Double Casting "Combo", how to do it?

Feoh Wizard Started Last reply 36 posts
I was seeing tthe official Feoh Wizard video on youtube, and we can see the Feoh Wizard using Double Casting "Combo" (The first spell, throwing a lot of spells like a gatling gun xD)

The question is: how can I do this "combo"?

The video is this one:

Sorry for my bad English :o
Probably capped casting speed while using DoubleCast and Wizard Spirit.

The skill Elemental Spike in itself doesnt do all that much dmg compared to the other 2 Elemental nukes, but does debuff your target for your element.

Dont worry about your nukes looking cool, but rather go for maximum dps, by utilizing all 3.

Hope this English is clear enough for you, its not my native tongue.
Try to press on 2 spells at onces, after little practice you will see 2 cast bars, this is when spells coming from both hands.
Just play with it and it will come to you. It gets easier with lvl 2 double casting.
Have your Nostromo or G15/whatever cycle through all your Attributed Spells every 0.05 seconds, that will maximize your DPS. Just set one button on it as a toggle to do what whenever you maximize double casting. With the macro every cast is two spells and everything is cast on cooldown, including the big AoEs and Destruction.
automated play *cough*

lol. pro mage.

Ya, try this if you are soloing. Do that in a party and someone will think you are just randomly mashing buttons with your forehead.
Well, I think I didn't explain very well...

When a player uses a skill that knockbacks the monster/player, there's a oportunity to do a combo. In Feoh Wizard case, it's the Elemental Spike (The Wizard will cast a Blue and Red meteor on the target).

In another words, that "combo" I'm trying to say, is the yellow button that show on certains skills after completing a condition (like Elemental Spike, the target needs to receive a knockback debuff).

I saw a wizard using the Double Casting "combo" about a month ago. Because of this, I'm posting, 'cause I know it's possible to do.
That "combo" is simply target off the ground, u can use elemental spike which lights up. Unless u'r talking about something else.

It's the highest DPS on a RB-type MOB (Kartia Solo, Group, Teredor, etc.). Nothing beats it - you can't outDPS a mage manually double casting with that Macro for DPS output, ever. Yes, it's pro if you classify pro by doing the best DPS you can do in those 30 seconds when you have -50% MP consumption and 5-10% less reuse.

Already do it in Solo Kartia. It's like 15-20% of Zellaka HP off in the duration of a double casting buff (more if Skill Mastery Procs double duration, obviously). I also do it in Group Kartia and Teredor. Useful on the trash packs as well since obviously the gamepad is spamming the AoEs. I've had people ask me how I can cast so well in double casting since I always have two fireballs coming out of my character and there is no cast latency, though :P

Don't care what people think. I care about doing the highest DPS on the boss.

The whole design of the double Casting skill, and the way mages are balanced in GoD means that if you aren't casting everything on cooldown in the duration of those buffs you're doing it wrong. Obviously not everyone has the same equipment so you may not be able to do better at the moment, but with it you're shortchanging yourself if you're seriously trying to be pr0 at using a skill that was almost designed to be used in conjunction with macro gamepads and keyboards at least for PvE purposes :P

It happens randomly. It seems to have something like a 40-50% chance to trigger on normal XP MOBs when you cast Elemental Crash.

He's talkign about the one that happens when you cast Elemental Crash. At a rather high probability you get the giant skill proc and when you cast crash it does a 4 attribute nuke that is about as powerful as Elemental Destruction but is faster cast than elemental spike or crash.

I think that's why he said double casting, cause they both share that (4 attribute nuke).

So when soloing I typically cast Spike before Crash since on a 1x MOB a lot of times you can 2 shot them without having to cast Destruction or Crash again due to the nuke proc. Have to be fast with it, and it works best without wind attribute since the pushback can make you miss procs.

Procs in PvP as well. Doesn't seem to proc on Raid boss type MOBs, though, unless I haven't been paying attention. For example it procs on the Kartia Dimensional Watchers in Kartia Solo, but not on Zellaka.
That's weird, I can't recall any procs from Elemental Crash beside its designated effect (like push back on wind, or stun when double casting etc).
Or am I reading you wrongly?

you're not getting it into skill description, but it is there; try using wind stance and you'll see it.
I'm almost always in wind stance due to push back and 300 wind elements, except when mobs are not supposed to be pushed, and I never, ever, see any procs from it Elemental crash.
What exactly I supposed to see? Can you make a screen or something?

P.S. The only proc u can barely see is when you using you're crash and mob pushes back, this is a same thing as he lifted, try to do hell binding on him. Or warrior pushes that mob, so he technically off the ground.

I am a DE Feoh with 300 wind element on apoc buster. I have never seen it proc in any stance other than wind. I have tested it in other stances and never got it to proc. I also tested it with a 300 earth apoc buster in earth stance and couldn't get it to proc. I switch back to wind stance using the 300 earth weapon and it started proc'ing again.

So, is it tied to the stance and race of the caster (i.e. DE being wind attribute so it procs in wind stance)? I would be interested in hearing what Feoh's of other races have experienced.
The giant skill thing triggers when the enemy is CC'd with thing such as knockback, thats why it procs with wind stance,it makes spyke do a meteor kinda thing with instant cast.
I made a quick video, just to verify if that is that "proc" you were talking about. If yes then this is same proc when target is off the ground due to uneven flooring, even if we can't really see it. For example when you hitting something which cannot be moved, like certain raid bosses, you never see that "proc".
If not then I'm not sure what exactly do you mean and would like to see in on screen or a video.

Maxchum shows it there, when the mob gets pushback it triggers, the reason why you never see the proc against a raid boss is because they cant be knockedback or CC'd.

I think there is more to it than that because it doesn't proc for me in earth stance using an earth elemented weapon even when root lands. In fact, I have never seen it proc in any stance other than wind regardless of the weapon. That's why I am wondering it its tied to the race of the Feoh.
Earth procs hold, wich is not a hard CC so thats why it doesnt proc, race has nothing to do with it you can even proc it with another people CC.

And how's that different from what i said? It's not a proc but more like a glitch. You can't really use it 'coz when you push mob it lands right back on in a split second but game registers this event as lifting off the ground. Think if it as mob standing at ground level, but ground line, at which he travels while being pushed, is not even, for example couple inches away that ground is 1mm lower then his initial point. But he still in a air, even for a split second. And since game is build this way, it's register this as lift off, which end really fast when mob land back on a ground.

TL; DR It's a minor glitch not an actual proc, which totally depend on how long this mob is off the ground.
And on raid bosses, some of them, there is no push back, so he doesn't lift his feet from a ground, so no procs.

Yea, I just watched maxchum's video and noticed he is a light elf using wind stance and it was proc'ing.
Its not a glitch either, its meant to happen, floor has nothing to do with it.

How's that meant to happent if for the most time that proc is on for half a second? Ether NCsoft think of us really highly, with lightning speed reflexes, or somehow game is not ideal and still some glitches to work on.
And yes, its meant to happen but game is stupid and don't recognize a difference between mob being lifted by special spell or he's in air for half a second.
I think the wind proc is a sideeffect, those giant skill proc were designed to make use of hard CC,you can still make use of it if you cast spike after crash(you can even cast your spike followed by the meteor thing for both of them to do dmg).
I can give you another example of this: ever notices when wynn or tyrr using their knock back or lifting spells? And you still get a proc, even when you not hitting anything and just standing still, looking pretty?

All it takes from mob is get off the ground, doesn't matter for how long.
Well like i said it doesnt have to be your CC for you to cast the meteor proc.I think we have derailed the OP question lol.
automated play *cough*

Ignorant comments like this still make me chuckle.
tl;dr holding an F-key still spams skills regardless. The only legit way to play is mouse clicks only, or typing /useskill (etc).

It procs on Crash even when the MOB resists the pushback, from what I've seen. But I think i'll have to check further just to see. I've never used any other stance so I don't know how it works with those. We all know how bad Earth Attribute is, so I don't think I'll ever fiddle around with that...

Hmm, now that you mention it I have never seen it proc on a raid boss.

I just like a good time.
What does she mean wet or dry?

In this case "wet" would refer to a party where alcohol is served and "dry" would refer to a party where alcohol is not served.
Ah. Was trying to figure out if your post was non-constructive.

Turns out, yes it was.
The feoh'skills on ncsoft video never happened on real game.Reuse time of skills/c.speed not to mention unleash hell.............
