Lack of Healers

So, i've been pondering why there are so few healers. It seems it is always the one class that is always needed; Tanks as well, but less so now. It sort of hit me today why that is....

YOU DON'T NEED A HEALER FROM 1-85!!!

Not only has 'community' been destroyed by effectively removing grinding from the game but the healer classes have been reduced to nothing. Don't get me wrong, Awakened healers are strong and probably the strongest Awakened class but that is not true for pre-awakened healers which require parties to make their xp and learn their skills.

Sad really, I see no solution to this problem, short of anyone taking a Healer class auto starting at 85. And we all know that's no solution.
You should see the lack of ISS at 90+, much worse than healers. But they are easiet class to lvl 1-85...it has nothing to do with easy lvling. Most people like DDs and that won't change.
ive seen many healers soloing at shrine lately (76+)

we have enough healers in clan, the big issue is that they are either not on or all on at same time..
Really? Thats odd, I almost exclusively see bots there (to be exact, in the valley leading to tomb entrance), and the usual DDs.

And draining orcs (where you never know if they are botting or not because bots as well as legit players do nothing but stand and drain one mob after the other) :)
healers dont need be parties dependants to xp anymore; in fact, if you know where/how to lvl, the class is the most grinder than others - dmg, self strong heals, crowd control and no down for mana issues. just take your best spot, stock up with supplies and spread envy on others. but for party play, you'r might be right - the lack of healers in general parties below 85's is messing up with new aeores, that fail when they realize how far they are from previous gameplay - aeores got strongers in some ways, nerfed in others, which requires a new playstyle to match with new awakened stuffs. randoms parties will take them down with no mercy, blaming them for any fail even if them dont, 'cause you just say 'be kind with me, I'm new'; and clannies (almost) will exile them like beggars, aswell.

There's also a side problem coming from that:
The number of new players has been decreasing since I started playing (Yeah I'm a new player, playing since January of this year), now you barelly see low lvl parties (@ Naia), and those that exist dont require a healer. They nerfed the capability of a healer leveling up properly, so pretty much it aint needed and nobody plays it.
I am a Healer as my signature says, I played solo 'till 83, then I got my *** p.lvld because my clan was needing healers, I guess it can work now also.
Solution: You get a guy that is playing healer, take him to ur clan, when he reaches 80 just p.lvl his *** cause he will be worth it in the higher levels.

@Yunalesca: That's true and sometimes and its not the lack of Iss lvl 90, its the lack of brain on those Iss lvl 90 because they missed a simple Devil's Movement while doing Fortuna or Spezion.
I guess it really depends on who ya run with...some clannies i run with at times get so bored with the awakened classes we will jump on lowbies to have the fun the way we used to. we dont have a shortage of healers at low lvls cuz we all have them and switch up from time to time. We do grind sessions, we do a whole nights worth of Raids Bosses, just to"get away" from the same ole, same ole. I suggest ya get a few of your closest friends and make some newbs and lvl together as the low lvl classes are still a blast to play. You could even try the "Party Matching" system to lok for or create a low lvl party...ya may be surprised how many ppl may just wanna come along
Not really, I just got tired of my main and went on with my dual class. Same happened to the healers I used to party with on lower lvls. All went for dual class.

Most ppl play dds and just hit F1, this makes it a bit stressful for a healer, since most of the times u get the feoh in the middle of aoe mobs that 1 hit him.
You also get tanks who only do 1 mass agrro and think they will keep the aggro of newly spawned mobs for 2hs.
Then u have the rouges who think mp herbs have their name so they can spoil even if u are totally empty.

Yeah, u can keep up with a sucky party (which is like 90% of parties) but it's not fun. It's only stressful. So instead of getting into the hard task of finding decent players, lvling a dual class is easier.
People who play healers, ISS or tanks don't get credit for anything. If the party is good then it's the DDs that get credit because they do the most damage. If the party is bad: the tanks get the blame for not pulling right or holding aggro, ISS didn't assist heal or the healers didn't do the heals correctly or PR in time. but no one blames the DDs so everyone plays DDs. WIN WIN class.

That's why I join mostly clan parties only. Random parties are such a disgrace...

(Friend list is an exception of course!)
I pretty much rerolled into a tank because of the lack of them...
Now that I've played it, I love it to bits =D

I dun care if I get credit from others for being good at tanking, I get self satisfaction for *knowing* I did a good job :P I also get sad when I know I did a bad job :X

I believe that my kind of mentality is what makes a game fun, trying to improve yourself when you notice something wrong, and working on perfecting that.

Unfortunately only a couple classes *require* that kind of thinking in order to succeed and proceed along the game; namely Tanks and Healers... which is why it's the least popular because kids these days do not have motivation to self improve (actually the ones that do usually avoid games and improve on their RL selves), so they think it's a bother to play a difficult class and look for quick adrenaline fixes via DDs.

Ofcourse there are exceptions, where we have excellent DDs who actually play their class to the fullest; I for one would *always* use focus death and hit mob from behind when I played my Wind Rider, I might not be the best at it, but at least I try.
I have rerolled into an Overlord, future Iss Enchanter.
I moved to Bartz for the amount of ppl playing other servers. Yesterday i was at Ruins of Agony (yeap just started again) And an Iss Enchanter came and offer me buff... Well...If a had any doubt about the class, i dont have it now. GREAT BUFFS!!! Love it!

So future Iss Enchanter here ^^

You must party with some real losers, then.

It is obvious when you have a good/bad tank. It is obvious when you have a good/bad healer. In good parties, credit is given when due.
I will keep saying the ISS in my pt is bad as long as it takes 10 minutes to give me that darning harmony i need. From self experience there's only 20% of ISS who actually look at PT chat.

We should all be glad to see there's still players like you in nowadays.

ONE thing that we also should ask for it's a way to make - subclass easier to lvl up - as adding mentor system to subclass (imho) at least the 1st subclass, wich you can make up to 85, in that way make more ppl do their dual class instead of starting a new one and make more ppl willing to do a needed class as already mentioned here as tank and healer so that players could find some kind of balance among numbers, in that way that should revamp interest playing as a most needed and fitting class.

My point is none will choose a needed subclass that so hard to lvl up or doesn't have same main class rights , instead of that they'll choose same ol same ol and we are full of that...
(don't forget that dual class only reaches 85)

Are you one of those guys that keeps asking for different ones? I've had that. Or asks for the wrong one then gets mad when I give it.

Depends. Is it in English? If not, no, I don't watch it.

Dual class can Awaken and be levelled up to 99. Verify your information before speaking.

And anyway, it's not only a matter of personal improvement, but sometimes people like seeing their gameplay has been openly recognized as being good.

Actually I rarely go into parties. I hate grouping with people. The nice doctor told me I have trust issues. I used to dual box but now with buff scrolls and herbs to boost abilities, I can solo just fine.

while playing in constant party we agreed on few simple rules.

1. If tank dies, it is healers fault.
2. If healer dies, it is tanks fault.
3. If DD dies, it is his own fault.

Get in a pt, ISS doesn't give harmony. Ask second time 4 minutes later, still nothing.

Need diferent harmony for final boss, no answer and Heeey! use Batle rapsody without knowing if everybody is rdy.

Does "Warrior harmony please" sound english enough to you?

I'm a better ISS than 80% of this server and i never mained a buffer in my life, buffing someone isn't hard afaik, and i can keep up with what ppl ask me, i even heal when healer for some reason can't, thign that almost no ISS does so i dare say most ISS' sux. If you want a sucessful team, you look at other's needs, coz ISS is suporter, not a solo class (when inside a pt).

You know what? I consider myself a competent buffer as well and never played one before.

I understand what you're saying but I have been in parties where someone asks for a particular harmony, I think, "weird, okay" and give it to them. A minute or so later they're like "WTF, why did you give me that harmony?" Scroll back through chat and, sure enough, I gave them what they asked for. I have also had someone not even know which one to ask for.

I have also been in parties (clan parties, no less) where all of the sudden, chat turns 100% Spanish. I don't speak, read or understand Spanish so I tune it out. If people begin asking me for things I will probably miss it at that point. Sorry, but I'm not going to scan chat on the off chance an English sentence gets posted for me.
Well too bad we're not on same server, coz i only speak english ingame and most of the time im in random pts, except for spezion and fortuna.

On my random pts, chat turns greek mostly or russian:) and i speak none of these.

BUT yes i do understand your point ofc, i remember going in some pts with my ISS (kartias 85) and everytime those **** nukers get 1 shoted, and they ask for wiz and in the end they blame i didn't give them knight lol. So i had to go do the most lol thing to make my pt sucessfull coz i needed the XP. to always give knight to those darning nukers when the boss goes for them and right away give wiz when they are free of danger. Doing this over and over, in turn for this i'd love that most of them at least read when i ask for a specific harmony for the party to go smooth. Ain't gonna happen tho:D
Actually, for me, the situation is the same than someone sign here in the forum that is more or less like this:

"If the party succeed, it’s because the tanker, if the party fails, it’s because the healer!"
My all-time favorite is when I give everyone what they want and someone decides to override it. Party leader starts telling me to give other players different ones. If I do, that player yells at me. If I don't the party leader yells at me. After that, I just say, "f-it", everyone gets knights from now on if you can't agree.

Edit: Oh another one. Someone brings their lowbie alt to SOA. After alt dies I give them knights. Then they go, "WTF, give me warriors". Rinse, repeat. Oh, and this was before I had noble and no one else was giving it. Then I'd get yelled at for not rebuffing the newb every time he died.

Iss Enchanters are easist to level up but that's for boxed buffers. Most people would likely pick a Dark Elf if they wanted to main an Iss Enchanter. The racials and base stats are better. Those don't level up nearly as fast. Healers are a PITA to level up and so are tanks - compared to DDs.

The grinding has nothing to do with it. A lot of healers complained before GoD of the lack of groups at the lower levels due to the fact that classes like Bishops really weren't needed. A lot of tanks complained about lack of groups because you could tank most stuff with a Destroyer or Titan. A lot of nukers complained about lack of groups because all the best XP areas were high HP Magic Resist MOBs. SE's complained about lack of groups cause they only had mostly redundant buffs, bad heals, low % rez, a prophecy buff only great for daggers until they changed those, and recharge (which an EE also had, with much better heals, rez, and Clarity - Emp you could get from a Domi).

Everyone had something to complain about, and they were all valid and true complaints back then. The Awakened Class system was supposed to fix that, but it forgot to balance the PvE disparity between the pre-Awakened classes at the lower levels so the result is people STILL avoid those classes and those that are overpowered in PvE at those levels (Orc Mages) are leveled mostly only to 85 to become boxed buffers.

The result is that the whole game is off balance post-awakening because you have a ton of needed classes that level to 86 and then reroll to easier solo classes (see the ridiculous number of mages and summoners everywhere) leaving you with 10 groups for every live tank and 5 groups for every live healer at peak times.

NCSoft put in the Awakening system so they could ignore the lower level pre-awakened game balance, but it's simply not possible to balance the higher levels (as far as class distribution) without fixing glaring issues at the lower level, because if people don't level DAs, Pallies, etc. then those people obviously aren't leveling Sigil Knights, and if people are leveling EEs and SEs then we can guess they won't be leveling Aeore Healers either, right?

Still worse XP than a nuker or summoner or even Archer with an OOP boxed Iss Enchanter. Every DD who sees themself playing this game in a couple month will have a boxed 85 iss with +1/2 Sonatas following them around, everywhere they solo - except Solo instances like Nursery or Kartia.

Healers are not great soloers no matter how you try to cut it. Nukers and Archers do not run OOM while soloing. There's too much clarity stacked in buffs/passives, bow shots don't consume mana in R grade, and herbs drop in almost all solo areas (even some group areas). Iss buffs are superior so even a healer benefits from boxing one. A healer isn't out-soloing most DD classes.

That's because people often do not know what they need. You giving them Knights instead of Warrior is no different than the Leader telling you to give someone Knights on Zellaka when they keep asking for Warrior to DPS higher. You're still overriding what they said, right?

It happens all the time, and often you have to make decisions for people because they don't make the best decisions for themselves. I always start my own parties and tell people what buffs to take. It works out flawlessly.

Yunalesca is right that most Iss are bad. Most of them don't know anything about the class beyond the buffs and damage skills they get. They are terrible when it comes to CC, you have to actually remind them that Polymorph is low reuse and can drop agro off of them to avoid kiting the boss around the whole room (and even then they sit there idle for the whole duration instead of clicking it off when the MOB is back on the tank), none of them ever patch heal when needed, and yes most act like they are ADHD because they're seemingly never paying attention to party chat.

Healers are no better, there's a ton of terrible ones. Did Kartia with one that only wanted to use Radiant and Brilliant heals to heal, rarely using progressive and trying but failing to be uber strategic with balance. I heal Kartia with 3 buttons (literally). I've never been feared by the boss in there. It's not that hard. I told her what heals to use and she got an attitude ("why don't you do your job and let me do mine" - dying groupies certainly goes well on your resume...), so I kicked her and replaced her. She wasn't the first or last one I've had to get rid of, either. There's a ton of them. Nothing is more frustrating for a summoner on that boss than a bad healer, cause you end up spending 3/4ths your time summoning pets (nope not using reapers that do 100 dmg a hit at 210 crit rate over cougars when they're trivial to keep up with Progressive Heal for any rookie healer).

Tanks generally tend to be better and the new tanks that I've known were all gracious and willing to accept tips form other players. The Healers tend to be stuck up know-it-alls that are pr0's at the game already (so they say) and the Iss Enchanters simply don't read or listen so it's impossible to get through to them.

Yes, clan groups and friend list ftw.
I think a lot (not all) healers cop an attitude because many of them have been playing healers as their mains for a long time.

I think a lot (not all) tanks are willing to accept advice because many take up playing a tank due to lack of them.

I don't play either of them so my opinion isn't worth much on the subject.

Pet peeve, daggers asking for warrior, those I sometimes just let die so they can understand they are supposed to get knight.

Also ppl taking warrior for pvp, dont expect me to keep u alive if you cant even figure out warrior is bad for pvp...

And the other night I had one random in kartia 85 party, one of 3 archers in party. 1st room she goes to stand next to the tank at the stairs. 3rd room just stands and shoot, not even trying to run away or kite. Ended up having to push back nuke her to move her away.

Informed her to stay at range, and she replies she dont have 900 range. I dunno if thats true or not, her being a kamael Yul Archer, but it is for sure not 100 range either. If I would have had the time to kill the boss with less dps, I would have just got her killed myself.

What is up with ranged classes not realizing they should use range?

Oh, also forgot, ppl going afk or just standing around leisurely picking their target in about 3 groups of SOA mobs. Remember, its better to hit something than not hit at all.
Why daggers should have knight?
Isnt warriors much better? :p
This thread is resembling more and more a rant against bad players XD
Why daggers should have knight?

Daggers have low pdef, do most of their dmg by halfkills and crits.

They do not need +35%patk -pdef/mdef.

They need more protection.

And both harmonies give the same crit rate/dmg bonus.

Warrior is better on archers (that arent close to the mob coz of range) and warrior (that have more hp base to be able to take splash dmg, and also able to use ogre feral ogre cry and heavy armor, making them less squishy).

Daggers that dont understand how their class works ask for warrior.
ok i want warrior then :)

I'll give you wizards.

Also Knight gives +12% P.Atk in addition to the P.Def, so it's not like they're losing all the P.Atk bonus going from Warrior to Knights. The Surviveability/P.Def bonus is well worth it.

Those freshly awakened healers who think they're pr0s? "Not hardly..."

Most of them are new healers who just think cause they're part of the Holy Trinity they can play as bad as they won't and the group leader (i.e. Me) won't kick them from the party, since healers are "mandatory."

Unfortunately [for them], DDs are a dime a dozen and I can always log to an Aeore after I kick them.
me not heal, you die !
Yup , i noticed that after the GOD came out , tanks/healer/iss (90+) are pretty rare , that's why lot of old official char was banned or left (back in my times , my clan was pretty full of healers and tanks) , but now that the game is free , people who play want to do high-dmg in pve/pvp.
'Cause of my pc status i cannot do a tank or healer , or the whole pt was going to die , and i'm always been a dagger (even if i can say that i like the other classes as well).
When people dies in pt it's always them own fault , (expect for somethings) , if you're exping somewhere , and a mob came and aggro a DD 'cause it was too close,it's DD fault, it's a tank fault if he don't aggro the mobs from the DD , or it's the healer fault if the DD dies after 30 hits and he don't heal , i can understand healers who miss the heal 'cause the DD got one/bi-shotted...not the one who make the DD die after 5+ more hits :/
About the iss , is easy too , too many class awake as iss enchanters , and so the old buffers user decided to re-roll into something else , this is why you don't found lot of active iss over lvl 90 , and at least , iss are not even bad , actually they're a lot stronger than they look ;) (they can beat easy a tank into oly , dagger , archers, summoners , they can easly win if they know how to play and have a good lvl/gear , ofc , it doesn't matter if the iss is 90 and the enemy is 80 .o.) even tanks and healers are not bad now...tanks got lot of p.def/m.def and give even high damages , healers have lower p.def/m.def but they can debuff/reject you , and have even good magic attack who deal pretty high damage , don't minding the heals/buffs/recharge...
I don't really get why people dislike them :| maybe 'cause now the 70% of players are lol-unofficial players who just play the most OP class of the moment (like summoners and feoh wyzards)
You know what else grinds my gears?

You start an instance or group, almost everyone expects the Iss to buff Noble. Doesn't it make more sense to have someone else do it while the Iss is handing out their buffs? Noble is noble, doesn't matter who gives it yet it seems so rare that anyone else does.
noble urself or get the frakk out of here !

Yeah , i play with my GF and my brother , my GF is iss , and while she do buff i do nobless D: but i see lot of people who actually do noblesse only to themself , or not even so , and when they die they QQ about buff... :/

I guess they don't want to spend Spirit Ores with Nobless buffs.

What a bunch of stingy people!
i only nobless myself and ignore ppl asking for it

Dossent take that long to get noblesse and you need it to enter oly..

Yeah, I stopped giving others noble because of it.

Probably. I think most of them are just lazy. Buffing is for others.

Ofc, I was talking about the lvl up beyond the 85's lvl, where SE/EE/BP can easily make worth decent xp without be party dependant, and a totally new chapter after awakening, when its IMPOSSIBLE to healer do anything out of a party - and here is where lay my concerns about the 'new' ones aeores dont being able to role up with full potential, lacking most part of skill management and the right timer of what/when to do for a party needs - believe or not, the majority of them just roll healer 'cause of the free-instant-party-invite thing (what, in fact, its a lie)

And for Isses, I still wonder how they manage to die when they are the only class, apart from healer, that can heal themselves is a mystery to me
Iss healing itself for alot of hp only works when others are not around. Targeting oneself to heal oneself with others around will result in very little hp returned.

Mystery solved.
~10%
You've got to have a pretty thick skin and decent understanding of the game to be a reasonable healer. The way the game works now it's common for people to go from full hp to dead within a few seconds and you need to react fast and take it on the chin when things go wrong.

I think a lot of people simply can't take the pressure or can't take the complaints when things go wrong so simply give up and play a DD that doesn't require so much attention, no pressure and gets pvp points.

Personally I love healer. Often tons of groups, It's common I find myself a ready to go group within 5-10minutes of logging in and often have to turn down 4-5 party invitations a day. You're not relying on others to keep you alive in PvE or PvP and it's really rewarding when things go right.
while playing in constant party we agreed on few simple rules.

1. If tank dies, it is healers fault.
2. If healer dies, it is tanks fault.
3. If DD dies, it is his own fault.

LMAO ...in many cases this is sooooo true :D
Well i have to be honest here....i never was a healer ( didnt like support toons) i started out as a DE Tank many moons ago ( 6-13-04 ). Well since that time i have made several accts and now...actually have an Aeore, and it is a Blast to play ( 2nd fav toon of all awakened toons i have ). I think if ppl just took the time to explore the healer class a lil more they too will come to find it fun to play. The only problem i see atm ( Aeore only lvl 86 and an alt ) is stupid Zelaika Raid Boss in Kartia, when he decides to choose a person to go after ( usually daggers in my case ) there is no healing them even with Iss assisting heals. As for open fields grind sessions....i dont have any problems healing and i prompt my tank to collect more mobs as i am sitting there bored just throwing a tree up once in a blue moon ( so i lend a hand debuffing and attacking mobs ). Now, someone said earlier that ppl sometimes need to know they did a good job....i look at it this way ( and here is best way to know you a good healer IMO ) Have your party go to Reptilikon or Bistakon region of SoA, have the tank pull as many grps as he can find ( we usually do 10-12 grps ) and if you can heal through all those mobs and that tank walks away unscathed...then you are a good healer ( if a DD goes down who cares as long as that tank stays up ) and let ppl say whatever they want to and dont take any mind of what they say cuz more cases than not...ppl die to their own stupidity not cuz the healer sucks. Here ill even give you an example.......READ MY SIGNATURE about the Aeore healer ...hehehe Muhahaha
unless the healer is trigger happy and heals before you hate aura. I had a healer who kept doing this where I had full HP.

The ranged attacks(or maybe shewast oo close to aoes) really dont know. Knocked her down 3 times in the same party. Lucky for 350 earth resist, and an ISS that was quick on rez. Nobless buff or we would have wiped 3 times, but no one else died.

If the ISS, Healer and Tank aren't synced up it could create a bad night as well. Healer: CHARGE!!!! -stays behind on one pull Tank: /death. /wipe. Learned my lesson there to always look behind me even when pulling 432983494 mobs jaja xD. Was both our faults.
Why bother asking the tank to pull more? :p

When I'm bored in SOA I often pull a couple of extra groups with Lumi to wake everyone up a bit and make things more fun! If the group is killing too slow or I need to hurry I sometimes jump in the middle of the mobs and spam my AOE nukes whilst healing to speed things up.

Of course it doesn't always work that well in rept/bistakon, but I've only caused one wipe so far! :D

(P.S. I don't recommend it if you can't handle or if you care what random grps think of you :P)
Iss healing itself for alot of hp only works when others are not around. Targeting oneself to heal oneself with others around will result in very little hp returned.

Mystery solved.

I know about that info, aswell; but the thing is that they NEVER heal or try to, no matter how situation goes on... if you are in a instance where your healer is far (being chased, feared or whatever), I think is better to have 1-2k hp back 'till real heals come on than be kissing the ground. just my thoughts

@Punky: I dont want break dreams down here, but I wouldnt advice that unless you'r totally sure all party members ( ESPECIALLY YOUR SUPER-TANKY-MAN) is full geared with 3*120 elements, 'cause there's no heaven where a healer (and here you call the most skilled one) will keep any squishy tank up while it being smashed by, what? 10-12 elite reptilikons/bistakons? nice story

I gotta teach you my killing strategy, wiped few mins ago 21 players (including my own party, 7 bots and 7 real players) with 3 groups :D

10/12? lol? We were pulling 15-25 mobs in Reptilikons with tanks wearing vorpal 3x60.

Just dont suck, and you will be ok.

if i'm not mistaken, then, what he means with 10-12 elite repti/bista, is 10-12 groups aka 40-50 mobs and that i'd like to see, especially on bistakon with one healer

ya .. me agree thats pretty much impossible, even if you can outheal the damage ... no tank can hold the aggro of so many groups. Its already pretty hard to control 5 groups.

Got any video of this?

Or is this "make fantastic claims to boost one's ego" thread?

It's hilarious to see mages holding down nuke key at upper GoG(ie.) and not paying attention while one shooting them self from reflect(then qq about healer not keeping them alive), archers hitting at 0-100 range, daggers insisting on warrior's harmony in middle of a 6+ groups on repti/bista.
The point of the Iss Healing himself is not to heal massive amounts of XP on himself. It's to heal everyone around him without actually having to target another person (who may have kited/blinked out of range of the people in melee range of the boss, causing the heal to miss them).

Also if the iss Targets someone else they typically don't get healed at all. The only way to ensure both yo and the people around you get healed is to target yourself.

And how much Progressive Heals heal for depend on where you call on the HP level chain. It heals the person with the least HP for the most and degrades down from there. If you have the least amount of HP, you will get the most from it. If you don't, well... guess...

Mages don't hold down one button unless they're dumb and leveled to 90 as Blue Tags. It's not a viable way to play. No one plays like that. Stop saying it. It makes you look desperately ignorant.

People crit hard these days. It can happen to a number of classes, including archers and even Summoner pets can end up killing themselves on reflect with the right buff stacking.
Magic Crits + Reflect are ugleh.

Super duper mega ugly.

People just die these days, ive finally stopped caring xD. As long as party doesn't wipe everything is ok. 100% rez.

Kartia is a place where people often get 1-2 hit with little to no way of quick saving them. All I can do is use my lions stun and hope for the best. (as a tank at least)
I pretty much rerolled into a tank because of the lack of them...
Now that I've played it, I love it to bits =D

I dun care if I get credit from others for being good at tanking, I get self satisfaction for *knowing* I did a good job :P I also get sad when I know I did a bad job :X

Sometimes a tank doing a bad job is because of a DD not doing his correctly. I was playing a tank in guild wars with a buddy that didn't understand he was supposed to fight the same mobs the rest of the group was fighting. he thought it was ok to run off and pull others. so now you have a tank trying to get aggro on everything, and a healer torn between the group and the lone wolf...easy decision, she let him die to teach him a lesson. he ended up quitting the game, forever, lol.

That happens because DDs usually ignore that attributes on armors are useful to them too.

The difference is that in GW there's no "taunt" or "aggression inducing" skill, mobs attack whatever character they see first.

Not sure why people keep posting this drivel, as if people are going to stack attribute resist on some Immortal Set.

If you die get rezed if you are taking too much damage take knight or magician's harmony depending on what type of damage it is.

Immortal gear isn't even worth putting Attribute Fragments on, IMO. Wait for Twilight for that.

As a healer, I feel I must put resists instead of endangering the party.
But, my point is that most (new) DDs completely ignore that attribute on whatever armor they wear reduces the damage.
I hate that, in SoA or Kartia. Someone pulling aggro especially when they are going to be scattered or worst I already used my hate aura.

Oh yeah, ignore the elemental and focus only on buying the overrated Twilight Set instead guarding for Seraph at 95 (instead, you know, put the Immortal to +6 with no cost at all using Mentee coins and Diplomas) Because death characters make good damage dealers, it isn’t?

How is a new tank gonna get TW set before adding elements to his armor? He can't magically spawn 350kk for the breastplate while being 86...to farm with parties the tank needs gear to begin with and they can't farm on their own.

Everyone should be trying to make themselves the best party member or candidate possible. If people actually understood that elements help keep them from dying. blaming the healer is the first thing they do. Try helping yourself out and getting some elements on your gear. I have a healer and they are squishy so that's my priority.
I have seen othells/mages/healers get one shotted by Zellaka so far.

Yet even after getting killed 2 times in a row, some ppl dont move away from the boss, to get nobled and rebuffed away from danger. How can it be difficult to figure out that being squishy and being near the boss dont match?

Zellaka hits my healer for like 1/5 of its hp, on a crit. Yes, dark resist helps, and not just a little.

- yes, mages hold down one key and/or keep pressing a combination of keys without paying attention to mobs self buffs, party chat or ts/vent warnings,
- yes, many of them are dumb and/or botted 1-85+/without knowledge of game/do not learn from their mistakes
- disagree, people still play like that - i speak from experience and if it makes me ignorant in your opinion, well, i can live with that
