ok so I just reached lvl 50 and I went straight to dimensional merchant to retrive my reward (Path to Awakening) for reaching lvl 50. I put on my new armor, and delete my old since I won't be needing it anymore, right?
WRONG. As soon as I try to move I noticed I move slowly as hell, I look at my debuff bar and see I have ARMOR GRADE PENTALY LVL 4. WTF!!!11
So now I'm stuck at lvl 50 with no armor. WHAT IS THE POINT OF GIVING AWAY ARMOR YOU CAN'T EVEN WEAR??!! OMG:eek:
what do I do now? at what level will the grade penalty dissapear? and where can I get armor I can actually wear since I deleted my old armor.
It would have made too much sense for the path to awakening to give armor/weapon rewards at the level you could use them. I think they give you the B weapon at 45 and armor at 50. basically this is why you don't delete stuff but put it in the warehouse until it expires.
No Grade: Level 1
D Grade: Level 20
C Grade: Level 40
B Grade: Level 52
A Grade: Level 61
S Grade: Level 76
S80 Grade: Level 80
R Grade: Level 85
R95 Grade: Level 95
R99 Grade: Level 99
Atleast he can make another 1-40 toon in just a lil less than 2 hours, and he gets free C grade again. Just pick up the mentee certificate and the c grade boxes on the main toon.

I lol'd at this. Well go try and buy some cheap c grade from the NPC shops to get you to 52. it will not take you long to hit 52 then you can wear B grade.
Because cheap C Grade armor is not "cheap" to a level 50 toon just starting the game.
They shouldn't give you gear you get penalty for before those levels, though. They should give it at the level you achieve the passive and that will negate the confusion.
Telling a new player to go read patch notes is idiotic.
The game can easily fix this by putting the item names in the tooltip as red font to let you know that you will get a penalty if you equip it. It's a brain dead easy fix to implement.

And if you've ever started a new toon and got it to 40 you'd know that you'd have 3-4 mil by then and by 50 you should have more than that doing dailys. C grade shop armor does not cost that much. It'd carry him to 52 he could npc it and call it a day and move on.

Cheap C grade armor is **** cheap even for a lvl 40 toon. Get bound items.
Yes, there might be a small confusion about receiving armor at a lvl and being able to use it in 2 more lvls, yet there is tons of info about this in the library site and also in game with the annoying popups.
You guys act as if he is supposed to know whats inside the package. We were all noob once, only difference is armor grading was better laid before us as barriers. If we didnt know what C grade was before 40 I would of said quit.

You can't expect us to be understanding when he called the system into question due to his mistake. He already found out the hard way what the grading system was, which was unfortunate, but he still chose to come in here complaining about his careless mistake. He is acting like a spoiled brat and you can't expect us not to call him on it.

Since you "destroyed" your armor, buy one from NPC Vendors, just buy Unidentified one and you're good to go(If you can't buy it make another character of the same class and start again,by the way,buy armor from Armor Shop in any Town),get a Quest "Berserker Outlaws" from Adventure Helper NPC,and when you finish it wear your B-Grade Armor and Weapon.
Just some of my advices to don't get wrong on the same thing:
-Always when you want to get higher Grade equipment check your Passive Skills and see at what Grade are you(It's a skill which has an icon TV looking like, and inside of it is the your current grade,it's called Expertise (Grade),i don't remember the name correctly, since i know at what level each Grade starts).
-Here are the levels of each grade:
1-19-No Grade
20-39-D-Grade
40-51-C-Grade
52-60-B-Grade
61-75-A-Grade
76-79-S-Grade
80-84-S80-Grade
85-94-R-Grade
95-98-R95-Grade
and at level 99 is the last one R99-Grade.
And if you've ever started a new toon and got it to 40 you'd know that you'd have 3-4 mil by then and by 50 you should have more than that doing dailys. C grade shop armor does not cost that much. It'd carry him to 52 he could npc it and call it a day and move on.
Theoretically he should be able to use the proofs he got from 2nd CC quest and get free C Grade armor from the Class Change NPC, since he probably went straight to Path Website to get that gear.
Cheap is in the eye of the beholder. I think buying anything at that level is a bit of a waste of adena, except Grocery Store tats which can be a nice leveling boost for some classes.
They can avoid the confusion, though, by simply giving you the gear at the grade level. I can see why the do it the way they do, to carrot people to the next grade ("I have shiny weapons and I need to level to equip them!!!"), but it just adds unnecessary confusion, IMO.
its really stupid for NCSoft to give players items they can't use.
If anyone can come up with a valid reason for giving higher grade items early, besides transferring to a higher level character, by all means, let me know.

WHO DELETES HIS ARMOR B4 EQUIPPING THE NEW ONE?
The Path to Awk makes this game so easy that a 5 year old can play it. My gf got to lvl 89 without knowing what craft is and does not have any problem. Remember when you needed to work your *** off for karmian boots? To have a lol c grade set? Or spoil for avadon? Or for bw? That is all gone now. You just go push a button. Changing classes quests? Gone also. Only 1 remained... a chain. That is cool... but is much simpler. Everything that was a bit challenging till 85 was completely remove.
Even so... even if you delete your **** armor... get a ******* new 1 from the shop. Click on map in any lol town and get a new armor for a few kk adena.
But no... you go and blame others for your own stupidity.
NC Soft maybe screwed up in many many many many ways this chronicle but the fact that you just delete your items without a minimum check is not their fault.

Valid reason: incite people to level up faster and play more bcos they have items "they will be able to use in only 2 more lvls!", maybe even buy a 3hs xp rune so u can get to be the next grade. Marketing.
He messed up. Just buy new bound gear and if he really has no adena at all just ask in game for someone to get u C grades. Not so hard and many ppl do it.
I learned about the birds and the bees in middle school, doesn’t mean I was ready to start a family the next day. Honestly, I thought I learned all I needed by myself way before those classes. I got my driver’s license at 16 late November, I wasn't ready to drive in the Indy 500 that spring. Those that jump into the deep end of a pool cause they don't think or do any research... well they are not smart. Every game has rules and guidelines… if you don’t take the time to learn them than you will appear to be an idiot to those around… those that did take the time to read.
Is he really the idiot? Does he really need to do homework to play a game?
Or maybe all you people should try to think outside the box and realize its really stupid for NCSoft to give players items they can't use.
If anyone can come up with a valid reason for giving higher grade items early, besides transferring to a higher level character, by all means, let me know.
If you get something early, it means you have something to look forward to. I consider it an incentivisor (is that a word?) pretty much in the same way you get to see all the shiney new skills before you can have them..
I can totally understand why a new player would overlook something like the different equipment grades. Most MMOs make it clear that you are not able to use a piece of equipment yet, but in L2, you have to either read the information somewhere, or happen to look in the passives section of your skill tree and notice that it mentions the grade.
That said, it's truly nonsensical that people would be given higher-grade equipment than what they can even use. Weapons would be fine since the penalty is minor, but armor is another story.
This is what I'd consider a bug, and it's yet to be fixed. What good is an S-grade weapon @ 76 when you aren't even given shots for it? Such a simple fix that will just never come...
Don't jump to any conclusions folks. I've been playing Lineage II since open beta. Yes I know about item grades, no I've never accidentally deleted gear. And yes, I quit this game because it got too easy and now I just use my awakened rogue to PK. Much more fun than grinding.
I just don't see why people have to create such a hostile environment. I'm not a carebear, but I'm also not an ignorant derp who has to insult everyone instead of provide a valid argument.
Thank you to those who provided a valid argument, I agree, the gear is a good incentive.
OP, you are level 50... back some 10 levels ago you got some proof of courage or whatever you could exchange for permanent C grade... which is more than good enough for the 2 levels you have remaining.
One of my 5x "fun" toons has almost 6mil from quests and drops... Even failing to have any proof of courage, you could load up on d grade jewels and armor and using what funds you do have I am fairly sure you can fill in whatever you need. (weapon for instance)
Worst case, re-roll.
Even if you like the class/name you have the reroll might make you the money necessary to buy equipment for a few levels.
(all of us who played at prelude rerolled multiple times to afford our D-grade)
A level 50 is something you should be able to reproduce in a handful of hours of good play.
While the design isn't perfect, this IS an MMO and reading your skills and the quest and tooltips is highly recommended.
(frankly, this is FAR from the worst problem L2 has)
If you cannot be bothered to read, this game might be too hard for you.
Because cheap C Grade armor is not "cheap" to a level 50 toon just starting the game.

sorry if I will hurt you or be redundant here, with too many posters saying the same thing, but you just came asking to NCsoft treat us even more as complete idiots, such ones that cant even read what items descritions says, i.e. the topic owner clearly got trolled by himself, not by NCsoft. Atm the game for lowbies is too easy, that I wonder if in early expansions the staff will send personal officers to aid us playing the game at ours home, just for a bit of convenience.

I don't pay much attention to trenshero simply because he repeats what everyone has said with walls of opinions and whys. Simply put he'd rather block everyone and keep on being a parrot.

so you can claim it when your in town and dont have to leave a spot when you lvl... if you have the armor box before you lvl to 52 you can just open it and equip and keep lvling.
