Solo Kartia: buggy as hell

I won't even bother going into how "solo" kartia is just squad kartia, except you're working with a bunch of ****** AI, simply because I'm sure everyone knows anyway.

So the buggy thing, I've lost count of how many times I've had to quit solo mode simply because the AI bug out on me, either it's the enemys/instance it self, or my "allies" having their brain switched off, I'll mention that I'm an Aeore healer before I start.

Scenario 1: I stay up the stairs to simply keep the NPCs alive, I stand near the back to the left hand side, the mobs then only come at me in smaller waves as some stand near the bottom of the stairs for a little while longer, giving my ******ed allies time to grab agro and help kill, so either way I do this, sometimes they all come at once anyway so I spam the hell out of heal to keep alive, several times in a row I noticed that the mobs didn't even make it to the stairs and simply stand at the side of the path till I go down the stairs and run into their face, I then kill them and the next wave just doesn't begin, forcing me to restart.

Scenario 2: I just do it "normally" at the bottom of the stairs, going up and down to heal the NPCs, during the end of some waves I noticed again the next wave didn't start, totally random as hell, making me restart again.

Scenario 3: Again I'm doing it normally, even at wave 2, my allies bug out on me and the only ally remaining is the tank ally which sometimes takes much much longer to use his aoe agro skill to draw them in, making me run around for a good several mins bored out of my skull, so with only 1 NPC attacking I'm using my 2 crappy aoe skills to help kill them quickly, I finally get to the mini boss stage and the NPCs finally decide to help in their own sweet time, after the mini boss dies, I run forward and see the NPCs arn't following, so I thought perhaps they will follow me if I continue onwards and go into the next room for mini boss 2, I go in, about 20 mobs after me, notice they still havn't followed...forcing me to port out and restart.

May be 1 or 2 more scenarios but my memory is being funny on me, eitherway these buggy scenarios keep happening to me on a 50% basis at least and I'm just giving the heck up on "solo" kartia, it would be nice if it was an actual solo mode and not some fake squad mode for the anti-social.
It is as you described for me as well. However, because of the changes, the last room for me is much easier so it evens out. The tank NPC seems to be the root of the problem. Move around to make him move around but your run path must include times that Adolph will be able to stand still for him to use his hate.

In the second room, the NPCs take time to do something. What I do is I debuff the boss in the room immediately and then try to run a tight irregular circle around the tank. Once you get the tank to hate, it's all good til that boss opens the next door.

In the final room, stand deep to one side. Mobs travel to the deep center near the door. If you are not in range they start to meander off the spot. This is a great opportunity to use your targeted aoe since they are grouped. Do the mass dark veil (i think that's what it's called) and start running a circle around Adolph. Do this for each stage including when the small boss reappears. I find it you don't hit the mobs, the NPCs won't help you much.

Hope that helps.
Any ideas how to prevent the archer from teleporting into the 2nd room (once the 1st room is done) on his own? He always does that, sometimes he returns to the group but on some occasions he gets lost somewhere and never appears again (I guess he spawns in the middle of mobs and dies).
Run into 2nd room when poison disappears, dont stand around.

And dont forget to kite the mobs around, the npc's might lag a bit getting to you.
they fix the summons but again they don't attack at last boss
Just did the instance and after the poison disappears, the NPCs were not moving up. So I went back down and lo and behold, one stray mob was alive on the prisoner stairs.

Again, in the final room, standing in the corner allows you to get one good aoe shot into the mobs and coordinates the NPCs to help you. For me, it's the most efficient way. Also for the healers doing this, I've assumed that they have the healer NPC healing them. Hopefully no healer is picking the tank and the 3 DD NPCs sending Elise to town..
I can confirm solo Kartia is a BIG BUG atm.

I sent archer to town, and the only 2 NPCs from my party that did some job was healer and tank. Healer healed me and tank was using his aggro and attacked mobs. Summoner and the Warrior were both AFK during all first 7 stages with the exception of 2 hits that Warrior did for all 7 stages.

After completing the first 7 stages NPCs just disappeared. There were no in 1st room nor the 2nd. I went to 2nd middle room and all mobs with the boss aggroed at me and I ran again to 1st room to check for NPCs. They were not in there. Then I ran back to the middle room and NPCs appeared from nothing there.

And the funniest part followed. The door which is connecting 1st and middle room closed and mobs with the boss was locked up in there with no chance for me go back or they to come back in the middle room.

SOE...EPIC FAIL :)
you can add to the list door being closed after you kill the boss on poison stage. I couldn't pass over, there was no NPCs around, so i was forced to soe and reenter.
Also add no boss on 2nd room, with result that you're stucked there with common mobs respawning endlessly.
My last one is the boss alive since stage 1, kinda a hell, but at least no need to soe and reenter.
I didnt mention friendly NPCs AI cause it's so obviously bugged. I'm sure NC is aware and not going to fix it:)
Summoner and the Warrior were both AFK during all first 7 stages with the exception of 2 hits that Warrior did for all 7 stages.

To improve your gaming experience, AI of these NPCs was changed to match behavior of characters played by real humans. This is not bug, but feature since last maintenance.

:D
That Warrior spends his time looking more at my char boobs than fighting monsters.

Ultrageous!
That Warrior spends his time looking more at my char boobs than fighting monsters.

Come on, he's an orc. It's an orc thing.
I sent the warrior away once, my archer ended up dying somehow lol. So I think the warrior should be kept, I just send the summoner away, coz I cant see if the pets attack anyway.

Yeah, something is wrong with archer, mine died in 1st room AFTER 7th stage, no mobs around. His body just dropped on floor, lol (even before maintenance).

My archer usualy get stucked in the second room ... anyhow i think warrior is the most usless char
Biggest challenge for me as Feoh is that the tank stands around too long and takes aggro way too late. In 2nd and 3rd rooms, even if I don't use a skill - thinking mobs will automatically hate on the tank - I have a room full of mobs jump on me and I have to run around for what seems like an eternity before the tank will use any hate skills, which just seems to pick up half the mobs anyway. I played the instance a couple of times but I have now given up out of frustration.
I did Kartia before update and after.
Tbh I haven't found it "buggy as hell"
I'm Feoh.
Still with S80.
I always liked more summoner then archer but as before sumoner was loosng someties summons I had to choose archer.
Now I dismiss archer and all is ok.

Only differences:
- Can't drag mobs from 2nd room - pity but no drama
- Mini boss appears in 4h stage in RB room.

Tactic.
1st room.
I DON'T wait mobs close prisoners.
I just run like with group one to stairs (place when all mobs come down) and nuke all before they split.
As result i'm far faster and safe up to 2-3 prisoners.

In 2nd room try not aggro all room just hiting mini RB, then hedecide to leave room much faster.

RB room.
I stay in very corner of room.
At every stage all mobs concentrate in middle if you don't hit any.
Then in 2 AoE hits I have 90% of mobs dead.
Rest, let group take aggro on themselves and hit left after 4-5 sec room is clear.

After 4th stage when Mini-RB appear, I still stay in corner trying to not aggro anything, having same tactic, 2 hit all those mobs at center.
When they are dead I focus back on Mini RB till next stage and then repeat.

RB same as before jump to not get dead and take Knight to be safe.
Sounds really good Sercatum.

I usually only do it on my tank or enchanters (yes I have 3 now lol).

But I have tried it once on nuker and archer. Nuker was a bit rougher than archer, but like you say, the mobs die easy to nuker.

Good tips all in all.
Today I had to give up Kartia solo, because the NPCs were apparently stuck in the first room.

When I entered the second room, I noticed they didnt follow. I thought "no big deal, they re a bit lagged", but for what seemed forever they still were not there, so eventually, I track back to the first room where I just have the time to see them all standing idle on the main stairways there before I get ported back in second room. The door gets closed too somehow at that point and I m inside, and the NPCs still outside. Some mobs aggro me, I still think "let's wait some more and see what happens", and mainly run around near the entrance with the mobs behind me, even hitting one every now and then when possible (thinking that hitting the mobs might trigger the NPCs to move or get ported in the room)... it lasted a full sonata round like that (I m ISS), I still never saw the hint of an NPC in the room after all that time, so I just gave up.
We're looking into the AI issue with the Ally NPCs in Kartia (Solo).

Good to hear. :)

I'm not sure however it's solely an npc AI issue, I think it's a mob AI issue also. The mobs all now go and pile in one spot and ignore the NPCs, previously they would attack the NPCs which in turn would make the NPC's fight back.

One example I noticed in my solo run 10 minutes ago. I sat in the corner of the boss room and watched, all the mobs spawned and ran to a spot in the center of the room right next to where the support units were clustered. Both of them just sat there doing nothing, just watching each other. It used to be a case that I could run around the NPCs and the mobs would attack them and all fall off onto the NPCs, not now.

Yes, there is also an issue with the Mob AI. We're also checking on that as well. Thanks! :)

Hopefully should hear some good news with tomorrow's maintenance then :)

I'd rather wait another week thanks so they can test any fixes they find properly.

Think of bug fixing like the old arcade game Pang. You start off with one big bubble (a big bug) and shoot it to destroy it. It then splits into two smaller bubbles (medium bugs). You shoot those two and they split into four smaller bubbles (minor bugs), which then dissappear when you hit them.

More time = more time to test = less bugs when it's fixed.

I know there is one between 2nd and 3rd, never seen one between 1st and 2nd.

There's a door at the bottom of the ramp into the 2nd room. It closes after you port in and aggro the mobs.
Never had probs with the NPCs and so far Ive done it on 9x Nuker, 9x Archer, 8x Iss, 8x Healer, 8x Tank, 8x Summoner and 8x Dagger.
Yes the Archer NPC died 1 time and 2 other times one or more of the Summoner NPCs Bubbles didnt follow but youre still able to finish the instance..
For me there are only 2 probs after the last maintenance:
a) mobs are totally ******ed now in middle and last rooms and dont aggro me or my NPCs anymore unless I jump on their faces = time loss
b) saved prisoners attack only the miniboss and the endboss in last room while prior to the patch they would kill normal mobs as well
Yeah, it's such a glitchy instance. I have the NPC's run ahead into the second room for no apparent reason while I'm on the lower level. I have run around the tank for 5+ minutes in the hopes that he'll hate with no luck. Sometimes the NPC's won't come up to the second room at all. Silly little instance. It can get frustrating for sure. Still good xp, however, if you can tolerate it. ;)
npcs in lvl 95 solo kartia are lol : you pick warrior = you get heal , you pick knight you get archer and so on gz !
npcs in lvl 95 solo kartia are lol : you pick warrior = you get heal , you pick knight you get archer and so on gz !

If it is predictable - is ok ;)
choose warrior + archer and it should be ok :D

Wait ... hmmmm .............. few days and I'll try 95 as well :p
P.S. at 85 all NPC are inline with names :o
npcs in lvl 95 solo kartia are lol : you pick warrior = you get heal , you pick knight you get archer and so on gz !

I can't tell if you're serious or not, but since you pick the one npc class that's not going to be with you ofc if you pick warrior you will get heater+archer+summoner+knight. If you pick knight you get warrior+heal+archer+summoner. That's how it's supposed to work and works fine for me.
Here is how i did it,

1rst room: always have a target on mobs, so the npcs will attack,
try to survive come on lol you are healer wtf.

2nd room: run forward, click next target, then run circles and try to heal yourself, npcs will handle the rest.

3rd room: do the same, always target on(put next target on skill bar to be easier)then run circles near npcs(tank npc,is doing randomly agro but mobs need to be near him so he can get them agro) after that just survive till zellaka, and then just heal up and have target zellaka, npcs will handle the rest.
it's simple...of course i had some difficulties in the beginning but then it was a piece of cake.

If it sounds like a bot...
Hello guys, im buged instance solo on kartia, cant enter... appears msg "the maximum number of instance zones has been exceeded" can help?
i didnt make it today...

can help Juji?
Working as intended

Keep trying, just like when servers are full..
So these extra kartia pass will be around for a long time cause either im blind or they are not at the galeria or the l2 store. Its really tiring to have to spam for a long time to get in. I my self dont play a lot and kartia was way to keep up , now i couldnt get in the past 2 days :/
Anyone knows if the amount of instances available was decreased at kartia??
npcs in lvl 95 solo kartia are lol : you pick warrior = you get heal , you pick knight you get archer and so on gz !

WAT?

If you pick warrior you don't definitely get the warrior.

So many people do not actually read the NPC dialogue and just click something without understanding what they are actually choosing.

In the solo kartia instance, the NPC asks you which of the five you want to SEND AWAY. So if you choose warrior, you will get all the NPC except the warrior. And if you choose tank, you will get warrior, archer, healer and summoner but no tank.

It's what happen when script does the job for you, and you come back to realize something is wrong there.

Elixir of Blessing is the way then.
The problem I think lies within the "we got it right" mentality of the game designers. I have had healer cast NOTHING, the tank fight nothing and the mobs ignore the NPCS and swarm me. There no where to run, the mobs move faster than you. Clearly the problem with BUGS and AI failures lies with the devs and since support famously says
The Game Support Team is not a part of the development process and is unable to comment on or answer questions about those aspects of the game. We invite you to share your thoughts via the official forums:
Sure fine a wall not appearing in town they fix that. But when buggy quests like Seven Signs Part 4, they will not fix/change.

So what makes you think they fix this?

I am now of the impression the DEVS have no problem with people dying because of game bugs and writing to support become joke of the day and devs hi5 each other for job well done on deliberately aggrovating many people.

Do NOT expect NPCs to do all the work for you. Yes sometimes the healer either totally ignores your low HP or just plants the useless tree, and you die unless you pop a healing pot (so, always keep it ready).

Having done solo Kartia a few times, you should have learned NPC patterns and figured out how their AI works. For example, you can "force" the healer to group heal everyone (i.e. prisoners, your servitors, etc) if you manage your HP properly.
atm only one problem in kartia95 (maybe in other solo too) is that kalios animations still not working, and looks like that mob teleporting. just done that instance in 18min.
hardest to finish kartia was on 85 and 95lvl. then i finished it at same time when buffs started disappear. and ofc failed to root/stun watchman in 2nd room. sometimes it happens with archer. with dual tank k85 done in ~26mins (just last time i was there long time ago)

Would you mind sharing this knowledge? I am pretty curious if it is possible.
Conversion.

Health.
Would you mind sharing this knowledge?

The healer has the following pattern: when your hp is above 60% (or so) she randomly gives you weak single-target heals. When it drops under 60% she gives a powerful progressive heal (AoE); so, if you stand in the middle of support troops they get healed too.

For example, when I'm finishing the first room and my summons are dying from poison, I just let the mini-boss hit me a few times (with TP off) and there comes the healing.

Just remember that when your hp is dangerously low she will most likely ignore you or, in best case scenario, cast a tree. And if your mp is low as well, chances are she will be recharging you right at the moment when you desperately cry for a Panic Heal.

P.S. The 2nd room of K95 is certainly bugged: sometimes NPC ignore you completely, and just stand in one spot doing nothing, or keep blinking into the corner and back. Also, there's a "cursed spot" at the entrance that would catch you in the infinite loop or porting/blackscreening (while mobs keep hitting you) so you end up dead once you step on it.
Server: Chronos this past week.

I notice some strange bug in solo kartia, I'm playing my tank(DA) class and pick an summoner as an helper npc. When kiling the final boss in 3rd room, I notice the npc sumoner pet the glowing sphere was hitting me, it keep hitting me and follow me until I soe from solo kartia.

2nd issue: In Ancient Kartia When you kill the boss Jereman (spelling?) he suppose to give you two chronicle of kartia (quest item). It happen a few time after he die, there was no quest item given BUT you can continue the quest/instance. This bug make you short 2 "item" to trade in for the ancient kartia xp bottle.

3rd issue : Ancient Kartia - Healer buged: I usually kill the npc healer last in the 3rd room. SInce the healer will outheal your damage if you try to kill it first. I was on my dagger and was able to kill all other npc and tank faily quicky as normal. When healer was only one left it keep out heal my damage. When I get the healer npc to 1/2 hp with 1 heal it back to full hp? I manage to get healer to 3/4 hp but never able to kill it. it will be back to full HP in 2-3 second.

I killed these npc healer many time doing Ancient kartia with no problem but this one was buged. I spend 12 minute trying to kill this npc healer and got kick out due to out of time.

oh well that was a strange and buged week on chronos server, anyone else ever run into these issue?

That's been around for weeks. I've experienced that a few times. After the final boss died, it started hitting me for no reason. I thought I was the only one who experienced it. No one else complained about it, either in game or on the forums.

One time it eventually stopped hitting me. For no reason.

Thats not a bug, working as intended. Was answered officially, search forums or ask support directly...

Not an issue, you just doing it wrong. First kill iss, then DDs, then make tank left with ~40% hp. Kill healer after that. Tank is the last one to die. Nice and easy, takes 10-11 min.
That's been around for weeks. I've experienced that a few times.

Since I often pick summoner npc, I get that bug regularly. The summons keep hitting me, beginning from the 1st room. I just find that tickling. :)
