Healers and Kartia

Aeore Healer Started Last reply 34 posts
Ok... I enter forum now and then and it seems that each time I enter there is a new lolHealer that can't do Kartia 85 solo and is blaming npc, ai, ncsoft, his/her mother, etc.
I won't post links but if you search you'll find :).

So I hope this is usefull:

First thing: Get pipe from an iss... is only important buff you can't give yourself except sonatas, or just get full buff. Not really necessarily but it makes things easier.

Second think: Always lumi and backfire the minibosses/boss.

Third think: Send warrior to town (this is a personal choice... the archer has half kill chance -> rare but is nice, got it 2 times on boss, healer gives you mana, summoner provides nice destraction for mobs).

Fourth thing: Buff your **** squad -> yeah... you can do it. Also the prisoners. Note here: I haven't got confirmation that their stats are actually boosted but for me it seems faster if I do this. If any1 can confirm or infirm it is nice.

Last thing:
If you get stuck on your allied npcs, they don't attack/whatever just select 1, hold ctrl and push him like a **** enemy (u know... the skill way).

First room:
1. Don't use low details -> u don't see the beam on the prisoners if you do (or stay on low details but it is easier if you don't).

2. Stay up at the first and last round of mobs at each stage -> that's when the beam strikes

3. Keep your **** radar on mob detection (yeah it has that option) (I see in some posts that "the next round does not start") -> you forgot a mob somewhere. kill all mobs w8 20-30 sconds/whatever and it will start

4. Killed the stage 7 miniboss and you can't go up the stairs -> same as 3

Second room:
1. Don't wait for mobs to come out -> enter the **** room run till you get them all, celestial yourself and kill their *****. they die in 3 aoes. except miniboss of course.

2. When the miniboss is at 1/2 and goes to next room don't attack him and just go with him

Last room:
1. Buff prisoneers at stage 3.
2. Don't be a hero... run if you must
3. At stage 7 be sure you don't get feared, and also be sure that if by chance you get fear you have space to run -> if you run into wall with boss on you... bye bye you are dead

I'm healer 88 (was 86 when I started to do it), immortal set, +0 req weapon so nothing fancy, actually below average. I did kartia each day since it appeared. Failed only once (first time I try at second room... didn't know I'll get ported). Each time took 25 to 28 minutes. So is not impossible, not hard, not "so buggy I can't finish it" (even tho it has some bugs - once my npcs didn't come to last room although I went to the end of it - only once and didn't fail that time either), not boring (u can't really get bored in 25 mins), not whatever.

Just use your head (surprise... that's why you have it) and don't blame npcs for your mistakes.
/facepalm

There's a guide for this already. It's called the search button. Use it.
at least he posted a possible solution , not a question.
it helps imo..
Tbh I don't do solo anymore for 2 reasons.

1.) It's impossible to enter.
2.) If I do get in, on the final boss, I seem to be an NPC magnet. They pile on me I get stuck then killed.
/facepalm

It is not a guide, I just posted some tips. Also most of them are not in that guide. Also if you don't think is usefull don't read it.

And the most important tip was: "Use your **** head" witch was not specified there.

1. Today it seemed better.
2. Celestial+crystalize+heal yourself+not stay near wall should do the trick.
First thing: Get lute from an iss... is only important buff you can't give yourself except sonatas, or just get full buff. Not really necessarily but it makes things easier.

No, you have Lute (force of Saha), the buff you miss is Pipe Organ Melody (HP/CP/MP) and Knights or Wizard Harmony, which are much more important than melody. Personally I take Wizards harmony, but the majority of healers will find knights much better.

Few ways to do it.

Fairy + Sustain once mobs come and run round npcs until they take aggro.

Stand in corner on the wal next to the door and kill a couple of mobs at a time, they'll pile up in front of the door.

(My way) Wiz Harmony, Fairy+Sustain+Tree+Celestial once mobs hit you and spam next target, single nuke, and both AOE's until all the mobs are dead and just boss left.

You are right, my bad. Pipe not lute. The hp/mp was the effect but got the instrument wrong :).
I dont even buff my helpers, never have. I think I'll try that tomorrow though.

And yes Ferine, I do find Wizard Harmony speeds things up quite a bit, but at 86 Knight provided some safety for me while learning mob/boss behavior. So was still worth it to try in the long run.

Does buffing the prisoners in first room help any? Or should I not bother? I've never had to, but if it means I dont have to pay as much attention to the prisoners and just heal them inbetween stages that would help alot.

And also, get to 87, this instance is a joke then, 2 celests with short cooldowns, should be near impossible to fail it at this point, not to mention the Emblem of salvation.

Buffing the prisoners in first room is useless. Buffing prisoners in last room seems quite usefull... but still I'm not sure about if or how much their stats are boosted... I just do it anyway since I didn't see any confirmation/infirmation of this.

Note... I always played wizard harmony... much faster.

In reply to a helpful and good post this is a rude and totally unfitting commment ...

2.) If I do get in, on the final boss, I seem to be an NPC magnet. They pile on me I get stuck then killed.

... from an obviously very bad player.

@OP:
Thanks, good post!
I am Feoh so for me its easy to solo it, but still some things I didnt know yet. I'll pass some infos to our clan Aeoros.
lol at guides , i am 85 on my dual sub aerore healer and never died in this easy instance :D

Learnhow2play :D
Unless I lag for about 5 seconds while running around with a train, I dont really see how ppl die in there either.

Tree, Fairy, Sustain, Celests, npc's that heal you and tank for you. Easy exp.

Come fight me, I can kick your *** any day.
And mobs kick your *** most every day too.

And to think that once I respected you Smittie...
Healers in Kartia shouldn't need Knights. Wizard is better.

You can get HP/MP/CP by using Mentor Coin Buff Pots/Elixir of Blessing, so you don't need an Iss Enchanter for that. I find Harmony more useful for the run speed than the casting speed. Mana isn't a problem for healers in there, just use the appropriate heals in the appropriate situations.

And buff your NPCs, save the prisoners. It's trivial on an Aeore.

The instance is still faceroll for a healer. On other classes it got a bit more difficult with the mini boss spawning in the last room because it does not die fast if you cannot buff the NPCs/Save Prisoners and if you lag with MOBs on you, you can die almost instantly (Healers Have Salvation).

The last room Stage 5 seems to be the issue for most people these days. I did it on my Summoner and SoE'd out because the end boss spawned while the mini still had like 25% HP. The NPCs jump onto Zellaka and left me kiting the mini boss and there's no way I could have finished it. Once I get that toon to 87 and have an AoE (on my character, not just the pets) it will become faceroll again, though.

Everything up until Stage 5 in last room is faceroll. It's just hard to kill the boss when you also have to kite and kill Staqge 5/6/7 Adds and the End Boss pops in Stage 7 leaving you to tank the mini boss which can stun you and cause instant death. On an Iss Enchanter I can Polymorph and throw him back onto the NPCs. I can't do that on Summoner nor can I blink away and AoE the Adds down like on the Wizard.

On healer it's not an issue cause buffed NPCs and Prisoners will kill him before Wave 6.

For the mini boss at stage 4, i use light for p atk+bow +unicorn transformation+smart cubic(ice shackle), and he's dead at the middle of stage 5. You can pop some heals with unicorn transformation and still AOE with reapers, using Warrior harmony.
It's just an alt so it's not a big deal. I'll just skip the solo instance until 87 it's not an issue. I'm a bit tired of it after doing it so many times on 2-3 other toons, anyways I basically only do the gorup instance on one toon a day and forget about it after that.
Im getting tired of kartia solo :D and now that im getting around 1-2% every run, the only motive i have for it is the stones that im pilling up.
I wonder how people always seem to have problems with the miniboss in the last room. When I enter the last room, I stay to one of the sides of the door, a bit away from the corner. All the mobs in the various waves always run straight for a spot right in front of the door and ignore me or the NPC. Then I can pick off a couple of them and kill them while the rest of the mobs just waits at the door, slowly walking back to their spawn points. When I do the last room this way, the miniboss never ever aggroes me and just stays at one of the back corners. And during stage 7, you can pick off the end boss plus a handfull of mobs this way, too, while all the rest of the mobs just stand at the door picking their noses.

I mean, yes, I am not a healer, so I can tank the boss and a couple mobs. But surely even as a healer it should be possible to "exploit" the stupidity of the mobs and not aggro all of them plus the miniboss?

Wow I should seriously try this some time since the mobs give a total of 0 xp!
Excellent post, this is something that's worth looking at.
1+
And to think that once I respected you Smittie...

Not sure why you are telling me this. I dont post here to earn your respect...

You clearly said above you die to mobs though, so stop acting tough, if mobs can kill you, clearly anyone can.
Try me, PvP me then. I doubt the great Smittie, box master, can beat a skilled healer. PvP isn't bugged unlike Kartia solo, just imbalanced as always.

Anyway, I have a lot of friends and clanmates and a good number of them have a problem with NPC's not behaving correctly.

One example is teleporting into the second room. Sometimes the NPC's don't warp in for a good 3 minutes and I'm running in circles for my life trying not to die. I mean if it was just me having problems with a bugged dungeon then it's okay troll away, but when I know others who deal with the same bugs, then something is up.

Ergo I don't do solo Kartia unless I'm super bored.
I do it coz its some easy % on my healer, and you never know what you get in the party instance.

I've never had to wait 3 mins for the npc's to port in though, at most ive had to run two laps around the 2nd room.

The mobs are pretty straightforward in their movement though, how exactly are you getting stuck?

I lose % from solo. I guess you're pro healer in Kartia solo ;)

I don't know they just won't appear for. Today it took 5 minutes for them to appear and they appeared on like the ledge and were stuck. I would have taken a screen, if my salvation was up (which it wasn't since I used it earlier). I had to PR to avoid % loss.

The mobs function normally. The NPC allies like to pile on me and get me stuck while the monsters surround and kill me before the Tank NPC realizes it's his job to hate mobs.
My dual is an 85 Aeore, my main is summoner.

Honestly, as easy as it is on Summoner, its easier on a healer, and I didn't even realize you could pick the endboss off without the mess of mobs.

I wear Light armor and shield and get knights... just tank the dang thing with fairy of life and spam the AoE. Sooner or later the npcs join the fight, its just the first charge that kills you. I've been killed once or twice and just salvation stand up and the npcs handle things. Now I don't die at all as the right combo of giants favor + fairy and cooldowns will save you every time.

Mostly, its the overload of mobs + boss and clueless NPCs that does it. Once the big glut of mobs are down its easy mode even if the mini-boss is still alive.

I admit my way is kinda the hard way and that the "peal off the endboss" is more elegant.
I guess I am just used to dealing with stupid NPCs as I have been a summoner forever.
Note: what I posted above does not work anymore since today's maintenance, they changed the kartia mob/npc intelligence back to how it was before. That means, the mobs (well, most of them) in the last room will aggro you again from all the way across the room, so you have to run around in circles around the npc to let those take the aggro. But then, the npc are finally halfway intelligent again and actually FIGHT the mobs, instead of just standing there, cheering you on "kill all the mobs!" :D

So I guess it is now worth it again to try to save most/all of the prisoners in the first room, they really make a difference in the last room (and don't steal any xp in the solo kartia).
I only had problems with Kartia in the first day that the instance get introduced.

After that I practically do every day, all prisoners saved, with wiz harmony, and I finish before the buffs over , and I do without running like crazy, I stay put and AOE then like no tomorrow.

I don't consider myself Pro kartia solo player, neither a Pro healer in any means; I just have a good memory to remind patterns, like the Mobs and the NPC AI patterns.

Remember in the 16 bit/32 bit/64 bit eras that bosses had a pattern and some you needed to get to finally defeat then because they was too hard? I think for Kartia the same rules applies, once you get the pattern the instance will be really easy to do.

Yes, once you figure out when the beams show up to kill a prisoner, and where to stand to heal the prisoners without the npc getting in the way of your chain heal, it is super easy to save all of them even on an ISS, while still fighting mobs. And with 10 prisoners saved, the last room is laughably easy after they fixed the npc AI, they will do all the work for you. So it should be easy on a healer, too, you pretty much just have to keep yourself alive.
For Iss "chain heal", I find that at least 2 prisoners away or different row works best.

That's if the chosen support (tank/warrior/etc) dont go stand in there also lol.

Yeah, you need to stay like halfway up the ramp, otherwise the npc tend to run up there to see what you're healing :)

I always target one of the prisoners in the first row (not the one who is being damaged though), that way you can stay far away enough that the tank etc. don't run up and leech the heals.

I think healer is THE CLASS for Kartia Solo, you can do ANYTHING.

You can crowd control, you can buff the npcs, you can heal the prisoners easily, you can debuff the bosses, you can AoE for a decent damage (With my Apo Buster +4, I kill all the mobs with 3 or even 2 AoE's), and you can spam heals/celestial shield when the NPC AI refuse to help you.

If you bring the NPC Healer with you, you also never will have to use Rebirth, and you will have a backup heal for dare situations.
