner and every time it casts gathering souls just go at his back so he wont hit u...it took me 8-9 minutes to kill it!u will need to look at ur health at all times just put auto atk greater battle heal and divine flash divine curse and surrender to holy!keep casting the curses every time the wore off!divine curse wont let him heal that much and you will be able to take him out!GL :D
healers shouldn't get any trouble to kill this boss, imo.
pull the boss from minions using wind shackle (if not, surrender to holy will trick it out), then dryad root him to death, debuff (divine curse), and nuke to end. remember to run away to corner if he start casting his atomic bomb. Ofc, unecessary to say you should pay attention to enchant your skills at least +5. to say the minimun.
I remember doing it with my SS back in the days, inside with my loyal kooka (in the worst case, she could trick a demoniac heal on me >:D )
the real pain comes when you try it with mages (I tried it with my sub Archmage, aw): I just could finish it at 81, when I got Aura Cannon skill (or smtg like this) - a super aoe frontal skill, then I could kill minions with 1 hit and get plenty of herbs to refill mana/hp.
