ANYWAY I broke trying to hit +5, got 40m worth of crystal out of it. Have you laugh im an idiot, after laughing tell me your story of OEing and breaking it so i feel better
Hehe, one time I was fed up with lags on chronos so I decided to quit. And the best way to do it to blow your weapon while enchanting.
At that time i had +3 blessed apoc buster with 300 elements, used regular scrolls, got it to +6. After that i decided to start playing again :)
Icarus Hall blew up going to +4 ( couldn't sell it for the crystal S value which was 10 times higher than R weapons were selling for so why not)
Sacredium with 300 wind blew up going to +5 (after I found out it would take 800m in gemstone S grade to give it acumen)
Requiem Buster [event] - Acumen (when SA crystals were 40m) blew up going to +4
Requiem Retributor [event] blew up going to +4
Requiem Caster [event] blew up going to +4
Requiem Thrower [event] blew up going to +4
Bound Requiem Thrower blew up going to +4
Bound Requiem Fighter blew up going to +4 (wanted this mainly for the crystals)
Bound Requiem Stormer blew up going to +4 (same as above)
Weeks worth of mentee coins were wasted during all of this as well as the stones/ crystals it took took to make the one lvl 7 attribute. Why? Because I wasted adena when I bought an Elegia weapon from the item vendor without knowing how hard it would be to put an SA on it and because I wanted to see what the +4 on R grade bonuses were. Failures all around.
Well i always fail at +4. I dont think chance of success is 2/3. There is the nsstore selling ewr destrcution..Isnt it obvious? They wont let you take you weap to +4 without paying .

you are not an idiot, i'm very proud of you. i feel sad i can not even plus 1 and put element on my weapon. +3 means cloud 9 for me. +4 feels like heaven

Most people who OE do it on clean/bound weapons so that the loss is minimized or nullified.
Trying to +5 a 300 Attr Apoc Bow without a BEWR is not intelligent, IMO, unless you're very rich and simply don't care that you're throwing away 350M+ adena when it blows up.

True, but on the other hand I can sell mine when im done with them, and they are currently going for about 100m (or more) so its not too bad...just dont get me started on the fail that is crafting, that's another story.

100 mil? I dunno there seeing you can claim a free +4 duels from the site. It pretty much killed the market unless you want Moirai or Vesper (useless unless noble). I don't see the point in getting s80 when the free gear saves you money and at 86 you get free R grade then you can work on getting twilight if that's your goal.
as for crafting I have always referred to that as "Korean Random Luck" and mine is terrible. I once failed a skill enchant that had a 90% success rate...I mean can you get any more pathetically unlucky? LOL
Here's my story guys. During the new event I've made so much money by selling shiny gifts (600m to be exact), so I was able to buy a +4 Focus standard apocalypse thrower with 300 holy element yesterday. 15 mins ago, when I was trying to +4 my immortal set, I failed 2 of them continuously. So I was thinking: the success rate is 2/3, and I'd already failed 2 items, also there was a wild EWR in my inventory. So i had a strong feeling about successfully enchanting the bow and i couldn't resist it so i did enchant it xD. And BOOM! I blew it. Got some crystal, idk how many lol i didn't even look and exit the game. I'm not feeling so bad about this, probably because I have only played this game for almost 2 months (I started in May). So yea, guess this is how I quit haha.

what server are u? in Bartz, for some reason, there are currently 2 uni apoc bows for 500kk each, there was one for 380kk 2 days ago. Should have bought it before Tauti, it was 300kk back then. xD
I had +4 spirit*raid duals back in the day that I used on my gladiator, then passed them onto a bd alt. The bd eventually outgrew them and I couldn't get them to sell so I decided to bust them.
They went to +16 and I sold them to alania on bartz for 900m :(
My dagger friend blew 7 of them trying for +4 as well :). I Blew 2 apoc bows going +4. Even worse, I knew this kid that was playing l2 drunk and blew up his ant queen going +4 thinking it was a blessed enchant (back when aq was worth ALOT more.).... feeling better yet?

I tried it, and I swear man, that **** is rigged more than usual enchanting. I could never get passed +4 on my power shirt. Go figure.
Same happened to me, could only get to +5, eventually decided to just save 1 blessed enchant till AFTER the event, hoping my luck would go up when less people on the server are enchanting.
I actually waited until I had one of those luck enhancing stones to try it, then realized I couldn't even use it.... Said "screw it" and clicked and to my surprise got to +6!!!!! Stand strong kiddo, when l2 beats ya down, it might have a surprise in store for your tenacity!

and they were worth of 700M each, which back then was a HUGE SUM OF MONEY. Needless to say I had the urge to go +18. Let's just say I quitted a few hours later :D

I got the ULTIMATE in OEing story for ya....one of my clannies came from a Huge clan on server...had all the Epics in the Game...well one day no one was on...he was bored ( and been drinking ) and had some OE scrolls. whats he do for the hell of it.....tries to go +6 on Earring of Antharas and blows it up....so being ****** he blew up his Anthy he tries OEing his +4 Blessed Zaken Earring to +5 and that blows up too, so what he do....yep you guessed it....he moved onto his other epics.....next on list is Valakas neclace +6...( now why ya want to go more than +6 on any epic is a question i have)......yep you guessed it....his +6 Valakas blows going to +7.....on to the Frintezza Neclace...alrdy +5...wants to go +6......FINALLY a Sucess...now he has +6 Frint and a renewed feeling in the OE department...so onto the Ant Queen Ring.....alrdy +5, wants +6.......BLOWS up....well needless to say...we didnt see him for a week due to depression and now...we no longer allow him to carry OE scrolls...hows that for a OE story.....imagine how much money and time invested in those epics and now....well 1 left.....OUCH!!!
Long time ago (don't remember chronicle, buut it wasn't higher than interlude), tryed enchant angel slayer on my 78lvl th ( that time it was epic hard to make 78), broked 2x on +5 at same time when it was like 1.5kkk+ews. Then i had 58lvl bd, and with this bd i did aangel slayer that i bought for last money to +12 and sold it. 2 days ago did s duals +10, when clan leader wanted expell me for such money wasting. Sold them too. Then i got draco bow+f, did it to +7 and iwas happy becouse it was looking so cool. Used it like for few weeks, and 1 day while we was farming mos upper, finished ews quest, and i thought, shoud i try +8? ANd its succeed! i was happy, and i thought i was lucky, so i tryed +9. And every day did +1 and +1 till i got +15. Than i thought all or nothimg. And bam +16! Whole aden, clan, all, friend, every one was saying gg,gz,gratz,cg and iwas happy :D

While having played around 8 years on and off I have only succeeded 3 times in making +16 weapons even though I tried many times to make it more .. D, C and B grade .. enchanted one type (blunts preffered) of weapon and exchanged it for another (a mage weapon) and sold them .. Mage weapons are no go if you don't like crystals =)

Always the same story... get Apo Retributer, make it 150 ele, so ppl will at least invite me in pts, raise 100kk (like 10-14 days), spend 60kk to buy 4 ewr, then fail... with the rest money buy another weap... make it 150 ele... and so on...
So now raising again money to try 4th time :cool:

but on the flipside, the fortune weapon + 10 scrolls from the first Coins pack, all 10 landed - I was doing +1 whenever I remembered.
Back in the (good) old days, when D weapons cost 3.2m, I was making a fair living from making +9/+10 D weapons, although on a bad week it did make me 200,000 D crystals. (40+ failed weapons).

Yeah D weapons, I was bored and bought a tarbar and manged to get the thing to +14 in one sitting. I had these cube frags I turned in for weapon enchants and I wanted to get rid of some.
